Wow! What a great debut! This is packed full of action, witches, witch hunters, loyalty, betrayal, lies...LOVE. Characters don't even have to beg for you to fall in love with them and want to fight along side them. I cannot wait for the next installment. The author has a great style of writing, and I was hooked from very early on.
Oh my soul....I know Colleen Hoover is a great author but still...wow. I relate to this book in so many ways being in a similar place. There is so much said in this journey that is relevant to any who are involved in a relationship. It was difficult to read at many parts due to my own personal experiences but worth it.
Heartbreaking but fantastic read. She has a way of grabbing you and keeping you invested despite the underlying sadness throughout. Such a great story of courageous people shining through in a time of great despair. Make sure to have a box of tissues when reading this one. It will definitely tug at the heart.
I know there are mixed reviews of this one but I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style, the book within a book journey, and the idea that Doors are everywhere just waiting to be discovered. There were a couple of parts that seemed a little slow, but they were easy to get through. For a debut it's a great start!
This is a very well written account of Andrew Cunanan and the murder of Gianni Versace and multiple others. What a crazy, strange world he lived and grew up in (mostly inside his own head). I was in my early 20s when this was going on and never even heard of it. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is interested in true crime.
Oh Hollywood. This was a very well written story of one woman's journey through the raging storms and calm seas of cinematic fame. Heartbreaking forbidden love, prejudices of that era, finally realizing who you are and what you want in life will leave you in a haze of thought and contemplation. This was not at all what I expected and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this read.
Although this was hard to get into at first I ended up really enjoying it. There are a few parts that are hard to read so fair warning to those who are sensitive to physical and sexual abuse. It is a small part of the story but plays a role in the girls' environment. This also has an undertone of Memoirs of a Geisha in the lifestyle and everyday ongoings for the Paper Girls. Looking forward to the next one.
