I liked the coloring and illustration very well done. I went in not knowing anything about this comic/graphic novel I must have mistakened it for Captain Marvel like the movie but I loved the difference. This one highlighted a pakistani girl name kamala and possessing super powers involving her hands to fight evil. Love a good graphic novel/comic that highlights other cultures. I got this through my libraries libby app so I'll have to look into see if there is more than 1 volume. would love to read more in the future.
I read through this ARC which first off thank you for the opportunity to the publisher to read this amazing Graphic novel. I am giving this an overall five star hands down. I wish i could go beyond 5 because it was a very well done. I've read many comics and graphic novels in my life but this one will stick with me for a long long time because of how good it was. The illustrations were amazingly detailed and vivid. The layout of each page was easy to read and follow. The characters, yesss, lets talk about the characters. I love love loved how diverse and unique each character was. Mona's dad of Transgender representation possibly thinking face unsure with the short amount he was in this one I definitely LOVED! Mona herself love her attitude and her curiosity throughout. I really liked that the group of kids was of varying ages and uniqueness as well. I could not put this down and read it all in one sitting. As a horror graphic novel some of the creatures/monsters did creep me out but it was a good quiver. Overall, will be talking about how good this one is for quite some time.
I'm not sure if the format that I had through the libby app glitched or what but I was expecting since it was categorized on the libby app as a comic/graphic novel that it would be setup as such. It pretty much followed the same script as the movie, no uniqueness, no extra storyline nothing. On top of that there was no ending to my copy. I scanned the QRC and it goes to a blank page. Pretty disappointed as I was really excited at the potential of a graphic novel/comic of the tron story but instead we get no finished book and pictures copied and pasted from the movie.
I've seen the movie but shockingly never picked up the book. The illustrations and coloring are absolutely gorgeous and amazing. I had gotten this through the libby app and I have to say some of the text was very tiny, thankfully I could increase the magnification so i could read it. I'm unsure if this is the case in the printed copy but the version i had was a bit too small. I loved it. Hands down was great and was exactly what I imagined his work to be.
I know there was a ton of hype over this book. I was very excited for this book when I found out it was coming. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. This book had me on a emotional roller coaster. I loved Coriolanus and Lucy and Sejanus especially. There were so many dynamics with the characters alone and the circumstances each the capital members and the tributes were in was shocking. I thought the original trilogy circumstances were rough but omg I was shocked the setting and environment this book set the scene with. It was well written and honestly was not the side I expected to see out of Coriolanus since the original trilogy he was a vile, and very hateful individual to those that defied the capital. Dr. Gaul really pissed me off with her psychotic thinking and methods but yeah. I'm trying to keep this spoiler free but I loved everything about this book.
I finally committed and finished Book two in the mortal instruments series and Oh My Goodness it was just as fantastic as the first one. I could not put this book down. I loved all the previous demons and newer demons that were introduced in this one. I loved the pace, I loved Clary's and Jace's character even more along with Alec and Isabella. Seeing more of Simon and now Maia was fantastic as well. I really love Magnuses character. Just overall the growth of the characters and building of the world is sooo well done. I can't believe I haven't picked up this series till now but better late than ever. I'm sure I'm going to rant and rave about it in my upcoming Vlog on my youtube channel.
It was cute, heartwarming, and overall a nice reminder to appreciate life. It reminds me a lot of the movie UP with the adorable grumpy old man with life after his significant other passes as well. This book gave me a sense to be kind no matter how pissed off someone is or acting you have no idea what they are battling or going through at that given moment.
So I did like this book. I've read one other Ruth Ware book called in a dark dark wood and really loved that one. It felt very suspenseful just like the previous ware book I've read. I was entirely creeped out and almost stopped reading but glad I got to the end. It was very suspenseful and definitely chilling at points in the book and towards the end really gave me a flip with that twist about her mom which i will keep spoiler free in case there are those that haven't read it yet but overall pretty good. Solid 4 if there was an option to do 4.5 i would. Definitely recommend for a spooky season/autumn read.
I found this book to be gore-esque more so than scary. I felt there were parts that really could have been cut because they dragged on and the fact that the majority of the book was centered inside a grocery store or close to it i think really got me like okay is this going to evolve or what lol. The creature sounds like something out of cloverfield and overall i was laughing at some parts due to the predictability of some of the characters but over all it was okay it wasn't horribly terrible but not my favorite.
Okay so i will admit if i could rate this book up to the halfway mark i would have given this a one star review. However, now that i'm fully done with this one i can truly give it a 3 star rating.
This book is ginormous for YA and it really didn't need to be...it could have been edited further but here we are in hand. The chapters were too long like i don't need to read/listen to the inner monologues going on and on and on! I kept saying at the beginning damn Edward shut up!? And i know im not the only one thats saying this. This felt like a painful marathon and by the middle to 3/4 it was starting to satisfy me. I am glad i cleared my head and went into this one however i wish this didn't consume so much time to complete. I really spaced this one out over a month and a half cause if i listened to it and or read it every single day i probably would have given it a 1 star review overall.
This book took commitment and Stephanie meyer really put a lot of work into this one i can tell. Edward is a very complex individual and she executes that beautifully. Bella is great love her, love Alice even more thanks to this book and of course Emmett, i wish there was more of jasper and esmay but overall ill settle. Im hoping there is a Jacob perspective coming since there is a love triangle thing going on in the original twilight series. Overall 3 stars and im satisfied now that I've completed it. I personally think this was far too slow paced and it was really hard to motivate because of all the inner monologues but love that we are diving back into one of my favorites not an all time favorite but love the world of twilight.
Not what I had in my head when i read the book description. That ending left me like ermmm just another day in mom hood face palm i was annoyed by the kids...I loved the parallels piece of it that was interesting but it was mainly about a mom complaining about being a said mom and how hard it is having two kids...Some may like this but I can't give in my mind above 1-2 stars for this one. Could have been cut shorter and really didn't need to be as long as it was and we don't need to talk so much about the breastfeeding piece..seriously... i was really turned off to that but hey you do you moms just not something I enjoy reading about in what should be a thriller book, which the first part was the only suspenseful piece the other 4 parts ugh....nope missed that mark badly. I definitely will not be picking this up again. Glad I got access to this on libby and didn't waste money buying the book.
oh....my......goodness....what a wild ride with this one. The twists and the overall book was UH Mazing. I highly recommend if you are looking for a book with a good few plot twists. Was pretty suspenseful and couldn't put it down. I don't think I would reread because now that I've read fully through it would ruin the twists and turns but it was really really really good!
I really liked this one. Helped me see from other perspectives and how to reinvent ideas. I could relate to almost every topic within this book and loved how they touched on each topic. Definitely recommend for the creatives out there whether its authors, graphic designers, game designers, app developers and web developers.
I'm a peter Thiel fan and look up to these VC's in the industry. When I started my journey with my Startup I found myself completely in the dark to how and where to go when it came to funding and how to build my startup. though things didn't work out in the end it definitely gave me a foot print from an actual giant in the industry. Loved every aspect of this book and really was able to educate myself on the expectations and demands of running a startup. Definitely recommend to anyone about to go down the road of a startup before you spend THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars on an idea, and I say that in the nicest way possible.
Jim Dale you amazing man you made this re-read so much better than my first time around. I was more annoyed with Gilderoy this time around than the multitude of times I've watched the movie itself x.x. J.K. Rowling is brilliant with the building of this one in the series. The dueling club was amazing. The Death day party was my favorite. Peeves is my favorite outside of the trio, I could shake the film makers for not putting peeves in at all through the entire franchise. Hands down a five star.
I read this book a while back and what an amazing fantastic High Fantasy adventure this is. Frodo has my heart and all the hobbits within the shire. I wish I could be physically transported there but i'll accept through my book for now <3. Hands down a five star review. Hoping to reread it again soon in 2021. Hands down my all time favorite.
