Laid Bare

Laid Bareby

A good sequel that should have been part 2,

  • We pick up right from the ending of the last book (further making them feel like 2 parts of one) and we finally learn a reason for her being the last one of her species. It feels highly biased on purpose.
  • The main character grows a bit in power in this book by learning a little about the past and trying new magic but I still felt like she was underutilized for someone that is supposed to be extremely powerful.
  • When it comes to relationships,
  1. The one friend she had from last book didn't make much of an appearance in this one so that sucked.
  2. There is some growth in her 2 relationships with the two guys from last book.
  3. The guys we were unsure about are still in the same category, the might or might not be.
  4. There are 2 additions that I actually liked until the moment of them being added to the harem because after all the personality they were showing and connection they were building by the 80% mark the speed ramps up which kinda left an iffy taste in my mouth.
  • The conflict is still not the strong suit of this series, there are some hardships our characters go through that gave it a bit of texture but the main issue from last book that was left to this one was kinda solved right at the beginning of this one and only deepened right at the ending just in time to leave un in a cliffhanger.

I still found this enjoyable and would like to continue, however the third book that was supposed to release in October 2025 is nowhere to be found and there are no news that I could find about it.
