Claimed by the Rockstars: Part One

Wrote a review for

A great setup book.

  • This follows the same world as the whole series however as most of the others characters don't intersect, at most they might be mentioned. This usually comes accompanied by some minor side characters that make me interested about their story but don't really feature in the next ones. (Jamie and Orion I'm thinking of you)
  • Our FMC is an interesting character, very traumatized and scared but still reacts different from usual expectations, this I am a big fan of.
  • As for the MMC's, they felt easily distinguishable;
    • There is a jerk that takes some convincing for me to like, and I'm still not totally sure but we're getting there. This comes with some side of sad backstory that got me quite emotional a few times.
    • Golden retriever type, to balance out the moodiness of the FMC and the above mentioned jerk.
    • And one that we're still finding out about but that falls somewhere between the other two.
  • Conflict was very well defined here, we had some extra issues regarding character but we also had an overarching enemy that played up the paranoia and future issues for part 2. Given I found it somewhat predictable the fact the identity of the bad guy is revealed to us, readers, at the end of the book was very satisfying.
  • The pacing was quite slow on the relationship side which I very much appreciate, this built a lot more actual involvement between the characters in a genre (omegaverse) that has a tendency to be quite fast-paced.

This was a very enjoyable read with likeable characters and some good emotional moments.
