An enjoyable fast paced ride.
- A modern world where supernatural creatures live by keeping the humans separate from themselves and have control of society. Besides that we don't go into too much detail about these things.
- The main character just discovers that she is not human and while she does go through an adjustment period it doesn't last too long to keep the book's fast pacing. Also discovers that she is supposed to be super strong and powerful to the point of having to hide from everyone, but despite that we don't really see much of that come into play in this book.
- A lot of the focus is on her building relationships, with the 2 guys that right away are absolute goners for her (no slow burn here in emotions), as well as a few more guys that we are not so sure about but somehow also could possibly be love interests in the future.
- The conflict here is mostly left for the ending making it feel like a part one book instead of a full book. Because of this we have very little to no answers and no real feel for motivation except, survival of our main character and envy from whoever is the power behind the conflict that has just started.
- The language and overall feel is very casual which makes this a fast read for me since there is not overcomplicated language or mystery so far.
I'll continue on and hopefully enjoy the rest of the series.
