A solid bloody ride.
- Our FMC is a manic pixie type, we hear she's quite good at what she does but despite how many times we hear it I felt we didn't see it enough. Beyond that she is likeable enough with a weird positive attitude and very few sad times even if she does have some mental issues.
- Felix is her partner that already loves her and has an established solid relationship, from him we see a lot of depth in issues and personality which may be good in some ways but I felt we spent a little too much time in his head and repeating the insecurities he was feeling. Still that does create a bigger bond from the reader to this character making his progression particularly satisfying.
- The alphas, most of them felt distinctive but two of them could have been the same character and we wouldn't have minded. This does not mean all four weren't likeable, just that some important personality traits were shared, It did not help that we spend more time or meaningful time with the other two. Still liked them overall.
- Conflict was a bit divided in this, we have an issue that is purely personal and pertaining to the relationship of the main characters, that was the longest one but not the most engaging for me since they have a tendency to become circular.
- The second main conflict was hinted at but only at the very end does it actually make a proper appearance. Somehow it didn't fully feel rushed and got some really satisfying conclusion. The bad guy was sufficiently competent and was not super easy and quick to go down.
This took me a bit of forcing because of the personal issues but everything else was good.
