I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. The juxtaposition of the two perspectives is normally something that annoys me in a book, but here it was utterly engaging.
I was absolutely mesmerised and invested in all of the relationships in the book, and the way they were so starkly yet sensitively shown was absolutely beautiful.
The relative shortness of the book compared to how much is in it I think is a testament to the skill of the author.

I enjoyed a lot of this and liked the setting tropes on their heads. It sadly suffers from occasional exposition and overly simplistic coincidences to make the plot move, particularly towards the end. That being said, there was a lot of good in this book, it was amusing, compelling to read and I enjoyed the characters. I will absolutely be reading the sequel.

A surprisingly deep novel with a romance happy ending. This was very easy to read, the characters and their motivations felt genuine and there were enough surprises to keep it from being predictable. I enjoyed that the m/m and w/w relationships were not the issue to resolve.

This is absolutely stunning and manages to be both perfect exactly as it is, and in desperate need of more.
The story is beautifully and expertly crafted, the world building clearer in 40 pages than many books I've read that have 300 or more, and the characters so real that they quite literally leap off the page.
The wheel turns, and so so we.

Very well written. I liked the way the story was woven and revealed alongside the letters. I felt it left a little too much unsaid, but I can see how that might have been a choice given that it is part of a set of books.
I hated the ending, which I think I'm supposed to, so well done for making the characters so realistic that their choices felt organic and not contrived.

Beautiful and unflinching real.

Absolutely beautifully written. A tad complicated to follow which managed to make it even more beautiful.

Interesting but inconsistent.

Entertaining but not brilliant.

Absolutely amazingly written story with an unflinching look at prejudice and societal change. The characters voices are distinct and the story feels inevitable as it is set up so well. An absolute must read.

A beautiful tribute to love, loss and how we death with both.

A good story, compelling characters. The pace was slower than I would like, but I appreciated the intros to each chapter, a considerable amount of world building has gone in to this. Hope there's another one.

Very useful and a new way of thinking about self care without guilt.

A thoughtful, queer story and an interesting concept. I loved the world building at the start of the book on Earth, but felt that the stakes and implications of the hell dimension weren't as fully laid out.

Absolutely fantastic, every time I think it's just a fun book, Matt Dinniman hits us with an observation or revelation that floors me. Honestly one of the few books I've read where I would say it's better in audio book.

Excellent addition to a fantastic series.

Don't be put off by the NSFW tag, it is very well crafted and tells and important message.

An amazing debut from a fantastic Northern Irish writer. I loved reading this and hope there are more to come.

The world building crammed in to this stunning novella blows my mind. The characters are so well written, and the story feels organic.

So beautiful but so sad. Read the trigger warnings.

So I actually really enjoyed this! Started reading for the sentient spider plant, stayed for the found family.

Entertaining, predictable, like tinned chicken soup - something comforting and easy.

A really interesting mix of a setting and characters from the 80s/90s Northern Ireland in the modern day.

Such amazing character writing, really got inside the heads of the characters and transported me to the time and place. Beautifully and horrific.

Again, an epic in a novella. Everyone should read this.
