Absolutely fantastic, every time I think it's just a fun book, Matt Dinniman hits us with an observation or revelation that floors me. Honestly one of the few books I've read where I would say it's better in audio book. 

Entertaining but not brilliant.

I enjoyed a lot of this and liked the setting tropes on their heads. It sadly suffers from occasional exposition and overly simplistic coincidences to make the plot move, particularly towards the end. That being said, there was a lot of good in this book, it was amusing, compelling to read and I enjoyed the characters. I will absolutely be reading the sequel.

Absolutely beautifully written. A tad complicated to follow which managed to make it even more beautiful.

Very well written. I liked the way the story was woven and revealed alongside the letters. I felt it left a little too much unsaid, but I can see how that might have been a choice given that it is part of a set of books. 
I hated the ending, which I think I'm supposed to, so well done for making the characters so realistic that their choices felt organic and not contrived.
