This was an emotional rollercoaster. At first I was really enjoying it, found it silly and entertaining. After a while it just gets weighed down with the amount of characters and them simply talking about the cheese moon or the world ending. It goes on endlessly. Speaking of the end, I didn't like it at all. Makes the whole book seem pointless. I really love this authors books, this is the first one of his I didn't like. Felt like I wasted my time reading it honestly.
I have a rule, if I'm not interested within the first 100 pages I will stop reading. Unfortunately this was one of the very few novels I gave up on. Not sure if it gets better but it was too all over the place for me. Deals with the devil, aliens in a donut shop, I just found myself not caring about any of it.
The literary equivalent of edging. Interesting things almost happen and then are quickly forgotten about. If you'd enjoy nearly 200 pages of people going to other earth's and saying, those horses look similar to the ones on our earth, then by golly do I have a book for you! Loved the random sequel bait near the end. Good stuff. Rather disappointing as im quite a fan of both authors.
This was my first experience with smut novels. My girlfriend suggested this because I was curious. The smut was pretty tame and seemed a bit forced at times. The best part of the book was the relationship between Ford and his daughter. Give me a whole book of that please. I found it rather jarring how it would go from absolutely heartwarming moments between them, to extreme horniness a sentence later. It was a bit strange. Overall not a bad book, I'd definitely give more smut a chance.
