I did not see what everyone else saw and all I got to ask is are you people okay?? Like seriously check in with yourself? This book was not my cup of tea. First of all degradation of women in this book was so flagrant early on. And it was so boring for like the first 40 percent of the book at least. Then it was really gross, I did not check triggers for this and I highly suggest you do. Then I feel like the author stuffed the last chapter of the book with things that she laid zero groundwork for. Like it did not align with the book at all. Also this is not for the people who liked ACOTAR or SJM or typically Romantasy at all, this was no plot and just smut and pain, not in the fun way either.

But I guess read if you like: enemies to lovers, pain w pleasure, touch her and die, haunting Adeline vibes(I haven't read book just what i know from tiktok) and plot twists

Check official warnings but from what I remember: sexual assault, blood, on screen deaths, acts of violence, descriptions of mutilations

I actually really liked the book! I went into this with expectations low and really loved the dynamic between the main characters romance of Dora and Elias. Elias being the grumpy sorcerer(?) and Dora's intellect and empathy being what breaks his hard exterior to the ooey gooey sweet as pie center. I blushed at some of their lines, it's incredible how much tension and pining can be in a book where one character is missing half her soul. The relationships in this book carry the story, in believable dynamics, with loyalty, love, anger, and disappointment. There's a lot of discussion of status, and those seen as lesser through circumstances out of their control whether looks, behavior, class and money.
This book contains, grumpy/sunshine, Fae, I'll follow you to the ends of the earth, Bridgerton esque time period, witty banter, and mystery to solve.

This is not in my usual genre of books but I got recommended it and demolished the series in one night. It's my Roman Empire I've reread it at least three times now. It's the perfect amount of tension, drama and intrigue with a story that just pulls on the heart strings. Definitely check your triggers for this one please, there are quite a few extremely sensitive topics that are brought up over and over again. In this series you will truly understand why women would pick the bear over men.

This has been on my TBR forever and I can't believe I waited for so long. It was grittier and darker than expected for it being YA, and begs the question why do we label things without explicit sex YA. I'm not saying young adult readers shouldn't read this they absolutely should, I'm just saying if this was written by a man it would just be a fantasy book.

It was a little slow to start but that's only because I can tell she has so much world to build. The characters really feel fleshed out from the beginning, at the lowest of their lows and just begging for a character arc.

Read this if you are okay with being emotional devastated numerous times in each book.
