“How many cups were on it?” “How many cups? I don't know.” “Ah,” Smith said. “You see, but you do not observe.” “Sherlock Holmes,” she said with a grin. “Does that mean I get to be Watson?” “Not yet. But I see potential. There were three cups and steam coming from the pot's spout. You know better than me that Africans are nothing if not polite.”
Focused on Mycroft an too short, but the length is because it is based on the episodes of the show.
Loyal to a fault, enraged and not clueless John is always appreciated.
"You're... Crying. Grief wouldn't make you cry, his death wouldn't make you cry." He yawned, words stumbling over themselves. "But relief's a bitch, isn't it? You can brace yourself for grief. Prepare. Nothing you can do to soften the blow of relief. Relief... Will take the heart out of you."

Despite the problems I had with this book, I enjoyed it as a whole. The characters were likeable and acted logically or at least understandably.
The problems:
* Too much sex. It got boring quickly once they started having it. I didn't mind the carrot scene, though. The exhibitionism was bothering be somewhat.
* Grey's speach was too long. Not enough Sirus and too much Grey. But they're good together, so all is cool.
* Too many kids. Fascinating and helpful and lovable, but too many for comfort. I wouldn't mind a book about Seth. Or about Ramsay, for that matter. :D:D
* Zane's problems were solved pretty quickly, especially the aunt Patty one.
I have no problem with both families being okay (except for Beverly. Of course.) with Ty and Zane being gay. My problem is coming out to both families in one book. Kind of too much. And also, are they gay? I thought they were bisexual?
Other than that, I enjoyed the book very much.

His lover was a born entertainer who liked to kill things. How he wasn't in a psychiatric ward or on a Most Wanted list somewhere was anyone's guess.

The tenuous connection to his work in Miami was frightening, as was the mystery of why that much product had been shipped so far into the Hill Country. He left the sheriff and the San Antonio field office with enough information to watch over the connection in case it wasn't a coincidence.
Coincidence? No way.

Holy shit.
Strong, inspirational, full of hope. It made me sad that it ended. There just has to be more.
What is it with fiction that makes me rebel against set systems and want them to change/be destroyed? For almost every world built in the last 50 or something books. Again. And again. Even knowing a perfect world is not possible (and boring as heaven) doesn't stop me from thinking that the exact order is wrong and needs changing.
Whatever. My rambling stops here.
Highly recommended.
ETA: It wasn't even probing so much as familiar...“Mysterious stranger, yet familiar. No wonder I'm intrigued.”It didn't hurt that he was attractive and looked exceedingly familiar. Is there something there or am I being too paranoid?

Enjoyable, hot, feel-good. Worth a reread (which I will do at some point).
The characters were very likeable, but why oh why do they always blame themselves? That said, seeing both their points of view was satisfying and I appreciate it.
The idea of the house is fascinating. I can't wait for more.
There were some points that bothered me, but not too much, although the idea that a rich @@@@@ may freeze your accounts just on a whim is scary albeit realistic. Leaving one's accounts in a bank in which she has the power to do so is merely stupid.
It was frustrating, to say at least. Not stupid and lame in their worst, but both nonetheless.
To bring your lover (mate) in your home where there are shape-shifters changing all the time without talking to him beforehand is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard of.shakes head
Jake was great. Delany was overall okay, though I'm still wondering how on Earth can he be so stupid.
They were hot together. I would have loved to have seen (read about) the marking.
What can I say? I feel totally mind-fucked.
I started reading with certain expectations which got repeatedly blown away. Most of Toreth's actions showed a human side, which I expected would be much more difficult to find. He seemed far more vulnerable and less in control than Warrick. Unexpected and threw me for a while.
But I do like their dynamics.
There was something else. Something important. Oh, yes. “‘S all your fault.”
...she proved a very effective distraction from the things he wasn't going to think about anyway. lol
Rage. This story made me so very angry. And didn't fully make up for that. I don't want to explain, I'm not sure if I could.
One thing I'm sure about - I'm a Toreth girl.
Brilliant. Thrilling. Everything is either about mirrors or goes into circles, or both.
March 2nd, COMPLETE
I stand my case. Circles for the win.

Someday, he thought absently as Emilio crushed their lips together, he would figure this all out. Hopefully before it was too late.I sure hope he does. Before it is too late."I could tell you knew, by the way. Those baby blues don't hide guilt so well." ~The Interludes
27/8/12 28-30 Just quotes. "You had a dream that we had a threesome?""Yeah. We were--" Sin stopped, and shook his head. "Well, you don't need to know the details." "Maybe I want to know them." "That's why you don't need to know them." The look Sin shot Kassian wasn't exactly warning, but it was getting there. "I was asking, not inviting you to have one." Kassian shrugged, and stood up. He drained his coffee cup in the sink and went to pour himself a fresh one. "I should have just said yes. I've always wondered what it would be like to fuck you." "Well, keep wondering, buddy." A quiet chuckle escaped Kassian, and he reseated himself across from Sin.__"Yeah, but you're his impatient nutjob. And I think the fact that you're so quick to tattoo people's faces with your knuckles kind of turns him on." Sin's mouth curled up into a small grin, and Kassian tipped a shot glass at him.__"Tell me what you found out, Blondie. I got to get back to the compound, and I fully intend to come in your ass before we leave this club."__Kassian showed up at the hotel an hour later. He looked less steady, and Danny could smell alcohol, and cologne that Kassian hadn't been wearing before.Carhart didn't seem to miss those things either, and when he spoke to Kassian it was more formal, and his eyes narrowed slightly.__ "The Hsin he knows seems like a psychotic freak." "What gave you that impression?" "Different things. Kassian--" The general's smile faded and morphed into a frown. "Kassian isn't the authority on character or a well-rounded personality." Danny raised his eyebrows. "He seems pretty normal to me. Nice at least. Honest." "Right." Carhart's expression didn't change but his jaw clenched just slightly.__Carhart and Emilio watching each other across a conference table, and looking away when the other noticed.__"Why don't you go fuck yourself, Zach? Or better yet-- go fuck the blonde cunt that's due here in roughly four minutes. I think the alcove across the way is free." "Is that the one you fucked Kassian in?" "No sweetheart, that was this one. I think you're sitting right where he was before his fucking knees went in the air." Carhart shoved Emilio's hand away from him, and drained his beer. "You're a real scumbag, Vega." "And you love it, baby. Don't front."__The realization that he wanted them both wasn't one that surprised him, but the fact that Emilio was the one that he couldn't do without did. Or maybe he was just surprised that he'd finally admitted it.
I find Luka quite annoying. He has all these expectations he never voices and when they aren't met, he takes the easy route and leaves. No explanation why what Nick did was a mistake, no waiting to hear reasons or excuses or whatever. Irritating. Bratty.
"You're telling me you never cheated on anyone before?" Luka asked dubiously."No. I haven't. You know why? Because I've never fucking dated anyone before. I told you that. I can't cheat if I'm not in a fucking relationship.""But you've slept with multiple people at a time?""Yeah," Nick answered with a shrug. "What difference does it make?""That makes you just like him."
A trip that would take us at once away from the glittering capitals of Europe towards the Black Sea, where we would dock at Varna and begin that search in the rural countryside of the Carpathians.
Varna is my current whereabouts as well!
And that was how it was throughout Transylvania and Hungary and Bulgaria, and through all those countries where the peasants know that the living dead walk, and the legends of the vampires abound.
I like it. Despite all the despair and death, despite the evil.
