3.5 stars. Perú book around the world

Pretty solid 3.5. I need a palette cleanser with all the super depressing books I've been reading.

Very, very, good important novel. Spans a long amount of time and different POVs in various locations. I actually wish it was LONGER so we could get more time to really see how events of the past is effecting society both in US and Ghana. The end was powerful as were many parts of this.

LOTS of twists. Could NOT put this down.

This was kind of messy, and not in a good way. Hard to do switching of POVs (more than two) and timeline and then try to give us a twist in the last like 3 page after sloggling through all that. Kinda rude.

This really would've benefited from it being longer and having multiple POVs so we could really get the nitty gritty of family dynamics. Like “dinner at a homesick restaurant.”

The last line was cute though.

3.5 stars. I liked the foster kids storyline but didn't like Grant very much to be honest.

I did not like this one. Writing style wasn't for me at all.

Very stream of conscious type writing and plot and was just not my thing.

Depressing as hell but kept me interested.

Ive been reading SUCH depressing books and this one isn't any different.

The writing in this one is unfortunately not consistently strong so closer to a 3.5 but when it's good it's great.

Also learned a lot of new things.

Really hard to read. But wow what an important book.

We lost some of the family drama and it was just solved very easily after all the build up

Just very abrupt ending. I would've liked 50-100 more pages to flesh out the world created here.

I already want to do a reread ASAP

Book two of this series was honestly so bad that I forgot almost everything I liked about the first one. Definitely not my favorite and was very rough. I'm going to try book 3 because its a full length novel and this just has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Let's hope its not squandered.

I'm really glad I found this author! She's been 2/2 and dependable so far. This book had more action than the other, which I really appreciate.

You have to really suspend belief on the “suspense” part but otherwise enjoyable time sucking romance novel.

I find it very funny that I picked up the Dresden files as I'm reading both Butchers for the first time. Hah.
