My review is for the eBook.
I've never read any books by Judith Sonnet before, so I wasn't sure what to expect I think the book is well written, but I don't understand the weird obsession with people urinating, or what is known as “piss-play”
The amount of times the author mentions someone urinating is excessive in this book, the plot of the book is okay, but I wouldn't say that it is enjoyable or interesting to read but that's just my opinion though.
Other people might disagree and that's fine, since everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Splatterpunk & extreme horror is not for everyone, not for the faint of heart either.
The following trigger warnings are various reasons why this book might not be for everyone.
My review of this book will be for a copy of the book that I borrowed from the local Library.
I would of prefer it if the author did include world mythology, folklore of beliefs about mummies, zombies and vampires, it would be interesting to know, hopefully the author will write about that in another book.
For all the authors, short stories, or gothic horror stories about Egyptian mummies how could the author not even mention Nyarlathotep by H.P. Lovecraft even once?
It is related to what the author has written about Egyptian mummies and the fictional story is about the Egyptian mummy Nyarlathotep in his Cthulhu Mythos.
I'm going to read the vampire chapter next then read the zombie chapter, since I love vampires so much. Anything about vampires (except Twilight) is something I will love.
The chapters about the mythology, folklore and beliefs about vampires is really interesting.
People that are part of the Vampire Community/sub-culture fit into various subcategories and obviously the Sanguinarian, Psychic, Tantric or sexual vampires don't want to be associated with or confused by the “Vampire Lifestylers” or people that roleplay as a vampire.
There are various types of modern day spiritual vampires that exist and fit into a niche or sub category, some are spiritual, some practice witchcraft, some interact with people physically in-person or astrally.
I don't agree with the author that real vampires only drink human or animal blood, vampires have always fed on the blood, life-force energy and sexual energy, prana energy absorbed into the aura from the sun. The energy and life-force or soul energy/essence of a living person.
A vampire and their donor have a psychic bond and there is a energy exchange when the vampire feeds on the consensual donor (for blood or energy to feed the vampire)
Psychic vampires are just as prevalent as sanguinarian vampires, other types of vampires such as tantric vampires aren't even mentioned.
Vampires astral projecting to interact with and feed on the energy/sexual energy of a willing person that gave their consent is also never mentioned as well.
There are not a lot of books that include world mythology, folklore of vampires, so it would be interesting to read about it.
I will definitely buy a copy of this book.
My review will be for the hardcover version of this book, which is available on Amazon.
The Cecil Hotel, has a very dark, disturbing, macabre history which is now infamous and intriguing to a lot of people, more recently due to the murder or suicide of the Chinese-Canadian student Elisa Lam, while she was staying at the Hotel, the Night Stalker-(Richard Ramirez) & another serial killer
There are various books about The Night Stalker, some are about people that corresponded with him while he was incarcerated in prison leading up to his death on the 7th June 2013 due to B-cell lymphoma.
The Cecil Hotel has since had the name of the Hotel changed to (Stay on the Main) instead to disassociate themselves from any bad publicity, or negative attention, it is afterall still a Hotel.
The first two chapters of the book are in my opinion, a bit tedious to read, since not all the information is relevant to the creation of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles.
However it was interesting to read about the history of America in the 1920's (The Roaring Twenties) & 1930's (Depression Era)
I never knew there was a Cecil Hotel alongside the River Thames in London created in 1896, so it was interesting to read about it.
The original idea for the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles was for it to be a opulent, decadent, Hotel of sophistication, class and respect, I liked the description of the creation of the statue of the Greek Goddess Athena or the fact that the Cecil Hotel had Greek Statues in the Hotel.
Just from looking at the black and white photo of the entrance of the Cecil Hotel, it has a old fashioned, classical, Greek or Roman sophisticated style from a bygone era, that isn't really used as much in the modern world unless you are rich, or own a historical building.
It's clear to see that there has been a steady decline of the class of clientele (the poor, junkies, prostitutes), the reputation of the Cecil Hotel since the Depression Era and due to the fact that the Cecil Hotel is on Skid Row, which is one of the poorest areas of America historically & in modern times. The history of the Hotel, is dark, macabre, disturbing, historically & in modern times which has contributed & created the infamous, dark reputation & aura of the Cecil Hotel and it's probably why the name of the Cecil Hotel In Los Angeles was changed to (The Stay on the Main), to avoid negative publicity, macabre interest/dark tourism but some people like me are interested in true crime.
Afterall it is still a Hotel, so they want to maintain their reputation as a reputable, trustworthy Hotel.
The woman on the cover of the book is Elizabeth Short (A.K.A The Black Dahlia) which is a infamous unsolved murder case due to the way Elizabeth Short was murdered.
She was known as The Black Dahlia because she wore black & for dying her hair black, she was a aspiring actress, but sadly never got to live out her lifelong dream.
I believe she was lured, kidnapped by a coercive stranger, she was staying at the Cecil Hotel, and was seen there around the time she disappeared, and as murdered.
She was tortured, probably raped, strangled, exsanguinated (drained of all her blood), her face was mutilated, cut from her mouth to her ears, her body was cut in half and them discarded on a strangers front lawn, where she was later discovered.
Her murderer is a sexual sadist, he washed her body, hair, to remove any possible trace of evidence, so her body had a very pale pallor & mannequin like appearance, so people mistakenly thought that her mutilated, bisected corpse (her corpse was cut in half from the waist) was a discarded mannequin.
Her murderer, has the surgical skill & knowledge of a doctor.
Her brutal, disturbing murder has never been conclusively solved, but I think a prime suspect is,
George Hill Hodel Jr. he already had a inappropriate, incestuous, sexual relationship with his daughter that he was sexually abusing, he hates women, he was known to be violent.
Only a man that hates women, would have done that to Elizabeth Short.
Her death was unnecessary, brutal, violent, she suffered a lot, I hope that one day her unsolved murder will be conclusively solved.
Skid Row is a notoriously economically deprived area of America, in & around the Cecil Hotel, the poor and the homeless predominantly lie in this area, for a serial killer the poor, homeless or anyone that's a sex worker is a easy target.
Their murders are less likely to be noticed, or solved, the poor, homeless and sex worker are a marginalised minority of society that are mostly ignored, invisible, judged/shamed/hated for being poor and judged for the way they live their lives and try to makes ends meet.
People don't choose to be poor, homeless or a sex worker and it not their fault that they are struggling and most people wouldn't have the empathy, or compassion to be understanding of their circumstances and try to help them, instead on condemn them to a miserable existence.
They are sadly a victim of their circumstances, and for a lot of people there is no way out of it, there isn't a way to improve themselves or their lives, it is what it is, unfortunately.
It makes sense to me that there would be some types of opportunistic, predatory serial killers that would prey on and murder, the most vulnerable people in society, why the serial killers weren't caught for awhile, due to the types of victims, no one noticed that they were missing, no one reported their absence, or suspicious that they might be dead or may have been murdered.
This is what Anthony Sowell & The Grim Sleeper relied on, the fact that no one would notice or care if people that are poor, homeless or a sex worker were murdered.
If a victim of Anthony Sowell, didn't fall out of a window and ask for help, then his house of horrors would never have been discovered.
He was a serial killer in plain sight, but no one noticed him or the Grim Sleeper for a long time.
The poor, homeless, sex workers have always been considered undesirable people in society, this is why some serial killer are mission-oriented and feel like it is their duty, their right to rid society of these types of supposedly undesirable people.
The Yorkshire Ripper s a good example of that.
The Night Stalker & Jack Unterweger: Both of these predatory, serial killers killed women, they both stayed at the Cecil Hotel.
Richard Ramirez's mother working in an environment that had toxic fumes & radiation & his cousin Miguel, showing him photographs of women that he had tortured, raped and decapitated & murdering his wife in front of Richard when Richard was a young and impressionable teenager were both a very bad influence on Richard.
I think he did have the capacity to be caring of kind, but due to things he experienced in his lie it moulded him into who he became as a person and as a serial killer.
It's not surprising that his siblings were born with deformities when Richard & his family grew up in a economically deprived area, they weren't able to move due to poverty, so they were stuck living in an area that exposed them to radiation poisoning.
So far Richard Ramirez is the only serial killer that I have read about that used thumb cuffs, to incapacitate their victims which is unusual.
Throughout his killing spree/murderous rampage, Richard Ramirez was watching the news, or reading about his crimes in the newspaper so he learnt from every crime/murder he commited what to improve or to do differently, the next time he picked a potential victim(s) while he was prowling for victims. He entered homes that had a open or unlocked door, window, or removed the screen to gain access into a house via a window.
His footprints, AC/DC hat, bullet casings for his .22 calibre gun were found at the crime scenes, he always wore a specific brand and size of trainers/sneakers so eventually this was one of the reasons he was suspected of being The Night Stalker and caught by a vigilante mob/crowd of people, beaten up as vigilante justice due to the local people recognizing him and calling him “El Matador”-(The Assassin in Spanish) and he was arrested by the police.
He was the only person that bought the Avia athletic brand of shoes (trainers/sneaker) in size 11.5.
His shoes matched the footprints found outside of more of house where he broke in more than one house that was a crime scene.
Lillian the wife of the Japanese-American retired veteran recognized her attacker, the man that murdered her husband and she gave the police a specific description of Richard Ramirez.
In my opinion, I think that Richard Ramirez was always going to be a predatory, rapist, peadophile, serial killer, even without abuse he suffered, his head injuries, epilepsy, he was addicted to masturbating, he had specific kinks/fetishes that he was into.
He was a troubled person, from a young age, growing up in a abusive household, sleeping in a graveyard, where he felt at peace, to avoid his abusive dad and being influenced by his cousin Miguel that had no regard for human life, he hated women, so he tortured, raped, murdered & decapitated women and took photos.
He showed these disgusting, disturbing photos to Richard, when he was a impressionable teenager, that was easily influenced & he was impressed by them rather than feel disgusted by them, like any normal human being would feels if they saw photographs like that.
All of this contributed to Richard Ramirez becoming a who he was a person, as a serial killer, it moulded him into becoming a unrepentant, remorseless, predatory peadophile, rapist, thief, violent serial killer.
He tortured his victims & made them “swear to Satan” or to say “they love Satan”.
One thing I don't understand about Richard Ramirez, is that he never wore a mask, or something to cover his face, so it would have made it more difficult to identify him, his victims saw his face.
In some ways he seemed forensically aware, but he also made mistakes, became sloppy overtime or maybe he didn't care and left evidence at the crime scenes, such as the (11.5 Avia athletic shoe) footprints outside near a window he removed the screen from to enter houses, bullet casings and his AC/DC hat that he totally forgot about.
It's common for even meticulous serial killers to become lazy, sloppy or not care if they leave any traceable evidence at a crime scene, even if the corpse of a serial killers victim(s) doesn't exist anymore, they can still be convicted of their victims murders.
Microscopic evidence is vital, in any serial killer investigation case, DNA can't be faked, but DNA evidence can be placed at a crime scene to make it look like someone was involved or at a crime scene when they weren't.
Innocent people have sometimes been convicted of a crime they didn't do, some people on Death Row are innocent.
But this doesn't apply to the Night Stalker, he loved what he did, he was addicted to murder, to the public being shocked, or disgusted by what he did, he loved the attention he received for what he did.
His inflated pride & ego were his downfall, Satan may have protected him, but he would still be arrested, tried, convicted and sent to Death Row because he was a serial killer.
While in court he had the audacity to act up for attention from women, admirers', he had a lot of penpals, people he was friends with & corresponded with which included a lot of women but I never knew that he wrote a letter to the American actor Sean Penn.
Richard Ramirez created a lot of demonic/Satanic artwork that he sometimes signed The Night Stalker until he was forced to draw normal, non violent disturbing imagery, but his artwork has always has been and always will be popular.
He wasn't allowed to use the moniker The Night Stalker on his artwork, because it would make it seem like he was only creating the artwork, to profit from it from his fellow Satanists, admirers, fans, groupies.
Richard Ramirez got married to Doreen Lioy while he was incarcerated, not sure if her genuinely loved & cared about the woman he married, but the photographs I have seen online look like they love each other.
Richard Ramirez was a popular person as a serial killer even though he raped, tortured, murdered his victims.
Jack Unterweger is a Austrian journalist & predatory serial killer (known as the Vienna Woods killer) he murdered 9 women in total that were prostitutes, he hated women.
He wrote his own autobiography, but there isn't a version of it available in English unfortunately.
Jack Unterweger (a Austrian journalist/Serial Killer) & The Night Stalker were both staying at the Cecil Hotel.
Further reading for anyone that doesn't know who Johann “Jack” Unterweger is, would be Into Hades: The Double Life of a Serial KIller- written by John Leake.
From a young age Johann's Opa (Grandfather) was influential to him, even if he resented him, he was a impressionable child that was deprived of genuine love & affection that he craved and yearned for from his mother but never received that so he had a love-hate relationship with women.
He learned how to treat women, or specifically sex workers based on how his grandfather treated them, so he was the same.
He is sexual sadist, a narcissist, that is prone to outbursts of rage & anger.
I think he is a sexual narcissist as well, if/when he didn't get what he wanted from women, he was violent and murdered the women that rejected his sexual advances if they weren't interested & they didn't want to have sex with him.
I like the old, black & white photographs that are used in the book, it's interesting to see the old fashioned architecture, the way buildings looked when they were originally built.
Eliza Lam: Based on the description of her personality, her mindset, she was, a shy, introverted, anti-social loner & a bookworm.
She suffered from depression & Bipolar disorder, she did feel & experience suicidal ideation (suicidal thoughts & behaviour associated with that), but infrequently, some people that are Bipolar sometimes feel & experience suicidal ideation, but not constantly.
She expressed online on her tumblr blog that she wanted to kill herself, but it was a fleeting thought, she wasn't constantly thinking about committing suicide and her behaviour doesn't exhibit that of someone that was suicidal.
She said it herself, that was a coward and didn't have the guts, or the courage to commit suicide and she had no interest in harming herself, because wasn't a self-destructive masochist like a lot depressed, anxious people are.
So based on this, it makes absolutely no sense that she committed suicide at all.
She was a naive, woman that was a bit too trusting of strangers or people in general.
How did Elisa Lam gain access to the roof, when it was locked, alarmed and access to any fire escapes to lead to the roof was forbidden to any guest, or long-term resident of the Hotel.
If she was on the roof, it would have set off the alarm, on the first two floors of the Hotel and at the reception desk but the members of staff, said the alarm was working properly and there was no fault or issue with it.
I believe due to the bad reputation that the security staff had, that a security member and a general Hotel staff member are involved in Elisa Lam's death.
She had blood on her buttocks, which could have been the result of rape or consensual sex, it was & never has been determined if Elisa was raped, there was only, her antidepressant, antipsychotic medication found in her toxicology test results & she was dead before being placed in the water but had no signs of physical trauma other than blood on her buttocks.
She could have been drugged with chloroform on a tissue, rendered unconscious and then raped, murdered and placed in the water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel.
Her drowning was a dry drowning, she could have been still alive but unconscious when she was placed in the water but no water was found in her lungs, so she was dead before being placed in the water.
More than one person noticed her weird behaviour, but it could of been due to her taking less of her medication.
There are various angles of the CCTV footage, but not all of it was made available to the public.
She had no reason at all to go to the roof, or anywhere near the water tank on the roof, so I believe in my opinion, that Elisa Lam was manipulated, coerced under false pretences to follow or join a security staff member & a general Cecil Hotel member that had access to the rooftop area key & knew the alarm code hence why the alarm was never heard because it might have been disabled temporarily.
She could have been drugged with chloroform, raped while she was unconscious or incapacitated, then murdered & placed in the water tower.
The lid of the water tower is heavy, Elisa Lam wouldn't have been able to lift and remove it, but two men could have done that with ease, in a documentary at the Cecil Hotel, it was stated that several people would have had to loft the lid of the water tower to remove it.
While in the lift/elevator Elisa Lam was playing the Elevator Ritual, a paranormal ritual that if done correctly would take you to another realm, or another dimension.
In my opinion, if Elisa Lam really wanted to commit suicide she could have overdosed on her medication, jumped from a window etc, but she didn't.
This mysterious and unexplained death of Elisa Lam, still needs more thorough investigation, why wasn't any DNA tested for the rape kit?
Was Elisa Lam raped & murdered, then placed in the water tower to remove traces of evidence, DNA? Why were Elisa Lam's temporary hotel roommates weren't ever questioned?
Is there CCTV footage from the time Elisa Lam was in the Hotel room/moved to a new room?
I enjoyed reading this book, but I feel like the author sometimes waffled on about stuff that wasn't always relevant to the Cecil Hotel, but it as relevant to the 1920's & 1930's since the Cecil Hotel was built in 1924 but it made reading the book sometimes boring or tedious to read.
I'm happy that this book was written and I was able to purchase copy of it and to read it, since the Cecil Hotel has always been really interesting to me, due to it's dark, macabre, disturbing history as a low-rent affordable Hotel & the dak aura the Hotel has.
This book is about 10 murderous/serial killer couples, some may be familiar to you if you are British & interested in true crime.
Some of the murderous, serial killer couples mentioned in this book are infamous, well-known for all the wrong reasons.
The victims should always be remembered and treated with respect.
For anyone that's American you might be more familiar with the American serial killers that are mentioned in this book.
There should be a trigger warning for graphic details about what the serial killer couples did to their victims, it can be disgusting & disturbing to read about, so you have been warned.
I think in my opinion that there are a lot of external & internal factors that help to shape, mould a person into who they become as a person from a young age, they are very easily influenced by their environment, how the are treated, especially in terms of the opinion, perception & attitude their family members have.
The nature versus nurture argument is valid and would apply to these serial killer/murderous couples, that have some deep psychological, mental, emotional issues that maybe the result of growing up in a abusive household.
Abuse is various types of abuse though, neglect, rejection, hatred of a child that's unwanted, unloved & discarded by one or both the parents is part of it as well.
I'm not saying that being abused excuses or justifies what any of the murderous, serial killer couples did that are mentioned in this book, that's not my intention at all, but it would explain at least why they are who they are as a person.
Not all serial killers were abused and not all people that were abused grow up to kill people, but there will be signs of psychopathy, sadism, cruelty, narcissism & violent behaviour that manifests at a young age.
I didn't expect a lot of the murderous couples in the book to be the type of serial killers that are predatory, sexual sadists, sexual narcissists that would target women & children.
The deviancy, sexual depravity, sexual sadism is sick and disturbing, none of the victims deserved what happened to them.
A lot of the serial killer couples in this book were sexually motivated, a sexual sadist, sadistic, cruel, predatory, sexually deviant, depraved, rapists, murderers, some are a necrophile and cannibal as well. A common theme in a serial killer's life is having a severe head injury, which may have cause, a skull fracture, brain damage, it affected their brain negatively, it totally changed their personality so they become more volatile, violent, angry, aggressive.
This was a difficult book to read, i'm not particularly interested in serial killers that lure, kidnap, torture, rape and murder children, it makes me feel physically sick.
True crime will always be interesting to me, i'm happy that more unsolved crimes, murders, suspicious deaths are being solved, with the advancement of technology, help from the general public & internet sleuths/armchair detectives online are helping to bring people to justice and conclusively solve crimes, murders, serial killer cases that were never solved.
Frederick & Rosemary West:
This murderous, incestuous couple are infamous as serial killers, for all the sick things they did to young, innocent, vulnerable women and children, which included some of their own children.
I have watch documentaries about the couple, and a tv series called Appropriate Adult, there are also numerous books about them as a couple and individual books about them as well.
It's sick and disturbing what they did to innocent people, especially to their own children.
Susan & James Carson:
This American serial killer couple were in a cult known as the “Witch Killer Cult” and they murdered three people that they believed were witches.
They are known as the “ San Francisco Witch KIllers”
They both heavily abused drugs, which lead to them developing psychosis
(they are out of touch with reality, delusional and hallucinating due to the hallucinogenic drugs they were taking frequently) convicted for three murders between 1981 and 1983 in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area.
The murderous couple murdered three people during their drug-fuelled insanity.
They share a psychotic disorder also known as (Folie à Deux) they are both sadistic, psychotic murderers and they both have the same ideology, feed each others delusions, beliefs, fantasies, ideas.
James A.K.A Michael “Bear” Carson is the dominant, controlling, manipulative, coercive person in the relationship, while Susan A.K.A Suzan is the compliant, submissive, easier to control, manipulate, coerce, deceive, or abuse in various ways, but she is a willing participant to the crimes they committed, because she fully believed what she was doing was right or justified in her mind/mindset, or way of thining.
She was just as influential & manipulative to Michael in the same way he was to her.
It's unusual to have a nocturnal wedding, during a full moon, and at Stonehenge I've not heard of that type of wedding before, but I like the sound of a nocturnal wedding, it's a unique idea at least.
They were convicted of the murders they committed, but are suspected of more murders in Europe since they travelled to various countries, including England.
They are unrepentant serial killers/murderers.
Paul Bernardo & Karla Homolka:
Serial rapists/serial killer Canadian couple, they aren't the only Canadian serial killers though, Robert Pickton is a prevalent serial killer, that murdered women and fed their corpses to his pigs on his farm. There would be no trae of evidence left, no body to find.
This couple of rapists/serial killers are particularly heinous, sexual sadists, sexual narcissists, and they committed disgusting crimes.
I will never understand why any woman would think that a person like Paul Bernardo was attractive, other than if they are a Hybristophile or suffer from folie à deux.
Paul Bernardo is Canadian rapist (he is known as the Scarborough rapist) in Ontario, Canada and a serial killer alongside his willing accomplice, partner in crime Karla Homolka who was his girlfriend, then wife she was a willing participant in documenting the rape, murder of women, which included Karla's sister Tammy due to Karla not being a virgin when she married Paul Bernardo.
This was always a major issue to Paul Bernardo, since it must of reminded him of his mother's infidelity with a ex, so he hated his mother for that, for also being told that he is/was a bastard child and who he thought was his real biological father wasn't his real father.
He hates women, hence why he was the Scarborough rapist of vulnerable, innocent women.
It absolutely disgusts me that Karla Homolka was given a lenient sentence, due to agreeing to a plea bargain, and pressing charges against Paul Bernardo, who was verbally/emotionally abusive, controlling, possessing, owning Karla and dominating every aspect of her life, or who she was a person. However she was a willing participant in the crimes they committed together.
It really disgusts me, that Karla Homolka was released from prison & allowed to live a normal life, to get married and have three children.
I already know who this disgusting couple, due to watching a documentary and reading a book about them.
Henry Lee Lucas & Ottis Toole:
American serial killers that worked together to lure their victims, and horrifically murder them.
Henry Lee Lucas was known for being a pathological, and boastful liar, he liked the attention, infamy, and the shocked public to know of the horrible things he did to his victims.
It's disgusting to m that police departments encouraged, or coerced Henry Lee Lucas to confess to crimes that were unsolved, that he didn't commit just so they could close the case with insufficient, inaccurate or false information they gained from a false, coerced confession.
It's unreliable, and he was just boasting for attention and to make it seem like he killed a lot more people than he did.
In my opinion the methodology of how the victims of serial killers were killed is just as important as the number of victims.
I don't always understand why the media only focuses on the number of victims of a serial killer & not on the methodology, modus operandi, or behaviour of the serial killer, their attitude, opinion, perception or viewpoint, worldview they had of the world, and people in society in general.
Cindy Hendy & David Parker Ray:
Known as the “The Toy box” American serial killer that was helped by his daughter who was known as Jesse Ray to kidnap, rape, torture and murder women.
He had a lifetime dream of creating his own modified, mobile torture chamber/sex dungeon that he called his “toy box” This is why he is known as the “toy box” killer.
He is infamous for recording a horrific message that was played for his captive female victims to hear, so they would now all the sexually sadistic, torture that they would subject their victims to.
He recorded/documented the torture of his victims, the videotapes were found by the FBI.
The fact there is even a possibility that David Parker Ray may have made snuff films, to sell and make a profit from, deeply disturbs me.
It's creepy how long David Parker Ray, was kidnapping, torturing, raping his victims for a long period of time, before he was caught due to one of his victims luckily escaping and reporting what he did to her to the police.
Carol Bundy & Doug Clark:
“The Sunset Strip Killers” They preyed on women specifically, Carol bundy was a willing participant and she helped Doug Clark commit sick, disturbing, horrific, peadophilic crimes.
Both were a sexual sadist and they were eager to enact the bizarre, disturbing and sick fantasies they had.
Monique Olivier & Michel Fourniret:
“The Ogre of the Ardennes” This disgusting murderous couple was unpleasant to read about and it is especially disgusting that Michel Fourniret had the disturbing moniker of “the virgin hunter”
His wife was just as cold-hearted, evil nd predatory as her husband.
It's disturbing that Monique used the fact that she was pregnant, to lure innocent women, or children to help her, due to be pregnant, this is very predatory, cunning and manipulative.
They are one of the worse, sick murderous couples to read about in this book, it makes me feel physically sick to read about predatory murderers, serial killers that are predatory, murderers of children, women animals.
Gwendolyn Graham & Catherine May Wood:
American serial killers that were nursing assistants & a murderous lesbian couple they were convicted of killing five elderly patients at the Alpine Manor nursing home.
The women worked in Walker, Michigan, which is a suburb of Grand Rapids, the 5 murders & 5 attempted murders occured in 1987.
Alton Coleman & Debra Brown:
Serial KIller couple that went on a killing spree. Alton Coleman, is a serial rapist, that ha violent, perverse fantasies that became increasing more perverse, violent overtime, until he couldn't control his sexual urges, sexual appetite and he enacted his disturbing sexual urges, fantasies onto his unsuspecting victims, that were lured, kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered.
The victims were women & children.
Debra Brown, was a simple person, due to suffering from a head injury that caused her to be mentally impaired, easy to coerce, due to being prone to manipulation.
Due to suffering dependent personality disorder, it made her very impressionable, easy to coerce, manipulate, pressure, control, abuse and to take advantage of her, especially due to her extreme attachment to other people.
I don't understand why someone who is mentally impaired like her would be a willing accomplice to Alton Coleman, she had no criminal conviction, history of violence, she wasn't abused but she was just as sadistic, deviant and perverse like Alton Coleman is.
Myra Hindley & Ian Brady:
In my opinion, this couple and Fred & Rosemary West are the worst, most sexually depraved, deviant, sadistic murderous/serial killer couple that are infamous and the most well-known.
The Moors murderers, they lured, kidnapped, tortured, sexually abused/raped children, took photographs and recorded sound to document what they did for their perverse, sick pleasure.
The photographs were their sick trophies.
Ian Brady was interested in Nazi ideology, he identified with their fascist, totalitarian, racist beliefs.
Myra Hindley's was just as sadistic, deviant and depraved asIan Brady, she was a willing participant, in the crimes they committed.
Her brother-in-law David Smith was unfortunately the witness to the horrific, disturbing murder of Edward Evans with a axe or hatchet.
There is a book about this horrible, disturbing incident, which was originally called Witness but the name of the book was changed to Evil Revelations.
They believed he was a like-minded person and confessed to him about their crimes, he was very disturbed, & understandably terrified by this and immediately went to the police.
It's very disturbing to me, that they recorded the torture, rape, murder of a little girl and people had to listen to this horrific recording in court and it traumatized people forever it's sick, and evil.
Sadly Keith Bennett's body hasn't been discovered.
Based on the way Ian Brady's behaviour is described he seems like he suffers thintermittant, explosive disorder, when a person, has very volatile, violent, outbursts of anger that they can't control. I'm glad of these sick, perverted, sexual deviants, serial killer couples were caught, convicted of their crimes and some have died i prison or committed suicide.
This book is about the history & belief in werewolves, shapeshifters, which includes vampires.
One of the reasons that I bought this book is due to my interest in werewolves, shapeshifters & the historical belief & fear of them, I love werewolf lore, folklore, mythology.
The cover of the book was another reason that I bought this book, it has a beautiful cover, I love the medieval depiction of a werewolf that was used for the cover of the book, it's realistic of what a werewolf would look like devouring a helpless human being that is their prey.
Belief in werewolves, shapeshifters, were-animals has existed for various centuries & in various cultures. Were-animals aren't mentioned as much as shapeshifters, werewolves, shapeshifting Shamans, witches etc.. There are various types of were-animals that are believed to exist.
There are various cultures that believe in werewolves, shapeshifters, beings/entities that take various forms, including animals, they mimic humans and prey on humans in various ways.
There have been many sightings of bipedal (a animal that can walk upright on two legs)/quadrupedal (a animal that walks on four legs, or uses it's arms/legs to walk with all their limbs) dogmen, werewolves in England, America and various other places in the world.
In Ancient Rome, there is the legend of King Lycaon, he was cursed to take the form of a werewolf for testing Zeus' omniscience by serving the roasted flesh of his own butchered son Nyctimus.
He did this to see if Zeus really was all-knowing which he is, Zeus was obviously greatly offended and disgusted by this so he cursed King Lycaon to take the form of a wolf/werewolf.
Even if there are problematic, questionable things that some Deities have done, I still respect them & I respect their wisdom/guidance.
I'm not saying that a Deity taking the form of a animal to seduce & rape a mortal man or woman, is acceptable behaviour because obviously it isn't. It is seduction, rape & beastiality.
It must of been difficult for the Greek Gods/Goddesses to show themselves to the mortal humans that believed in them, worshipped them which is probably why they took the form of a animal, to show themselves to a mortal.
Their true form would be too immense, powerful for a mortal to see, so it was easier to seduce and mortal they were attracted to, felt lustful towards in a animal form.
Seduction & rape are too different things though.
Why is there so much seduction & rape in the Greek mythology?
It's a bit disturbing how frequently it happens.
King Arthur was a infamous Celtic warrior-king that was eventually sadly killed by the
Anglo-Saxons.
He killed mythological creatures, with his sword known as Excalibur, that the lady of the lake helped him to find & he pulled the infamous sword out of a stone.
Odin (The All-father is the father of the Norse Gods & Goddesses in the nine realms, he wanders the nine realms dressed like a wandering traveler, he is very wise, protective of his children.
Odin gave up one of his eyes for wisdom/knowledge and hanged himself from Yggdrasill
(the sacred world tree, the tree of life and death)
He has his pets ravens Huginn (thought) & Muninn (memory), his horse Sleipnir
(a eight legged horse) and his wolves Geri & Freki.
I always see Odin (the All-father) with his pets/companions when I have visions of him & Norse Gods/Godesses when i'm in a deep meditative state during meditation.
Odin is a comforting, wise & protective Norse Deity, you don't have to have Norse blood to be a Norse heathen/ Norse Pagan, but at least 6% of people in England have Norse blood.
Native American beliefs in shapeshifting witches, entities, beings, elementals, Shamans practicing witchcraft
(medicine men & women that helped the people in the tribe with spiritual sickness, they helped people in the astral realm as well) wearing animal pelts, taking on the traits or spirit of the animal or possessing animals has always interested me.
They believe in beings called a Wendigo (a cannibalistic being that can possess a human, then thy suffer from wendigo psychosis and feel compelled, a compulsion to consume human flesh.
If they consume the heart of a human being, then they become the Wendigo, but it is a being/entity that is cursed to never feel satisfied or full after eating, it's hunger is never satiated)
There is a well-known case of a man named Jack Fiddler, an Oji-Cree chief & shaman known for his powers at defeating Wendigos was living in a cabin with his family, they were low on food and starving, the man was suffering from Wendigo psychosis & cannibalized his family, there was a source of food not far away from where he was living sadly.
People engage in psychotic cannibalism, ritualized cannibalism.
There is also the Skinwalker (the Navajo, Algonquin/other tribes believe in) which is a shapeshifting, Shaman witch that takes the form of animals, mimics humans to lure them away from safety.
It is spiritually harmful, it doesn't have good intentions & it's predatory.
It isn't spoken about, because it draws it's attention to you & brings it into your life, it is a being/entity, powerful Shaman witch that should be feared if you believe in them, weather you are a Native or not.
The Native Americans believe in animal spirit guides, animal totems as a protective symbol, animals have significance in various ways in Native American culture, they can be symbolic, a warning, or omen, or a sign from their Deities, like the Coyote spirit, or Mother/Father Deity they believe in.
Native Americans believe in shapeshifting, evil entities, beings, elementals, nature related spirits that protect the land.
I really hate how the author keeps referring to shapeshifters and Native American Shamans as just male, since shapeshifters are also female, a Native American Shaman can be a man or a woman.
The Japanese/Korean Kitsune is a female shapeshifter, some female Deities take the form of a animal. The author seems a bit sexist, in my opinion. Goddesses are just as important as Gods.
The Berserkergang behaviour of the Norse Berserkers after consuming a hallucinogenic fungi, is similar to possession in my opinion, due to their strength, rage, violence that takes over them, then they are enfeebled for one or several days afterwards.
The Berserkers wore the animal pets of wolves, bear and other ferocious animals to absorb the traits of those animals, I believe they were possessed by the animals they wore the animal pelt of, or the Norse Gods/Goddesses possessed them during battle.
There are various types and races of Aliens, but their shapeshifting abilities aren't really mentioned much. Angels, demons and entities also have shapeshifting abilities/powers, which can be used to deceive, trick people, to harm them, or to intervene and help or protect someone that is vulnerable, in need or in spiritual or physical danger.
One of the aspects of this book that I really like it is it includes various pantheons, from different countries/cultures, the European belief in werewolves, shapeshifters or their own version of a werewolf like the Southern American Cajun belief of the Rougarou, or the French Loup-garou.
The lore, mythology, folklore of werewolves has existed in the world, and in various countries/cultures for centuries.
I wish more books were like this book and included various pantheons, or the European belief, lore, mythology, folklore & the spiritual practices, occult related beliefs/practices related to werewolves, shapeshifters.
It's very interesting to me, a lot of urban legends, folklore, mythology, fables, fairy tales has a moral lesson, that is still relevant in the modern world.
I wish there was a similar book to this about Vampires, Witches, Warlocks etc..
One aspect of shapeshifting that probably won't be mentioned in this book is the spiritual aspect of transformation & shapeshifting in the astral realm, you can have a animal form, or any form you choose in the astral realm.
If you have the bones or pelt (skin/fur of a animal) you can absorb the traits of the animal, obtain the spirit of the animal or become possessed by it in human form during a ritual.
Shapeshifters can take any animal, human form or the form of a inanimate object so they can trick humans, deceive them easily.
I really like the descriptions of what people experienced, felt and saw when various people encountered a shapeshifter(s), there are various cultures/countries that believe witchcraft is real, that different types of magick are real. The description of the cannibalistic shapeshifter was really creepy. I don't think most people would be able to discern the difference between a human being and a shapeshifter that took the form of a human being, but one thing that would seem of about the shapeshifter is the way it behaves, because it mimics a human being.
The Skinwalker is a good example of that.
Various cultures/countries have their own version of a Shaman witch, that can physically or astrally shapeshift, they take on the traits o the animals and they ae possessed by them, in the same way any practitioner of witchcraft becomes possessed by a Deity during a ritual dance, celebration, spellwork/ritual. They obtain knowledge directly from the divine Deities they believe in and worship.
There are different ways to shapeshift, astrally, you can shapeshift and take the form of a animal, physically you can summon the spirit of the animal, and physically take their form while they possess you, and internal, psychological transformation/shapeshifting.
Shaman witches wear animal pelts, take on the traits of a animal, so that is a physical and internal psychological transformation/shapeshifting, either they are possessed by the animal they take the form of or they channel the energy of the animal during meditation and sacred rituals.
Shapeshifters are real, there have been hundreds of sightings of them throughout the world in various countries/cultures throughout history and in the modern world.
For anyone that doesn't know David Icke is a holocaust denier, I don't trust or want to to know the opinion of someone that denies that a disturbing amount of European Jewish people, including German-Jewish people, (500000) Roma (Romani) and Sinti were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators, the mentally/physically disabled, mentally ill, P.O.W'S, African American people or anyone gay were tortured and murdered. The Gypsies that were murdered is rarely ever mentioned.
It's disgusting to deny it actually happened, when it did happen sadly.
The portion of chapter 3 about Psychology and Cal Gustav Jung was really interesting, I wish there was a book about the psychological aspects of clinical Lycanthropy, shapeshifters and internal mental/physical transformation/shapeshifting.
Psychology has always been really interesting to me.
The chapters about the Fae/Faeries, Japanese shapeshifters/demonic beings or human spirits that became shapeshifters is interesting, there are various types of shapeshifters, beings, entities, elementals that can transform their form into a person, animal, or inanimate objects.
This is sometimes done to trick humans into helping them with a task, for them to be freed or because they had the evil intention to murder the human that helped them, to consume them.
They were lured by the shapeshifter in a attractive, appealing form to the human they attempt to gain the trust of.
Rarely is the ability of Vampires to transform/shapeshift into the form of a animal or the psychic powers & elemental powers they have.
Some Vampires were thought to rise from their grave via astral projection to feed on the blood & energy of the living while they were asleep, people are most vulnerable then, to psychic & astral attack while they sleep.
I really like the description of spirits, demons, shapeshifters from Japanese mythology & folklore, it's really interesting that various countries, cultures and pantheons have their own version of a spirit, being, entity, demon, or shapeshifter that can take the form of a person, animal, or inanimate object.
They have various purposes, motivations and the origin of their existence is sometimes unknown.
Norse, Greek, Japanese mythology, folklore is my favourite mythology, folklore about shapeshifters and werewolves, or beings & entities that can shapeshift into the form of a human, animal or inanimate object.
This is the only book I have read so far that says about the shapeshifting abilities of werewolves & vampires. I wish there was a book that would explain the supernatural, psychic and elemental powers/abilities that werewolves & vampires have.
Vlad Tepes (Vlad the impaler) the Romanian Wallachian prince was a hero/tyrant too his own people he is revered and hated by some people, but he will forever remain a iconic person in Romanian history.
Vlad and his brother Radu were given to the Ottoman turks, they were raped, so Vlad impaled his enemies which included his own people as a act of revenge, or when his sense of honesty, sexual morality was betrayed or he felt people in general were immoral in a sexual context.
While imprisoned Vlad the impaler impaled spiders, he always had the compulsion for impalement, but there s no historical evidence that he was a vampire or that he consumed blood.
He was decapitated, his head was taken to Constantinople as proof that he was dead, the rest of his body is buried at Lake Snagov near Bucharest or in a tomb in Italy, bur it hasn't been officially confirmed, though there is speculation about this.
He probably wouldn't have approved of the Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory then, torturing, mutilating the victims in various ways which included biting the victims, bathing in their blood & murdering the virgin servant girls that were peasants and eventually the virginal female children of Nobility.
This continued until, Elizabeth Bathory was tried and convicted in 1611 of the torture, mutilation, murders of the virginal peasants/young women that were the children of Nobility.
Her intention for biting her victims, consuming their blood, bathing in the blood of virgins was to preserve her youth & beauty, I don't understand why she never tried to gain immortality, because she was vampiric, it always seemed to me like she would have wanted to be a vampire, or to be immortal.
There is lot of speculation about the number of victims, due to there being no official, accurate historical record of what Elizabeth Bathory did to her victims, but she shall remain infamous forever. She was walled up in her castle, and left there to die as a punishment, for what she did to her victims.
As a long-term fan of vampires, werewolves i'm offended by the author comparing Anne Rice's iconic character Lestat De Lioncourt to Twilight?
Your comparing Lestat to emotionally stunted, moody teenage vampires that can't even express their emotions properly and the sparkle in the sunlight?
They aren't even real vampires, they don't sparkle in the sunlight, they live a undead existence and the blood, energy or sexual energy from a living soul, a living person sustains them & their existence.
How are even in the same leagues as each other? Thee is no comparison at all.
I'm actually offended as a fan of Anne Rice, I think it's disrespectful, since Anne Rice sadly passed away.
How do you have the audacity to compare Lestat to fucking Twilight characters?
This book is about the infamous legend of Goatman's Bridge A.K.A (Old Alton Bridge) in Denton, Texas in America.
The bridge & forest is haunted, Satanists summon demons, for a evil purpose.
Occultists & Satanists doing Satanic rituals, practicing black magick, sacrificing animals, as a offerings for demons.
It's believed to be the cause for the presence of the Satyr, demonic entity/being people have encountered on the bridge or in the forest near the Old Alton Bridge.
The Goatman is a Satyr (half-man, half-goat) demonic entity, various people have encountered/seen the Goatman, including the author.
There's speculation about if Oscar Washburn was a real African-American person that was lynched by the KKK klansmen.
The Ghost Adventures episode about the Goatman's Bridge, they captured a creepy entity on camera, creepy glowing eyes are seen in the darkness, near where there's a portal.
A entity punched the wife of one of the Ghost Adventures crew members in the face, it was influencing her emotionally/influencing her & making her feel
angry/influencing/controlling/possessing her & making her want to be violent.
Whatever you believe about the Goatman's Bridge, forest, people are going out into the forest late at night to summon demons, entities, elementals, making a offering, sacrifice or altar to them for a evil purpose.
Be careful going to places associated with demons, Occultists, Satanists, black magick practitioners, have unknown intentions.
Don't interfere with people's beliefs, spiritual/occult practices, mock/judge/shame them for it because you don't understand, follow or resonate with their spiritual path, it's not for everyone for various reasons.
A ley line that exists & runs through the Goatman's Bridge & forest.
A ley line is a natural source of energy/power in the earth, various ley lines exist in the world.
The author & people at Goatman's Bridge during a ghost tour genuinely saw & encountered the Satyr Goatman, demonic entity/being.
It's protective of the bridge, land, forest, it's a being/entity of nature & associated with the Greek God Dionysus or the God Pan.
Elementals are spirits/beings/entities of nature, aren't human, can be demonic, but they're guardians/protectors of nature itself.
Bigfoot is a elemental, & protects forests, woods, nature.
Elementals can be summoned with witchcraft, anyone that's summoned a elemental.
Elementals can be destructive, harmful, since it was summoned for a evil purpose, whoever summoned the elemental doesn't have good intentions towards humanity .
Wiccans obey the “Three-Fold Law” what you send out will return to you x3 (Positive or negative energy, intention, will, sent out into the universe will be returned to you)
The author described different types of witchcraft people practice.
People don't understand witchcraft represents Gaia (mother nature) the elements (earth, air, fire, water, spirit or it's sometimes known as ether) & cycles of nature
(birth, death, rebirth, renewal) So all the Sabbats, Equinoxes, Solstices', Celebrations are related to the elements & cycles of nature.
It's creepy some people have been attacked during the Goatman's Bridge ghost tours.
I don't think provoking the spirit named “Steve” is a good idea, especially due to their hatred, indifference/intolerance towards women.
I believe the spirit “Steve” or the Goatman attacked Ashley, she saw the glowing eyes of a entity when she went into the woods alone & challenged/provoked the Goatman/the spirit named Steve.
The creepy sighting of the entity the Ghost Adventures team caught on camera is the Goatman & the portal is near where the glowing eyes were seen.
It's otherworldly, a entity, a demonic Satyr being/entity, it's not human.
Spiritual & demonic attachments can be gradual, over time & can lead to possession.
Possession can be temporary, partial possession or full-blown possession, a spirit, entity or demon can possess a person, animal, inanimate object.
They attach themselves to your aura/energy & drain your energy, influence you which can lead to possession & it's why it follows you home, why it's attached to you/why you are haunted not your house being haunted.
They like your aura/energy, sensitivity to their energy/presence/influence of their energy.
Spirits, entities, demons feel drawn to people due to their energy, psychic awareness, psychic abilities, sensitivity to different types of energy.
The chapters about Satanic worship, people practicing black magick, Satanic witchcraft, sacrificing animals, making altars, summoning demons, offering their blood/animal blood as a offering/blood sacrifice, to demons & elementals is really interesting.
People should be careful to not always assume that the spirit of a child is a actual child's spirit, because demons can/will appear as something familiar to deceive you & lure you into a false sense of security.
The sightings of people in hooded robes, during the Ghost Adventures crew paranormal investigation, or throughout the forest near the Goatman's bridge, unexplained photographs of unknown beings/entities are really creepy.
The author is sensitive to energy, had visions, spirits have showed her in her mind while communicating with spirits, or being in the forest during the Goatman's Bridge ghost tours.
The author has the potential to be a medium. She is sensitive to different types of energy, respectful of spirits, entities, demons, evil spirits, elementals/Native American spirits at the Goatman's Bridge/the forest.
There are ancient spirits of the land, that protect the forest, including Bigfoot, they are guardians/protectors of the Goatman's Bridge, forest & the land.
The Goatman Satyr demonic entity/being is real, here are spirits, evil spirits, demons, entities, elementals, Native American spirits, Bigfoot are there in the Forest & on Goatman's Bridge.
Unknown intentions of the Occultists & Satanists, witches that go to the Goatman's Bridge & forest to perform rituals, summoning demons, elementals & offering/animal/blood sacrifice to summon & invite in evil, to open a portal to summon/invite in evil is creepy.
This was a fun, interesting & creepy book to read, I wasn't disappointed.
I've seen the Ghost Adventures episode about the Goatman's Bridge, the bridge the forest, definitely has a creepy, otherworldly vibe/energy about it, there is a portal or vortex there.
The Goatman's Bridge definitely has a similar vibe to the Aokigahara forest (also known as the suicide forest) in Japan, something is luring people to either location, it's influencing people, to commit suicide, or to engage in the occult, to sacrifice animals, people, to commit horrific crimes.
People historically left their elderly relatives in the forest, they couldn't afford to look after them, so they abandoned in the Aokigahara forest to fend for themselves, they died there.
Something similar is happening at the Aokigahara forest in Japan, Yokai (Japanese Ogre/Demons) & Yurei (Japanese human spirits) are luring people to the forest, influencing people to act on their self-destructive impulse/compulsion to harm themselves or commit suicide.
The same thing is happening at the Goatman's Bridge, it would explain why some people have gone to the Goatman's Bridge & inexplicably committed suicide.
This book is about a man named William Ramsey, that was possessed by a Demonic entity or spirit of a wolf since the age of 9.
Lycanthropy is the transformation & shapeshifting of a man or woman into the form of a wolf, a werewolf specifically.
Clinical Lycanthropy is a delusional belief/mental illness that involves a man or woman believing they will physically shapeshift into the form of a wolf or werewolf which is impossible hence why it is considered to be a delusional belief, or mental illness.
However i've always believed that werewolves, bipedal dogmen/cryptids are real or that you can shapeshift into the form of a wolf or werewolf spiritually or astrally, so in the astral realm you would be a werewolf.
No can physically shapeshift into the form of a wolf, werewolf or other animals, you can only shapeshift spiritually or astrally, although the Native American Shamans shapeshifted into animals and believed in werewolves.
There is also werewolf magick, that is very primal, animalistic form of magick and involves nature.
The man in the book is possessed by a demon, which makes the man become a werewolf, and adopt the animalistic, primal, predatory hunter instincts of a werewolf in it's rawest form.
I wish there was a book about the Ed & Lorraine Warren case about the woman that was possessed by a demon, it made the woman become vampiric, she attacked people in a cemetery and drank their blood.
The description of the nurse hearing the weird footsteps, the unexplained scraping sound, while outside in the fog, smoking a cigarette is really creepy.
Preternatural strength, unexplained outbursts of extreme rage, anger or extreme violence is a sign of Demonic possession.
I'm curious if the man was ever cursed by a witch, they sent a demon to possess him and then he was becoming a Demonic werewolf a “wolfman”
The man exhibited the animalistic, primal rage of a wolf or werewolf which is very strange for a human being to act like that unless they are possessed or cursed by a witch that practices black magick, or Satanic witchcraft specifically.
There is a werewolf ritual in a book Anton LaVey wrote, not exactly sure why it was a ritual he created since he was a atheistic Satanist, that didn't believe Satan was real.
He wouldn't have believed in spirituality, werewolf mythology/folklore, werewolf lore or cryptozoology, so why is there a werewolf ritual?
In my opinion Ed Warren can seem judgemental of William David Ramsey, he might have just be a simple, ordinary man, but extraordinary, creepy and unexplained, paranormal, occult related things happen to so-called ordinary people all the time.
Demons are known for causing nightmares, altering the perception of the person they are oppressing, influencing and possessing & altering their perception of other people.
They are likely to be attached to the energy/aura of a person that is repressed, suppresses their emotions or desires, anyone that is vulnerable or sensitive to energy, susceptible to it & the demon is feeding on their fear, anger, rage, and influencing them emotionally, mentally.
Demons influence people in multiple ways, they create discord, strife, arguments that lead to violence, murder/death to separate, the intended person they want to possess, so they are isolated, alone, vulnerable to the influence of the demon, easier to manipulate, control & possess.
However demons have to be invited, the same applies to Vampires so how did William become possessed in the first place? This is a conundrum but intriguing nonetheless.
Another explanation for why demons might be in a person's life is if they have experienced a lot of pain, trauma, bullying, abuse, physical, emotional, sexual abuse/sexual trauma, suffering in some way, shape or form.
Physical violence/physical abuse, sexual abuse/sexual trauma, anything that a person feels ashamed about and they try to repress or suppress it attracts demons.
They feed on the pain, suffering, trauma, including sexual trauma of humans, it gives them a entry into a person's life automatically because they already experienced a lot of pain, trauma, abuse, suffering, they are more likely to be vulnerable, easier to coerce, control, manipulate, to lie to.
William is attempting to repress/suppress a painful or traumatic memory that he doesn't want to remember, the demon would know what this is when it possessed him as a child.
Every time he feels the influence of the demon, he feels cold, he has visions of wolves, of himself as a wolf, in a animalistic form.
He isn't mentally ill, he is Demonically possessed and a exorcism instead of going to a mental hospital is the only thing that would help him since it is a spiritual problem not a mental health issue.
Demonic possession is gradual, it happens overtime and becomes progressively worse.
A possessed person is not aware they are possessed at the time they are possessed so if they are fully possessed they would have no memory of being possessed.
It's normal for a possessed person to have outbursts of extreme anger/rage, what is described as “murderous rage”, they want to inspire people to act on their impulses, secret desires, which is why a Demonically possessed person would commit murder, and other violent crimes.
It's different when a person is partially possessed, I have been partially possessed in the past, I remember it happening so it gives me a weird vibe, a weird feeling.
I know from experiencing partial possession that demons are real, powerful, they can be potentially spiritually harmful to anyone naive, or anyone that underestimates how powerful theses ancient, primordial, interdimensional demonic entities/beings are.
There is a lot of trivial, insignificant information that is not relevant to William Ramsey, or how/why he has been possessed since he was 9 years old, which is boring and tedious to read.
What does two policemen having a premonition/preemptive intuitive, bad feeling, bad vibe about their own deaths have to do with the main subject of the book?
I fail to see what relevance it has to William Ramsey being possessed by a demon.
The section of the book that explains more about Ed & Lorraine Warren is really interesting, I already who they are, but i've always wanted to read their books or visit their Museum of haunted, Occult related objects & to see the now infamous possessed Raggedy Anne doll named Annabelle (which is possessed & animated by a demon that pretended to be the spirit of a child to lure people into a false sense of security, to gain their trust by appearing as something ordinary or familiar to them)
Demons trick people in multiple ways, they are intelligent ancient, Demonic entities/beings that are not human, they were never born in the same way a human being was born.)
They exist in multiple dimensions, realms at the same time hence why they are interdimensional entities/beings.
As a British person it warms my heart to know that Ed & Lorraine Warren considered England to be their second home :)
It's really sad to me at least that both Ed & Lorraine have both died R.I.P Ed & Lorraine Warren, your knowledge/experience is very helpful, interesting, inspiring to a lot of people.
I like the black & white photos of actors that portrayed werewolves in films, The Wolfman (1941) Universal Monsters film is one of my favourite werewolf films.
William Ramsey is becoming more and more out of control, violent and this is due to the demon influencing, possessing and controlling him, since he has little to no memory of his sporadic violent behaviour, this is a sign of possession, extreme, volatile violence, preternatural strength, no memory of the outbursts of rage, unexplained bursts of energy.
The demon over time is gaining more control, influence over William Ramsey until it fully possess him, but he is partially possessed, he still has some control, over his thoughts, feelings, behaviour and state of mind until the Demon takes control and violently hurts people, in a animalistic, primal rage.
I can see why some people skeptical & don't always believe that Ed & Lorraine Warren are genuine or trustworthy, since there are conflicting or controversial things about Ed & Lorraine Warren, but I think they were genuine people, that helped a lot of people.
People should read the Ed & Lorraine Warren books, investigate the cases they were involved in and form their own opinion about the cases they investigated.
Believe what you want to believe, or don't believe, it's your choice, you have free will.
I genuinely believe that William Ramsey was possessed by a Demonic entity or spirit of a wolf, that made him become a werewolf in human form, it's evident in his behaviour, state of mind, lack of memory, preternatural strength, murderous, primal/animalistic rage, animalistic, savage, violent behaviour, like a predatory animal, like a wolf.
“Murders and prostitution makes a reporter's' life worthwhile”
The author talks about murders & prostitution like it's something reporters benefit/make profit from which is absolutely disgusting.
Reporters are fucking, disgusting vultures that have no respect or empathy for humanity at all!
All they care about is sensationalizing a story, embellishing it and blowing it out of proportion, to take things out of context to make it seem more interesting than it is.
It's no different to the Penny Dreadfuls of Victorian London, people love blood, gory, they want to know all the gory, disgusting details.
The Victorians of London were just as bloodthirsty as the people of Ancient Rome, in the Gladiatorial Arenas.
The minor, trivial details in the book, are boring/tedious to read, I can't wait till i've finished reading this book.
The book has been interesting to read, it shows how Demonic possession, is gradual/over time it get progressively worse, the demon will gain more control, influence over the possessed person.
The periods in which the possessed person is violent, inexplicably will increase, they will have less control, and little to no memory at all of their behaviour, because they are possessed
(if mental illness, psychotic behaviour related to a mental illness, personality disorder is not the cause for the person's behaviour)
There are stages of a person that is haunted or a house that is haunted that lead up to Demonic possession.
1-Manifestation, 2-Oppression 3-Influence, 4-Demonic possession.
It can manifest i multiple ways, usually in a negative, very violent way, animals can be harmed, so can children & adults.
Everyone is vulnerable to the oppression, influence of a demon.
One of the easiest methods that leads to Demonic possession is using a Ouija Board, practicing witchcraft, but not protecting your energy, you sacred space, disrespecting the dead, spirits, entities, and demons, mocking/provoking them, your asking for trouble if/when people do this.
Not believing in Satan or demons, doesn't protect you from them the same applies to evil spirits, entities, devils, demons, elementals etc..
Just because you don't see any physical evidence of their existence, it doesn't mean they are not real, they are real I know from what I have experienced.
I've had a lot of paranormal/occult related experiences, so I can say with 100% certainty that spirits, entities, demons are real.
They can be potentially harmful, people need to be careful, about what they say, do, spiritually/magically (magick-practicing witchcraft).
Be careful with your intentions, you can manifest your intentions into reality without doing any spell or ritual, I've done that in the past, I got exactly what I was wishing for, exactly the way I wished for it.
I didn't do any spell or ritual, but I manifested my intention into reality just by wishing for it.
Just be careful.
It's strange that the reporter Chuck Vogel was afflicted by seeing a pentagram on his forehead that no one else could see.
The dark, oppressive energy & evil vibe he felt/sensed when he entered the church after ignoring the warning of the priest, is a warning from demons, that he wasn't welcome there and should leave.
Demons don't always visually show themselves to humanity but when they do it's usually not for a good purpose.
He got proof of the existence of demons, and probably regrets it now.
I hope he learned his lesson, he shouldn't have tried to interfere with the exorcism of William Ramsey.
Not all exorcisms are successful, sometimes it results in the death of the possessed person sadly.
I've always been curious what happens to the soul of a possessed person, if they die during a exorcism.
It's nice that the Ed & Lorraine Warren helped William Ramsey with a exorcism, they recognised that William Ramsey was Demonically possessed, but then started to doubt the validity of the Demonic possession.
Demonic Possession is a spiritual problem, as long as mental health issues is ruled out then it is considered paranormal.
I'm happy that William Ramsey got the spiritual help that he needed and now him and his family are okay, they are happy.
This is the second book I have bought/read about “The Milwaukee Cannibal” Jeffrey Dahmer.
I intend to read the books My Friend Dahmer, The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer & other books as well.
There is a Netflix series called Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer that will be available soon.
My Friend Dahmer is accurate film/book about Jeffrey Dahmer as a teenager.
I've already read a book about Jeffrey Dahmer that was gruesome to read written by Jack Rosewood.
Any book about Jeffrey Dahmer will include very graphic descriptions of rape, murder, mutilation of a still living person(s), the mutilation, cannibalisation of their corpses.
Jeffrey Dahmer had a shrine of the decapitated heads/skulls of his victims, he practiced dark magick.
The author inaccurately & incorrectly says that Richard Kuklinski is the “Unabomber” but Richard Kuklinski is known as “The Iceman” Mafia hitman (there is a book, film & documentary about him)
“The Unabomber” was Ted Kaczynski & he was a victim of the MK Ultra brutalizing psychological experiments programming/torture method of the CIA.
Everyone knows this, a quick Google search would tell you so, it should be edited/corrected in the book. No hate towards the author, it's just inaccurate and incorrect.
Jeffrey Dahmer committed 17 murders, but was only convicted for 15 murders which is a bit strange.
After his trial/convictions for at least 15 of his 17 murders, he was in solitary confinement for his own safety due to be intensely hated by other inmates/convicts in the prison.
He was attacked more than once, the inmates/convicts were disgusted by his crimes, dark, cruel sense of humour.
He made his food look like his victims, used ketchup to simulate blood which is a prime example of his dark, sick, cruel sense of humour.
He never felt any empathy, remorse for his victims/premeditated crimes, he was unrepentant, he didn't care at all, he may have believed in his way of thinking, that he didn't do anything wrong.
His crimes, behaviour, sense of humour disgusted, disturbed the inmates/convicts in the prison.
While cleaning toilets he was attacked/murdered by a convicted schizophrenic murderer who bludgeoned, beat up Jeffrey Dahmer, he didn't fight back and defend himself, he was taken to hospital and he died a hour later.
He was cremated, his ashes were shared by his parents Joyce & Lionel Dahmer.
His brother David has never publicly talked about his brother Jeffrey Dahmer, he doesn't want to be associated with him and the horrific, disgusting, disturbing crimes he committed.
He even changed his surname, to further distance himself from any association with him.
For a shy/reserved and mild mannered person, he hid his very dark, sick, perverse & disturbing fantasies from everyone he was friends including his family.
They had no idea until it was too late, they were horrified by the disturbing, disgusting things he did to young men & young boys.
He lacked the social skills required to ever have any meaningful or lasting friendship/relationship.
He had difficulty in relating to other people, he attempted to make friends but he was always considered to be weird, a freak, someone that was a outcast, a loner, that was ridiculed for being weird or different.
On the surface to me he always seemed like a shy, introverted person with social anxiety, but maybe he sometimes pretended to be like that to lure people into a false sense of security to gain their trust as well.
I believe this was one of the reasons, that he felt, isolated, alienated, lonely, frustrated, angry and the best way for him to express the way he thought or felt was his violent, dark, sick fantasies, his premeditated crimes. He spent a lot of time by himself, which enabled him to cultivate his fantasies, what turned him on, to perfect his modus operandi, enact his fantasies in real life, that horrified, disgusted and anguished humanity.
They had no idea of the extent of his depravity, of what he was really capable of, the fact that he acted so normal and ordinary is very disturbing.
The types of sick, very vivid fantasies he had took a lot of time to cultivate over time, until he couldn't take it anymore, just having a fantasy wasn't enough, he wanted to act on his disturbing impulses & sick fantasies.
Some of the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer had their bones ground up & scattered behind the house he was living in at the time, during his murderous rampage, i'm not sure if he did that to all of his victims or only some of them.
So there would be no trace of them left, except tiny, microscopic ground up bone fragments.
Some bone fragments were found, during a forensic/police thorough search of the place where Jeffrey Dahmer was living by himself, after his parents abandoned him at the age of 18.
Over time Jeffrey Dahmer became sloppy, he was comfortable in his position of power over young men and boys, he may have believed that people would never discover his secret, dark double he lived, but I also believe that he became tired of killing & wanted to eventually to be caught.
It's always disturbing to me how matter-of-fact he describes what he did to his victims or why he did it, like what he was talking about it was a ordinary conversation whenever he was interviewed about his horrific, sick & disturbing crimes.
His methodology, reasons for what he did & why he did it, his state of mind, the dark, violent fantasies he had since he was a child will always disturb, disgust & fascinate me.
Not everyone is fit to be a parent or actually good at parenting either.
Jeffrey Dahmer's mother Joyce sounds like she is a controlling narcissist, that has Daddy issues, due to her constant need for reassurance, approval, acceptance, being reassured that she is loved, wanted, needed.
Her alcoholic dad didn't spend time with her, or make it obvious that he loved & cared about her, so as a adult she is needy, emotionally dependant on other people.
She felt lonely, abandoned, ignored, neglected while she was growing up which lead to her becoming needy and always seeking reassurance, which some people would describe as being attention-seeking type of behaviour.
So I can see why Jeffrey might act in a similar way, when he grew up in a unstable family dynamic and neither parent seems to be empathetic, both his parents are wrapped up in their own little worlds, distant, emotionally unavailable.
So it would make sense, that he feels alone, unwanted, abandoned and lonely as a child then as a teenager & adult.
Overwhelming loneliness/being a misunderstood loner were the main aspects that lead him to commit the horrific crimes he committed.
He is similar to Dennis Nilsen he was also a necrophile, that murdered men due to being extremely lonely.
His behaviour is related to being isolated, reserved, withdrawn, shy, lonely, a antisocial loner.
Jeffrey Dahmer started drinking alcohol at 11-12 years old and became a alcoholic by the time he was 14 years old.
Things escalated from there, he became a alcoholic, a predator towards children, young men/young underage boys.
He became a alcoholic at 14 years old he was already feeling severe depression and anxiety as a teenager, when he was 15-16 years old and becoming fascinated/obsessed with death, dissecting roadkill/animals, doing experiments on animals/dissecting them.
He wanted to know what they looked like on the inside, how they worked.
His crimes were due to overwhelming loneliness, being a loner, misunderstood or possibly not accepted by other people for being gay, since his dad wouldn't have accepted him for who he was.
His was predatory towards anyone underage or vulnerable, his crimes were sexually motivated sado-sexual crimes.
The victims were innocent they should be treated with respect and remembered.
He could have been successful, happy but instead he was a self-destructive, self-saboteur, he would rather just accept failure & not wanted to be disappointed due to hating disappointment.
His father was also, shy, bullied/tormented and had the intention/desire to start fires and hurt people that tormented him, so in my opinion both his parents contributed to Jeffrey Dahmer becoming the “Milwaukee Cannibal”
The fact that his father had the intention to start fires, hurt people that hurt/bullied him says a lot about inherited genes, behaviour, nature versus nurture.
If one or both parents have a predilection for violence, then the child is more likely to grow up to become violent themself, especially when they grown up in a unstable/unhappy home environment, so the child spends all their time alone or with their siblings to avoid violence, conflict.
A child would retreat into their own fantasy land, their own private world where they feel safe, so I can understand how overtime, the more a child is spending in their fantasy world in their mind, the more detached from reality they become, until it develops into delusions, mental illness.
I think part of the problem during his childhood, the way he was raised was due to him being alone a lot, especially when his parents were divorced he was abandoned.
Children have the right to live in a safe environment & live peacefully with/without the influence of their parents in a positive or negative way.
I think even if a serial killer wasn't abused, they are still scarred by something that has happened in their life in the past, that has deeply hurt them a wound that can't be healed, a defining moment that they can't forgotten, some type of injustice, they were wronged, fucked over by someone/something they would want justified revenge for.
It's the reason they feel hatred towards humanity, why they don't feel empathy, why it's easier for them to be a cold-blooded monster.
He was living with his grandma for some time, until they became suspicious and cautious of where he was going, what he was doing while he was living there, eventually they asked him to leave.
Both his parents didn't really have time for him, ignored him most of the time, didn't make a effort as a parent to engage with Jeffrey, ask him how he was, how school was going, simple things like that.
If you suspect something is wrong with your child, why wouldn't you talk to them or ask if they are okay?
Why don't parents seem to do this, they are your child, you are responsible for them, you brought them into the world, you can't just reject, abandon them, treat them like they don't exist, ignore their existence, like some parents do.
He was isolated & spent to much time by himself, which allowed him to develop his imagination, and perverse, sick fantasies that he had and obviously thought about a lot while he was growing up.
Over time he is cultivating his persona, modus operandi, his predatory nature/apex predator instincts to lure, stalk and hunt his prey. Young men/underage boys/boys specifically.
After attempting to go to the college Jeffrey Dahmer dropped out after 3 months, due to his extreme alcoholism, self-sabotage, he then enlisted to be in the US Army, he was stationed in Germany for three years.
However things didn't go well, due to his attitude, behaviour, alcoholism & torture/sexual assault of two soldiers.
One of them is forever scarred/damaged by what he endured, the horrific experience of being tortured/raped by Jeffrey Dahmer.
It's sad that this poor man, suffered & will be forever scarred by what Jeffrey Dahmer did to him.
I think it shows the incompetence of the police at the time Jeffrey Dahmer, was hunting/stalking Milwaukee for potential victims, that they believed him when one of his victims escaped and tried to get help from the police.
It sickens, disgusts & infuriates me, how incompetent, dismissive, wilfully ignorant the police were.
Sadly the victim did not survive, what Jeffrey Dahmer did to them.
If the Police officers even bothered to find out the identity or age of Konerak Sinthasomphone, or looked at the polaroid photos on his wall, looked in his bedroom, they would have seen evidence of hs previous victims.
They would have known that Konerak was only 14 years old and saw the decomposing corpse of one of his victims laying on the floor of his bedroom!
They didn't want to get involved due to Jeffrey Dahmer being gay though which is ridiculous, stupid, insulting to his victims, and absolutely disgusting.
This section of the book, or in any film or series about Jeffrey Dahmer always infuriates me, it's really pisses me off, I can't even imagine what the family members of the victims felt/still feel now about this now.
None of the victims deserved to be drugged with sleeping pills, raped, mutilated, butchered, cannibalized, for any part of them to be preserved in formaldehyde, kept as a macabre trophy on his shrine of death.
All victims of crimes that are still alive & a survivor or including the victims that were horrifically tortured, raped, murdered should be remembered and respected.
It's creepy to me that Jeffrey Dahmer, after being released from prison/having psychological assessments/tests done that he murdered his second victim 24 year Steven Tuomi.
I think it shows the incompetence of the police at the time Jeffrey Dahmer, was hunting/stalking Milwaukee for potential victims, that they believed him when one of his victims escaped and tried to get help from the police.
It sickens, disgusts & infuriates me, how incompetent, dismissive, wilfully ignorant the Milwaukee police were at the time Jeffrey Dahmer's crimes occurred.
Sadly the victim did not survive what Jeffrey Dahmer did to them, none of his victims survived, but one potential victim did escape.
Not all of his victims were gay, but some of his victims were underage.
This section of the book, or in any film or series about Jeffrey Dahmer always infuriates me, it's really pisses me off, I can't even imagine what the family members of the victims felt/still feel now about this now. I can't even imagine, the pain, anger, disgust or feeling of injustice the family members or friends of the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer must of felt at the time, or still feel now.
I think the more you try to prevent a sexual predator, sexual sadist, psychopath from committing crimes, engaging in their fantasies, by conditioning their behaviour, the more they will want to engage in their sick fantasies, predatory, violent sexual behaviour/impulses.
Any psychological assessment, therapy or conditioning of Jeffrey Dahmer's mind did nothing to improve his state of mind, or to stop him from thinking about very dark & disturbing things that he wanted to do.
Even if he wasn't turned on by his fantasies, or what he did to his 17 victims, I think that it was sexually satisfying for him to totally control, dominate, own/possess his victim, consume a part of them so they would be with him forever.
He liked the whole process of, stalking, prowling for his potential victims, drugging, incapacitating them, so they have no control, they can't resist, run away or ever leave.
His crimes, were sexually motivated, they were also motivated by Jeffrey Dahmer feeling extreme loneliness, isolation, he wanted to have friends, companionship, he wanted to be loved.
He liked the process of the rape, butchering/mutilating his victims corpses, documenting it in polaroid photographs (the police found these when they were investigating his apartment)
I think if Jeffrey Dahmer grew up in a normal, stable household, his parents paid attention to him, loved him and spent time with him he, he would still grow up to be who he became, a predatory, sexually motivated, necrophile, cannibal & serial killer.
A lot of women read true crime, to learn what red flags in the behaviour of a man or woman to look out for, pay attention to especially when something feels off about them, something doesn't seem right, or their behaviour, attitude, demeanor doesn't match up with what they say, it's a red flag!
Pay attention to the red flags, the things people don't say, if their intentions seem questionable, or unknown, if they have a violent, unpredictable anger, a darkside that you don't like, if you don't feel comfortable around them, then trust your intuition, and avoid them or cut them out of your life, because you never know they could literally be a serial killer.
A lot of people read true crime to learn what red flags to pay attention to in a the behaviour of men or women. Always trust your intuition, instincts.
I appreciate anyone that reads/likes my book reviews. I always give my honest/authentic opinion :)
Unfortunately I had to edit my review because it was too long, but I hope people still read my book review.
The Celtic, Pagan & Druid origins of Samhain (A.K.A Halloween or All-Hallows Eve)
Samhain the festival of fire, the feast of the dead, the end of the harvest, a time to give thanks to their Deities, to honour the Deities they believed in, respected & worshipped and a time to respect & honour the dead.
All Soul's Day was a Christian holiday celebrated after Samhain/Halloween they would pray for people that they believed were in purgatory.
To open a doorway to the Otherworld and welcome in the spirits of the ancestors, Deities and the dead loved ones, the spirits were guided back home a candles was placed in the windowsill to help guide spirits back to their home and they were welcomed, they were give a warm welcome
(the hearth was lit), food to eat.
There is a difference between Samhain (The Celtic, Pagan or Druid celebration or festival of fire the harvest festival, and as a memento mori remembrance, honour and respect of the dead, their ancestors) & Halloween (it is the trivial, superficial, diluted version of Samhain and in my opinion the original meaning, customs, beliefs of Samhain has been forgotten, or it is not respected by everyone)
To Celtic people believed in honouring their ancestors and the dead & they also protected themselves from evil or evil spirits that could be potentially harmful during or after Samhain.
Samhain is the new year for Witches, the dark half of the rest of the year, the harvest festival, the end of the harvest season.
Samhain is associated with divination
(To gain knowledge of the future via meditation/going into a trance)
Necromancy-
(Death magick-a type of witchcraft that involves summoning spirits, divination of the future, working with the essence, spirit or embodiment of death, including animal spirits, familiars, servitors, human spirits) animal sacrifice, blood sacrifice for the Deities they believe in, respect & worship.
People originally worn masks on Samhain so they wouldn't be confused for the dead, it would scare away the spirits that were free to roam the earth because the veil between the living & the realm of the dead was very thin and it allowed the dead to return.
A Scottish tradition known as “Guising” people disguising themselves, so they would blend in with any wandering spirits and remain safe from harm.
After performing tricks or songs, guisers were given gifts to help ward off evil.
This is why we wear a mask, or a costume/disguise to protect yourself and ward off evil, or harmful spirits on Samhain/Halloween.
Samhain is usually celebrated from October 31st- 1st of November.
(One to three days celebration, depending on which calendar you use and if you were Celtic, Pagan, a Druid or Christian)
The Origin of Samhain has always existed in ancient, England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales it wasn't originally started by America like they seem to think they created everything when they didn't.
Irish immigrants fled Ireland in the 1840's to escape the potato famine they chose to go to America.
Irish immigrants brought the customs, beliefs of Samhain with them when they immigrated to America in the 19th century.
Scottish & Irish immigrants were in America at the time & they brought with them their spiritual beliefs, customs and Samhain traditions.
Jack-O-Lanterns (carved pumpkins that were hollowed out and a candle was placed inside it, originally it was carved turnips. (the turnips were used due to people being poor at the time)
America adopted the idea of celebrating Halloween in the 19th century but they seem to forget that most modern celebrations of Halloween are based on Celtic, Pagan & Druid traditions & spiritual beliefs/practices.
Celebrating your birthday, making a wish and blowing out a candle is Pagan, a lot of things that are part of modern Christianity is Pagan/borrowed from Paganism so Christianity is a man-made & made up religion that's not 100% original. (Just my opinion)
I like the way America celebrates Halloween but I think they should respect the origin of Samhain since celebrating Halloween is based on ancient festival Samhain.
The original traditions of Samhain have become very trivial, superficial which is sad, the modern celebration of Halloween is separate from the original spiritual beliefs, customs & traditions & the original meaning of Samhain or relevance of Samhain.
Why can't people just respect the original Celtic, Pagan, Druids beliefs, spiritual practices & customs, traditions even if you don't believe in it in the modern world.
Witchcraft is real, people respect, honour, their ancestors, carry on their traditions, they respect & honour the dead, give thanks for their prosperous harvest & welcome in the new year.
One thing that is very prevalent in this book is Christianity, the dismissive, hateful, disrespectful way they thought of and treated anyone that at the time was a Celtic, Pagan or Druid.
The way the Christians deliberately tried to discredit, disrespect & demonize the spiritual beliefs/spiritual practices of the Celts, Pagans & Druids disgusts me.
What right have the Christians to try to take away the beliefs/spiritual practices of the Celts, Pagans & Druids, to vilify their beliefs & practices or to make their own version of a festival, celebration based on their beliefs?
If the Christians hated the Celtic, Pagans or Druids so much, then why is most of Christianity in the modern world “borrowed” from Paganism?
If you demonize their beliefs/spiritual practices, are hateful, fearful because you don't understand or even attempt to understand due to willful ignorance & have no tolerance of them as a tribe of people, then why would you want to adopt some of their spiritual practices & beliefs?
This doesn't make any sense to me, Christians historically hated/feared, vilified, demonized anyone they described & labelled as a “heathen” “heretic” “witch” “savage”etc..
People always hate & fear what they don't understand, but due to being willfully ignorant they don't even want to try to learn & understand a alternative belief, religion or spiritual practice that is separate or different to Christianity.
Just because the Celtic, Pagans & Druids believed in a different pantheon of Gods & Goddesses that doesn't make any of these tribes of people evil, or bad in any way, it's just a alternative belief system, and Christians will always, inaccurately, unfairly judge other people, including the Native Americans, Witches or anyone that was Psychic, a Seer, Mystic, Oracle etc..
This historical hatred, intolerance, unjustified fear or misunderstanding of particular tribes/clans of people has lead to the modern hatred of Christianity and it's the main reason a minority of people are either not religious at all, or they believe in alternative Gods/Goddesses & thy are a witch.
Christianity is and always will be a problematic religion, is is misogynistic, narcissistic and toxic towards women, intolerant of woman historically unless they are literally a slave and in the modern world.
The intolerance, hate, fearmongering in a attempt to convert people to believe in a God that they didn't believe in disgusts me.
Cultural & ethnic genocide or forcing tribes/clans of “heathens” “savages” to convert & believe in the God you believe just because you believe in them is disgusting, people had freewill historically, and people have freewill now to decide what resonates with them spiritually.
They have the right and freewill to decide what resonates with them spiritually and which pantheon of Gods & Goddesses they want to believe in, that resonates with them and no can tell you otherwise that you are wrong for following your own path spiritually.
I really hate the Christian hatred, fearmongering, intolerance of anyone that is not a Christian that blindly follows the religion, blindly believes in God when Christianity is a man-made religion.
Fearmongering anyone that is either a atheist non-believer or not religious, or anyone that believes in alternatives Gods & Goddesses is not ever going to work, because people have freewill, you have no right to take that away from anyone, you have no right to take away anyone beliefs, spiritual practices, customs or to demonize them as a person, as a tribe/clan or just because you don't understand them & naturally hate & fear what you don't understand so you automatically reject it as being false or not trustworthy.
If you always trust you intuition you can't be wrong.
So be proud of your ancestry, family bloodline, heritage, your origins historically, spiritually, be proud to be Celtic, Pagan, Druid, heathen, witch, psychic, medium, empath, Shaman, Healer etc..
Not everything is American in it's origin, design, or creation, but Americans seem to like to take credit for anything that was created by other people, it's very arrogant, boastful & disrespectful.
Give credit where credit is due and respect other people traditions, cultures, our spiritual practices, beliefs or customs that are unique to various places in the world.
So far this book has been interesting to read despite not knowing how to pronounce the names of some of the Deities, places in Ireland or spiritual beliefs that the ancient Irish people believed in, I have to Google how to pronounce specific things from the book.
I'm British so we don't have as many traditional spiritual beliefs, customs & practices for Samhain, but I already knew what the Samhain festival, celebration is before reading this book.
Some customs, beliefs for Samhain still exist in England, but it depends what you believe, a lot of countries have their own version of celebrating Samhain, or a similar festival annually.
Now that I have read this book, I wish I could find a book about the ancient-modern European belief, customs or spiritual practices for Samhain or similar festivals like the Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the dead) 3 day celebrated festival in Mexico in honour & respect to their dead relatives, ancestors. Various cultures throughout different eras of time, respect & honour the dead or their ancestors.
Hopefully my review of this book will help people to understand what Samhain is, what it is about, why is is celebrated & should be respected, the Celtic, Pagan, or Druid origins of Samhain.
Clive Barker one of my favourite authors & the creator of Pinhead & Candyman released his creation Hellraiser in 1987 (the year I was born so I was destined to be a horror fan!)
I was lucky enough to find this book randomly on Etsy, I am very happy that it was available and I didn't know that the book was signed by Clive Barker until I started reading the book, so it made me very happy.
Pinhead is on of my favourite iconic characters
(I know Clive Barker refers to Pinhead as “The Black Pope of Hell” or the “Angel of Suffering” but he is otherwise known as Pinhead worldwide now)
I love the artwork, photographs, posters that are used in this book, I'm also very happy that the book is Signed by Clive Barker since I am a big fan of him and his artwork, short stories and films.
Pinhead, the Cenobites are very iconic, recognizable worldwide and they have a lot of fans.
I have always loved the sadomasochistic, gothic, demonic aesthetic that the cenobites have it is very unique and interesting.
I'm curious if the Cenobites would be considered to be interdimensional demons and if Pinhead would rule the realm that the Cenobites exist in or come from when they are summoned with the lament configuration box/puzzle.
In my opinion Pinhead & the Cenobites are either a necessary evil or neutral, in their approach to humanity since Pinhead is considered to be “a angel to some & a demon to others” he is similar to Lucifer. Loved, hated & feared.
The Cenobites represent all your darkest fantasies, dreams, secret desires that you have but would never admit to. They embrace pain, suffering, they endure & enjoy their on pain and suffering and the pain and suffering of others, to enable to metamorphosize themselves and transcend their human limitations to become something more, beyond just being a mere human, and mortal.
It's about enduring pain, suffering to transform, to be reborn, restored, made whole again, so they would be limitless as a human or as a Cenobite, the dream world/nightmare world of humanity has no limit of possibilities for suffering for the Cenobites.
They know what you desire, what you secretly want, what you fear.
The Cenobites are very similar to demons.
As a person that is a submissive, masochist, I can relate to this a lot.
Doug Bradley is one of my favourite actors, I like his narration for horror stories known as Spinechillers.
I wish he would record some more of them and read work written by Edgar Allan Poe or H.P. Lovecraft.
I always loved the dark, nightmarish realm that the Cenobites exist in, i'm not sure if it represents a aspect of Hell but it is very interesting to me.
This was a interesting book to read about the first three Hellraiser films, being made in the series of Hellraiser films and about the creation of Pinhead & the Cenobites by Clive Barker & portrayed by Doug Bradley in the films.
I still want to know more about the female Cenobites, if the Cenobites are immortal or considered to be a demonic Deities/Gods in their realm.
Like a lot of fans of the Hellraiser series I have various questions about Pinhead & the Cenobites. There are various graphic novels which I sadly haven't had the chance to read because they are very rare or hard to find now, but I have read The Hellbound Heart, which I liked and read in one day.
Hopefully more books about the Hellraiser films will be published about the making of the films, the creation of more male & female Cenobites in the future.
I would love to read the Hellraiser graphic novels, I wish they were reprinted and sold in a updated collection in hardcover that would great.
I have enjoyed reading this book due to liking anything that is dark, macabre, creepy, disturbing, weird or unexplained, it inspires my dark and vivid imagination.
It's interesting to read about murderers that are a Cannibal, Vampire or or Werewolf that I haven't always heard of.
This book is not for the squeamish or the faint of heart, and there is a entry about specific animals beings eaten as well, so if you can handle the gruesome & gut wrenching graphic detail in this type of book, either don't read it or listen to a audiobook version of it, so you can at least pause it if you get overwhelmed, or feel physically sick like I did while reading this book.
My favourites are:
“Ethne the Dread”
“The Rough Grey Dog-man”
“The Monster of East Lothian”
“Sawney Beane” (Alexander “Sawney” Beane)
“Bluebeard” A.K.A (Gilles de Rais)
“The Werewolf of Dole”
“The Blood countess” or “The Bloody Countess” (Elizabeth Bathory)
“The Witches' Pie”
“The Edinburgh Body-Snatcher”
“The Demon Barber of Paris”
“The Custom of the sea”
“The Bread & Butter Brides”
“The Düsseldorf Monster”
(Peter Kürten A.K.A “The Düsseldorf Vampire”)
” The Vampire Killer” (“The Acid Bath Murderer”) John George Haigh
“The Psycho-Killer” A.K.A “The Butcher of Plainfield” Ed Gein
“The Cannibal of Bois De Bolougne” (Issei Sagawa)
“The man that made zombies” (Zombified sex slaves)
“The Milwaukee Cannibal” Jeffrey Dahmer
“The Ripper of Rostov” Andrei Chikatilo
“Satan's Disciples”
“The Internet Cannibal” (Armin Meiwes used the Dark Web to access the “Cannibal Café”)
“The real Hannibal Lector?”
I'm surprised that there hasn't been any entry so far about a cannibal or Vampire murderer that specifically drank the blood of babies, infants or animals blood.
Or the symbolic aspect of Christianity that is Vampiric & Cannibalistic.
Gilles de Rais was a cannibal, Vampire, that was a Occultist/Satanist & he practiced black magick, he committed Vampirism & Cannibalism as part of a ritual, to summon demons.
He used Alchemy to attempt to create gold to gain more wealth for himself.
Except possibly Elizabeth Bathory he is the only other
cannibal-vampire/Occultist/Satanist that was a cannibal & vampire for a spiritual reason & purpose.
The spiritual aspect of Vampirism, Cannibalism or Lycanthropy is not often mentioned but it is interesting to me at least to read about.
I'm not sure why Elizabeth Bathory never attempted to gain immortality because it seems like she would have wanted to live forever if it was possible.
Some of the entries about cannibals in the book are disturbing and disgusting to read about, Gilles de Rais, Elizabeth Bathory, Ethne the Dread and the cannibal troops the “Babe-eaters” & “Bloodybones” as they were referred to.
So if you don't like reading about people historically & ritualistically sacrificing babies, children, animals drinking their blood or eating them then maybe this book isn't for you.
It made me feel sick & disgusted sometimes, but I have a dark and vivid imagination so it inspires my dark & vivid imagination
My review is for a first edition paperback version of the book that is signed by the author.
Warning: there are incidents explained in the book that involves animal cruelty, animals being hurt, sacrificed in a ritualistic way so don't read the book if you're not okay with that.
In my opinion it doesn't help that any newspaper that existed in the 1960's & 1970's that was reporting the news of any incident involving the occult was sensationalised to gain more attention. This has contributed to locals teenagers in the Clophill village & surrounding areas that are aware of the incidents involving the occult & they are fascinated, obsessed with witchcraft to want to go to the St. Mary's church ruins. However not everyone has good intentions though and they don't respect the dead/the privacy of family members that are buried in the cemetary.
This book is heartwrenching to read due to people owning a pet and losing them but then seeing the spectral/astral form of theie pet gives them hope. One of the sadest stories to read was the ypung child that owned a pet cat that they don't know what hapened to, when the cat returned and rushed it's nose against her face it was very sad to read.
This book has made me cry a lot, because it reminds me of my previous pets a rabbit and a cat that became very sick and had to be put to sleep.
My favourite story was about the dog that appeared during the seance to drink a lot of water.
The story about the haunted lighthouse was creepy, and the fact that cat remains were found and put on display disturbs me.
The chapter about the Griffith park zoo made me feel disgusted and sick just reading it i'm psychic & a empath so reading about animals suffering, in pain or being harmed by a spirit, entity or human makes me feel sick. I never understood why a writer wants to write about a animal being harmed, or why animls being hurt, abused, experimented on or killed is shown in horror films, it's disgusting!
I never understood why people refer to a animal as a “beast” either they are a beautiful living animal/creature that has a soul and they deserve respect, love & affection from humans.
I am happy that some barbaric zoos and circuses do not exist anymore because it is absolutely disgusting the way they treated the animals like a prop to be used, pocked, prodded and gawked at..
“The haunted horses” is one of my favourites stories so far because it was bizarre. Abbadon is the name of a demon you can research in your own time, their name is in books about Demonology.
The being that took the horses is a imp (the lowest rank/hierachy of demons) a goblin or dwarf are completely different types of beings/supernatural creatures. I believe that the black stallions were possessed henxe why they calmed down after being blessed by the priest with holy water.
I wish the story of “Black Shuck” was included but it isn't a pet it is a hellhound that collects souls for the devil. It is bad luck to see it, and it means you or someone you know will die soon.
I don't like some of the aspects of the stories that involve hunting animals, because it makes me feel sick and it is disgusting.
“The Wolf Girl” story was interesting and I love wolves, but I didn't like the fact that people would wanted to harm the wolf pup.
“The wolf guardian angel” This story was unique, I have never heard if a guardian angel apoearing as a wolf to protect a person, but guardian angels can probably take a familiar form to humans.
Wolves, bears, eagles are significant to Native Americans they are a protective animal totem (a protective animal spirit) you can have or many animal spirit guides. Medicine men or women (Shamans) wore a animal pelt to take the form of that animal. They can help people in the astral realm, with spiritual sickness. It didn't say if the girl from the story that rescued the wolf pup is Native American but it still has significance spiritually.
“The witch and the blackbird” Unfortunately prejudice even historically is still a issue. It's really sad that men & women were villified, demonised, judged harshly and accused of being a witch without that ever being confirmed.
People are disrespectful to the dead, and then wonder why they are haunted by the spirit of the tormented person, leave the dead alone, respect the dead. The blackbird was the “familiar” of the witch (a protective guardian/servitor they were either a animal, spirit or a demon)
I think it is disgusting, unfair to judge the character of a person soley based on the way they look, it creates a inaccurate portrayal of the person based on the perception of other people, but perception doesn't always reflect reality. People have different beliefs to you, they are from a different culture, so don't be prejudice, before you get to know them.
“Reincarnated pets” People have owned a pet but they have become very unwell and had to be put to sleep is very sad, it has happened to my own pets (my rabbit Shadow and my previous cat Tiger)
I understand how heart-wrenching it is to put your beloved pet/friend to sleep so they won't suffer anymore. I believe that the animals in these particular stories are a reincarnation of Otto, Petie.
The cat acts exactly like their pet would normally behave, they had the exact same mannerisms as the preious pet, the same personality.
“Trotty and the headless ghost” There is something sinister about animals being able to sense danger, evil spirits, or just evil in general that is creepy. This story was unsusual and really creepy to read because there is no explaination for why/how the woman had her head decapitated and why she carries her own head in a basket.
The fact that their head is alive despite being decapitated from their body and screaming, cursing, rolling around on the the ground really creeps me out. How is that even possible? This spirit in particular spunds like a trickster, evil spirit because it tricked the man into helping them and then offered their head for his kindness.
“Here” “Take this in payment for your kindness”
This type of spirit in particular seems like the type of spirit that would attach itself to people and torment them with their decapitated head.
“The ghosts of Ballybrig” The Ballybrig Castle was haunted by a elemental due to nature being disturbed it also disturbed the elemental thst then haunted the Castle. Elementals are a nature related spirit/entity that are not human & they protect nature.
The dog named “Pickle” sensed the presence of the elemental and something threw a ball from a bush back to the dog but no one saw what it was exactly.
They were advised to fill in the quarry which they did, then the haunting stopped.
The tower of London is a well-known place and it is definitely haunted. There was originally a menagerie before the first London Zoo existed. A menagerie is collection of wild animals such as lions, tigers and other animals that are wild like monkeys. The spirit if a bear has been seen by many people and at the time by a sentry.
They were afraid because they thought it was a real bear and they attempted to stab the bear with a bayonet, but it went through the bear and into a wall behind them. The spirit of the bear vanished before his eyes. Queen Anne Boleyn and other spirits associsted with her nave also been seen as well. The Jewel Tower Menagerie closed in (1835) before the first London Zoo was opened and the animals were moved there.
The ghost chicken of Highgate Cemetary (London)
Two men in 1926 were discussing the best way to preserve meat, at the time there were local farms so they bought a chicken.
The chocken was killed and plucked of it's feathers and put in a sack full of snow and it was also buried in snow as well.
Since then people have seen the naked spirit of a chicken that dissappears when they try to catch it.
“Possessed” This chapter was interesting & creepy to read.
The verge large rabbit Ralph that was ravenous for food, does seem to be possessed by a “ghoul” (a graveyard being that exists, they consume the dead. Ghouls are associated with the Djinn in middle-Eastern countries)
Ravenous hunger is a sign of possession in a human or a animal.
The cat that was possessed and died, was controlled by a demon. possessed I truly believe they were possessed.
The story about the basset hound, and the spirit could either be a human spirit, or a entity that either possessed or controlled the dog and tried to influence them to attack their owner.
The fact the house is 200 years old and considered a “demon house”
Or a “hotbed of evil” and bloody handprints were on a baby's crib is very disturbing indeed. I think the cat Lincoln Aurelius is possessed by a demon & a demon kitty.
Demons, spirits or entities can that the form of a animal or possess anything animate, or inanimate and control it because ot is a empty vessel and easy for them to manipulate, possess, control.
The story of the possessed groundhog “screaming like a child in excruciating pain” I have no exlanation for and the story was creepy to read. I enjoyed reading this book even though sometimes it made me feel sad & miss my pets that have died, it was worth reading and interesting. I wish there was a book about animate or inanimate objects that were possessed, controlled/animated by a spirit, entity or demon, or animals that saw them and were possessed by them.
This book is the same format as the other bizarre crimes book I read but not many of the crimes, murders mentioned were actually “bizarre” in nature/theme etc..
I am surprised that particular !urderers were not mentioned such as: Amelia Dyer (she susposely looked after children/babies but killed them instead to gain money from the children's parents)
The casanova killer (an American serial killer) Belle Gunness, the monster of Florence, the beasts of satan (Satanists in a metal band, from Italy)
I like reading about historical crime, modern crimes that are either solved, a miscarriage of justice with a wrongful conviction bevause a confessioj was obtained while the person was pressured/manipulated to confessed to something they didn't do.
I'm angered, frustrated by the fact that trained professionals, still don't properly seal off a crime scene where a murder(s) have occurred, so then the crime svene is contaminated, and any useable forensic evidence is rendered useless, due to multiple people touching it, or walking all over the crime scene. It also really pisses me off when the police don't take a woman/man seriously when they have a abusive relationship with their boyfriend/girlfriend and tje person is stalking them, threatening to harm them or themselves to be emotionally manipulative.
The same indifference & “victim shaming” can apply to the police when a woman has been molested, raped, beaten up and the police don't believe the victim, they shame the victim for their behaviour and try to find a reason to say thos is what caused it to happen. Why is necessary for the police to look at the phone of a rape victim, other than to “victim shame “ them.
It's disgusting that any police officer would ever have the audacity to feel like they are justified in “victim shaming” any man or woman ever, especially when they didn't care enough about the victim of any type of crime to at least treat them with respect. They act indifferent, and with supperiority like they have a point to proof, but the way they investigated the crime(s) is lazy, incompetent, especially when fake evidence is planted at a crime scene to frame someone for a crime they didn't commit. So people have “confirmation bias” so the most logical person that could of committed a crime, did commit a crime without fotensic evidence to back up their reason for arresting the person responsible for the crime. I don't particularly trust the police, due to them being corrupt, a rapist, or more recently a British police officer murdered a woman in England that is the same age as myself, it's disturbing & disgusting.
It is frustrating that even when there is forensic evidence, it still isn't enough evidence to prove the right person was at the scene of a crime/or to prove in court that they are the correct person that committed a crime and would be convicted, and sentenced to time in prison.
I enjoyed reading this book, but I wish it included more crimes that are actually “bizarre” otherwise the book title is misleading.
Information about the Zodiac serial killer is inaccurate, he never made a phone call and said about having headaches, it was a hoax and had nothing to do withe real Zodisc serial killer that was never caught or identified.
As a long-term reader of “true-crime” I don't consider a lot of the cases that are mentioned in this book to be “bizarre” not unless the method or reason for murder was absurd which for some of the crimes it was. It is disappointing that only one chapter of this book is about bizarre murders, I expected the whole book to be about bizarre murders, murders committed by deranged people, a group of people, a solitary person for unknown reasons, their motive is unknown, their mondset is disturbed, abnormal, delusional, or most terrifying of all they are completely sane and in control of their thoughts, behaviour or actions. The title of tje book is misleading, but it did include a lit of crimez, murders that iknow about, due to my interest in true crime, I do not idolise serial killkers, they are sick perverts, and sadists. I am interrested in criminal psychology, forensics, crime scene investigation, profiling of geographical location, behavioural analysis and psychological profiling of the mindset/state of mind of a murderer, serial killer, serial rapist or anyone that commits sadistic, ritualistic murder continously be ause they are addictrd to overpowering other people, and taking wjat they want from them and it's done in such a way that they would never stop. It fulfils a sadistic nedd they have because they are a psychopath. I like studyong psychology, sociology, mental illness, occult related beliefs, people are moulded by w hat they experience in their luves, it can have a good or negative affect on a person psychologically. The nature versus nurture dabate, i think it is a mixture of both that moulds a petson into being either a good and caring person or a sadistic sadist, narcissistic psychopath that uses person for their own gain, they like playing mind games to avoid boredom.
The night stalker (the mexican satanist, serial killer is a good example)
I think some of the most disturbing cases mentioned in the book would have to be cases that involved cruelty to animals (it is a fetish called zoophilia, it means some people want to have sex with animals unfortunately. There is also another fetish that involves people that want to have sex with dead animals, a animal they have killed, it is truely disgusting and it makes me feel sick, that people like that exist in the world. Some people in the the world really are a sick pervert and to them nothing is off limits to them)
Some truely bizarre or disturbing cases that could have been mentioned are the following; The beasts of satan (Italian satanic/occult related murders) Katherine Knight (She was a butcher in a abattoir, she butchered her husband and cooked him, she is described as the female version of hannibal lector.
Issei Sagawa (He is a Japanese man that murdered a woman and consumed her flesh, he never went to prison or was ever convivted for cannibalism, he was never arrested for murder, cannibalism)
The Hinterkaifeck family murders (This has never been solved, and remains mysterious and creepy, since a whole family were lured by a stranger into their barn and murdered)
The servant girl annihilator, the villisca axe murder house, one of the most disturbing cases was the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs (a group of Russian people that attacked homeless people, and random people. They viciously attacked people with a hammer and other items and filmed it while they murdered innocent and defenceless people, just because they could)
Luka magnotta (tortured cats while he filmed it and posted it online, he also murdered a man, stabbed him with a ice pick, decapitated him, violated his corpse, while performing necrophilic acts he recorded everything he did and also posted this online for attention. He planned to make other “movies” as he called them so more people would have been murdered, if it wasn't for online activists for animals rights, online slueths that wanted to solve it, he wouldn't have been caught.
As a animal lover i am grateful to them and what they did to stop this narcissistic, attention seeking maniac)
The documentary “don't fuck wih cats” explains what happened but it's not for the squeamish.
Crimes, murders that involves children and and any crime that involves cannibalism, necrophilia, dissection and disarticulation (decapitating the head is usually for the purpose of falasio if the murderer is a necrophile/and to prevent identification. Disarticulation means head is decapitated from the corpse and the removal of all other limbs as well) pedophilia, incest and any very violent crimes that are committed for no apparent reason or motive is terrifying and will always remain unexplained. Pnly the murderer(s) will know why they have done such horrific and disturbing things to one or more human beings, some people bevome addicted to murder a nd they think they are invincible, above the law and that no one will ever catch them. A lot of serial killers seem to admire Jack the ripper, Ted Bundy and other serial killers such as the Zodiac or the Texakana phantom (A.K.A the moonlight murders) because their identity is unknown and they were not caught, but now due to advances in DNA and microscopic DNA or trace DNA testing techniques some unsolved crimes from 40 years ago are being solved today and the murderer is convicted for their crimes. The golden state killer (the original night stalkkett or A.K.A the East area rapist was caught due to his DNA being found and tested which is connected to burglaries, rapes, murders over a long period of time and he was a former police officer so he knew how to avoid being caught, arrested and convicted for his crimes for a long timne. Sam Little is also a good example, he was able to avoud being caught for 40-50 years, he murdered close to 100 women andhe w as able to avoid being caught by using a different surname that he had. There will be a book published about him this year. I look forward to reading it. Some of the cases I read about pissed me off due to the red flags that were clearly obvious behavioural warning signs that would eventually and unfortunately lead to multiple molestations, rapes, murders. Another aspect of the crimes was/is contamination of evidence at the crime scenes, DNA evidence not even being tested to exonerate or find the perpetrator(s) of a crime or series of crimes, false confessions (this usually occurs due to hours of intense interrogation, they feel pressured to confess, so they confess under duress) wrongful convictions based on flimsy, circumstantial or non existent evidence and false eye witness testimony of the whereabouts, or the convicted person when it was false. With all the modern technology that exists why aren't more crimes being solved, more people being exonerated of guilt and pardoned for wrongful convictions or the correct person(s) convicted of the crime(s)? I will never understand why based on previous medical examinations, why a second opinion or reassessment of the victim is not looked at more thoroughly to conclusively solve and correctly diagnose the cause of death beyond any reasonable doubt? The case about the woman that was raped and beaten to death, it was clear just from reading the entry in the book that the victim was raped and beaten, from the bruises described. I'm not medically trained, but I can figure that out !myself just from reading the details.
The greatest miscarriage of justice is not solving a crime, but it is even more of a insult for a medically trained professional to Not even recognize clear signs of rape, a physical beating and murder. To not correctly determine how a person has died, or how they were murdered, so it is incorrectly documented and the person responsible gets away with rape and murder. It disgusts me how the authorities act, they either don't care, “victim shame” the victims of crime and murders committed by serial killers or the victims are not even treated like they are a human being.
Just because a man or woman is a exotic dancer, stripper, or prostitute it doesn't mean that they should be treated like they aren't “worthy” of being of being considered a missing person, or a family member, friend being able to report them missing, dead or their whereabouts unknown for a certain amount of time. A lot of cases that involve serial killers and prostitutes, are unsolved, cold cases unfortunately. I don't understand the mentality of the police sometimes they treat anyone involved in prostitution, like it is their so-called “lifestyle” but not everyone lives like that, it's also not something they choose to do by choice, they may be in debt, a junkie or they do it to make ends meet due to poverty . The more I read about serial killers that rape, murder prostitutes, the more sympathy I have for them, they are a victim of their circumstances unfortunately.
I haven't read the previous book about the same subject matter, but I will read the previous book and review it when I receive the book and read it.
I liked reading this book, but it is a bit annoying when it says to refer to particular information in the book instead of explaining any connection to vampires in (folklore, historical accounts of vampires, vampirisim or any superstitious, religious related beliefs that involves vampires)
Some historical cases of vampires could be added since it does involve a vampire or unsolved crime, that still remains unsolved today. “True crime” that involves vampires could also be added in this book or a separate book. “The Atlas vampire” is a well known case that wasn't mentioned in this book, but it is relevant to the content of the book. The explanation of Dhamphirs doesn't include the fact that they are a (half-human/half-vampire) creature that is the result of a human-vampire sexual union and they are the offspring of that union.
I would of the preferred it if the book was divided into separate sections for folklore, legends, lore, mythology, religious beliefs, and other sections such as art, writers-poets, artists, playwrights, film director's, actors etc..
The book is a endless list of information and there are no chapters to break up the ongoing information, but I have found this book interesting to read and I have learnt new information about vampires and the customs/beliefs of people in Europe historically, their spiritual/religious beliefs/superstitious beliefs & customs, but sometimes information in the book can be a little bit repetitive. Every time the author has mentioned a known “serial killer” he refers to them as a “mass murderer” which are two completely different types of murderers.
Mass murderers that have murderer a lot of people at once in a day such as blowing up a building with a bomb, or targeting a large group of people at a event/place due to the crime being racially/or involving prejudice due to race/nationality or sexual orientation of people of different ages.
Fritz Haarmann was a serial killer, that with the help of two people targeted and mutilated, raped, molested and murdered a lot of young boys over time, he never murdered a large number of people all at once which would make him or anyone a mass murderer. I
t is annoying that people don't seem the understand the difference between serial killer (sometimes called serial murderer) or a mass murderer.
Either the author/people in general don't seem to understand that a person that is necrophile (a person that engages in the act of necrophilia is called a necrophile/necrophiliac.
A lot of known serial killers are either a sexual sadist, necrophile or cannibal or all of those things as well as being a predatory serial killer) (A necrophile has the sexual desire/attraction, obsession or urge to have sexual intercourse with the corpse of a person they have either recently murdered, dug up from a desecrated grave or they are in a hospital morgue.
Necrophile's are sometimes a necrophagist (they have the desire to consume the flesh of a corpse & drink their blood)
They see the person as their possession, their property, they were their property to do with whatever they wanted when they were alive, the same applies after they are dead, some serial killers are lonely, delusional, mentally unhinged and disturbed.
They may treat the person like they are alive, talk to them, have a relationship with them, due to the person now being dead and a corpse they cannot say no.
They own them, they control what happens to the victim when they were alive and after they are used, mutilated, raped murdered, decapitated, or whatever the methodology the killer used is. Cannibals believe that if they cannibalised their victim that they would consume part of that person into them forever.
I can understand why vampires, werewolves, demons or cannibals could be thought to be vampiric or demonic in nature or connected to witchcraft/occultism-black magic or witchcraft that is darker in nature.
Some serial killers decapitate their victims, and keep their heads as a trophy, to remind them of their kill. Ted Bundy decapitated some of his victims and put makeup on their faces to make them look pretty again, after what he did to the victims.
There is a chilling interview that involves Ted Bundy talking about where he placed the decapitated head of Georgeann Hawkins.
There are different types of necrophiles, some collect bones of animals/people, some people keep decapitated heads for the purpose of fellatio.
I think some necrophiles are vampires/werewolves, otherkin occultists, witches not all of them are bad people, but for the people that commit horrendous or atrocious crimes, they need help from a professional.)
I wish people would use the correct terminology or the right usage of the terminology, because it can confuse/annoy people if it isn't used correctly.
I read a lot of true crime books, so I know the difference between a serial killer, mass murderer or spree/thrill seeking killer or one-off murderers.
It doesn't mention in the book if a vampire can enter a building that is abandoned, in ruins or desecrated ground, they wouldn't need a invitation into the building.
I would like to know if a vampire can have a doppelgänger, if any vampire was/is a witch as well, if they can astral travel to consume the blood, psychic or sexual energy of their intended victim.
The connection between vampires and nocturnal animals is briefly explained but not in much detail.
I think that sometimes that the author can be a bit “preachy” about Christianity or that most spiritual beliefs that are alternative to Christianity is considered evil, or wrong just because it's different. Ancient civilizations in Greece, Mesopotamia and other countries believed in evil entities, evil spirits, or demons that were demonic and vampiric in nature, that the native people sacrificed animals, people and blood to them to appease them.
Not everything historically is associated or was created just because Christians existed, so it offended me that the author has a narrow-minded view of the spiritual beliefs, occult related beliefs people had in ancient civilizations leading up to the modern day.
A lot of spiritual beliefs, customs, spiritual practices, different forms of witchcraft are Pre-Christian in origin.
I think it is disrespectful to disregard the spiritual/occult beliefs of people from different cultures historically in ancient civilizations, people in Eastern European countries as a “superstition” People didn't understand decomposition since medicine at the time was not very advanced at the time, people believed in and were afraid of vampires, werewolves, witches, devil-worshippers or Lucifer in different eras of time and in different cultures due to occult related beliefs and spiritual/occult practices (different types of witchcraft, spiritual beliefs-spiritual practices related to their beliefs) Just because people choose to a cynical skeptic it doesn't disprove the numerous eye witness testimonies of vampires, werewolves, witches, cryptids (Cryptozoology-The study of any animal/person of unknown species or origin)
Some of the entries in the book don't have a lot of information which can be a little bit frustrating it is hard to find out anymore detailed information about it for research purposes.
I am a believer in the supernatural/paranormal and the occult so I am tired of people being narrow-minded and treating the “true-believers” as if they are crazy or delusional you can't dispute what a person has seen or experienced, you can't it didn't happen just because you don't believe.
It doesn't disprove that it happened, there are normal explanations for some vampire/werewolf or witch sightings, which would be mental illness & delusions or hallucinations.
The hallucinations could have been caused by a fungus in bread that is causes hallucinations, which is called ergot.
However I still believe that some people did experience seeing a real vampire, werewolf (or shape-shifting witch that dedicated their soul to Lucifer to be able to take on the form of a animal to then be able to take the blood, or psychic & sexual energy of a person while they are unaware, while sleeping, since the person is vulnerable then.)
I would like to know if some sightings of anything supernatural/occult related in origin was a shape-shifter (that can take the form of a animal or anything else to lure and entice their victims to their death) I'm surprised that the author didn't mention “vampire graves” the original custom as a preventative measure to avoid vampirism. A stone was placed in the mouth of the corpse, or the head was decapitated and place between the feet and their heart was pierced with a weapon.
All of this was done historically in various parts of the world in various eras of time and different cultures that had/have various supernatural, paranormal, folklore or occult related beliefs and practices based on those beliefs. Their beliefs and practices were to prevent spiritual or physical harm, vampirism, or psychic, spiritual and physical attack from a vampire, werewolf, witch, demon, familiar of a witch, shapeshifting witch/cryptid or native person that was/is a witch.
I have enjoyed reading about beliefs and spiritual practices throughout the world to prevent vampirism. I would like to read a similar book about werewolves, shapeshifters, witch's and their familiars, demons and possession.
This book is helpful but it isn't thorough enough in terms of the possible side effects or unwanted outcomes in the section about spells, potions (knowing what the ingredients “tools” for the spells, potions are or where to obtain them from, how to use it or if it's safe to consume/ingest would be helpful or necessary to avoid accidentally poisoning yourself or unknowingly giving yourself a allergic reaction)
I would have found it helpful, if images of the different varieties of a herb, Crystal or other ingredients for the spells were included in the book (since not everyone is knowledgeable about all the ingredients) or information about where they are sold.
I have no idea what the author mean whenever she mentions you should “allow for any brewed tea, or concoction/potion for a spell/ritual to “steep” before you use, consume/ingest as part of a spell, ritual, potion.
The author doesn't mention which crystals are safe to add to moon water/rain water, normal water if you want to use it for a spell, ritual (other than raw crystals are not okay to use in water)
I don't understand what the author means when they mention essential oils and they say “use a carrier oil of your choice” Not all essential oil can be used on your skin and could cause a allergic reaction, for a author trying to educate people about witchcraft, and they don't seem very informed themselves and they should do more research before trying to tell others about witchcraft.
A lot of people claim to be a so-called “expert” about witchcraft, but some people just want to sell their book and gain attention. (No offence to the author I just believe that some people want to spread misinformation about witchcraft/the occult is general which can be harmful) The author doesn't mention anything about your intuition, that your emotions, mindset are a form of energy and this effects the outcome of any spell, ritual in either a positive, negative way or in terms of unexpected and unwanted side effects, plus depending on the type of witchcraft it is some things can't be undone, such as blood magick. The author also doesn't mention any further reading list of other books that are more in-depth and would be helpful to read about the same or similar subject. It would have been helpful if there was a index and the spells were listed in categories to easily find a spell or any information I wanted to read to refer to a particular section for specific information.
Not all the information in the book is useless, but some of it is misguided and could be potentially dangerous to impressionable people that may or may not have good intentions when witchcraft is involved. There is no mention whatsoever about your intentions (weather good or bad) when you create a spell, or use a spell, ritual from a book or from online, your intentions, mindset, or emotions matter when you perform a spell, ritual. It is a good idea to keep your energy, emotions, aura balanced, always cleanse yourself, bathe before you perform a spell, always give thanks to any spirits, entities, deities-goddesses, gods etc.. Cleanse the space where you perform spells, rituals before and after practising witchcraft to cleanse negative energy from yourself or others.
Always perform a spell when you have a positive mindset, meditate, listen to music, make sure your not disturbed. This should be obvious, but I understand not everyone is knowledgeable about witchcraft.
Whatever energy you send out into the universe which is good/bad will come back to you in the form of karma, so the results of a spell can be unpredictable, or it can have unwanted side effects, this should be made abundantly clear at the beginning of the book! I would appreciate more variety of spells from different spiritual paths for different purposes other than just generic spells for love, breaking up with your ex etc.. I want to read about spells for further development of psychic abilities, to be able to communicate with spirits, entities, animals, to heal, transcend pain etc..
Helpful information in the book: The lunar phases, astrology, information about how to perform spells, more information should/could have been added to particular sections in the book. It seems like this is a unfinished book, or one of many books. It would be helpful to know what possible side effects could occur if any spells don't work or there are unwanted consequences as a result of Not correctly performing the spell. I do find some things in the book helpful, but it would have be nice if there were a few spells mentioned in the book for specific purposes, since the book seems a bit vague on details when it could have been more thorough. Overall I think this book requires revision or additional information, to be more in depth so that people weather they are adept at witchcraft or a novice know and understand the consequences of witchcraft, so they take it seriously and treat it with respect.
This book is interesting and helpful to to learn about psychic vampirism, (but it is associated with other forms of vampirism (sanguinarian, emotional vampirism, occult related vampirism) or other spiritual, mental/emotional/physical problems could also be the cause for some of the symptoms mentioned in the book.
Some people may have health problems that affect their energy, physical, mental/emotional wellbeing so if they are also psychic/an empath or sensitive emotionally/spiritually it will make them a target for spirits/entities, narcissists/psychopaths/sociopaths/cults or negative power vibrational energy people involved in the occult that want to deceive you so be careful. Heal your emotional wounds, or any damage to your aura/soul, release any self destructive habits in your life or anyone/anything that is a bad influence or harmful to you in any way. It's sad that not everyone is aware of the effect that vampiric can have on you in multiple ways, the long-term damage it can cause, all the problems it can create if people choose not to believe that is it even possible or real, or they ignore the problem until it gets worse.
Some people could have issues related to a past life, due to being psychic or a empath, spiritually sensitive to different vibrational energy of spirits, entities, other types of beings like angels/demons, elementals, survitors (thought thoughts)
Sleep paralysis caused by spirit's, demons and other types of beings such spectral vampires, vampiric spirits, witch's, occultist's, black magicians using astral projection, black magic or the aid of a being to cause harm to others, during sleep, taking their energy. (I don't believe that everyone involved in the occult is evil, or only involved in the occult to harm other people but a small minority of people are and they have sinister and malicious intentions and they don't care about the consequences or karmic cost of what they are doing unfortunately)
Emotional vampirism is never mentioned despite the fact that it has a similar effect to psychic vampirism but instead you're drained of your emotion energy on purpose by a emotional vampire. They project their pessimistic attitude and opinion onto others, to make other people feel sorry for them, so they will feel obliged to care or want to help them, but they only way they can get better is if they change themselves. Things would improve if they improve themselves mentally, physically, spiritually, psychically and to stop absorbing negativity into their aura which is damaging their aura, health, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
The author is a bit repetitive sometimes in the book, so sometimes it seems like they are saying the same thing over and over and it's phrased verbatim. Sometimes it's annoying, while reading the book.
I did find the book, to be informaive, but if occult related vampirism, astral projection or obvious/subtle signs of vampiric was mentioned in depth then that would have been helpful. I think everyone should read this book,
This book is interesting, somewhat informative but still vague on the positive or negative outcome/consequences of completing/not completing any of the “summoning rituals” (which is necromancy) and the long term effect of it. I hate the fact that these rituals are popular due to Youtubers (it's interesting, but there should be a age restriction for some things that are potentially spiritually dangerous such as summoning rituals, that involves summoning a spirit/entity. I think it encourages children to do the rituals, which is stupid and dangerous.
I would have appreciated the rules for each ritual to be written in a bullet pointed list, to make it easy to understand and clearly learn the rules of each summoning ritual.
I think it is dangerous to call these summoning rituals that involves summoning a spirit/entity or multiple of either a “game” because that implies that children can do these summoning rituals and not understand the consequences of doing them, since the consequences of doing the summoning rituals is not mentioned at all, nor is the purpose of spiritual protection mentioned more than once, I would recommend using sage or other protective herbs as part of a smudging (spiritual cleansing ritual) to be done before/after any or all of the summoning rituals, even the low-medium risks ones, but especially the high risk rituals! You should take any form of communication which the dead, spirits or entities seriously, always treat it with respect, don't provoke the dead or anything that your are summoning, because there WILL BE consequences otherwise. I am saying this for your own protection, even if you don't believe in spirits, entities these rituals are dangerous and can be spiritually harmful to you if you are not careful!
I would have found it helpful, if the author included, eye witness testimonies of people that have done the rituals specified in the book, and they said about the positive/negative outcome/consequences of doing the rituals.
It would be helpful to me at least to know what happened when the ritual was successful/or the negative outcome/consequences when the ritual was not done correctly or not finished so whatever you communicated with was unleashed into the world and it seemed like the author was intentionally vague on details in some ways, so I would appreciated more information, because sometimes it was lacking, so it made me wonder what would happen, if you looked at the entity you summoned, did't follow all the rules, don't believe the ritual would work (I don't recommend anyone doing the rituals alone or with anyone that is a non-believer in rituals, spirits or entities since they would be at risk and could antagonise whatever you are summoning)
The low risk rituals are not that threatening, but they still have risks or consequences involved.
The medium-high risk rituals are a lot more dangerous spiritually, due to a possible spirit/entity attachment if the ritual(s) is not completed/the rules are not followed and respected fully or correctly! I think it is dangerous to say about the rituals, but for the author to not say about spiritual protection before/after doing the rituals. I would recommend using a sage smudging stick, saying a prayer to whatever god/goddess/deity that you believe in before/after doing the rituals, spiritual cleansing is important to avoid, long term affects of the rituals. It is better to do the rituals in a group, to lessen or avoid any bad luck after doing the rituals, done do them alone.
In my opinion the most potentially dangerous rituals are the following:
Daruma San (The Bath Ritual) This ritual involves summoning a onryo or vengeful Yurei (a Japanese spirit with evil intentions)
Bloody Mary: This has many consequences, just because you may/may not not see anything, it doesn't mean that you didn't summon something. The Candyman ritual was not mentioned so I was a bit disappointed about it.
The Midnight game (A.K.A. The Midnight Man): This involves summoning a entity, it is dangerous and there are unknown consequences if they get close enough to touch you, never let that happen
Light as a feather, Stiff as a board: This ritual is dangerous, it seems like it would change someone's personality during/aftercompleting the ritual
Hide and seek alone (Hitori Kakurenbo): This is a form of necromancy, which involves summoning a spirit to possess a doll and animate it, it's dangerous if not done correctly.
The doors of your mind: This ritual is dangerous, there is no reversal ritual to undo it, once it is done.
Closet to another world: A ritual that involves summoning a entity into a closet, it doesn't seem like there is a way to get rid of it once it is summoned.
The Corner Ritual: This ritual involves summoning a spirit/entity and can be dangerous, due to unknown whereabouts of at least one person
Sister, Sister (Sara Sarita) This ritual involves summoning two entities (Entities are NOT human spirits, entities are NOT human at all they are demons, so be careful!)
The Hosting Ritual: This ritual involves summoning spirits into your home
The Fortune Ritual: This involves summoning a entity which you cannot look at, while at a crossroads, there is no way to tell if it is lying to you.
A lot of the rituals involve summoning a spirits/entities that you may or may not see, you have no idea if it is telling you the truth, don't automatically trust what it tells you, because spirits and entities lie to entice you. I take communication with spirits/entities or rituals seriously, and so should everyone else that has read the book/my review.
I did enjoy reading the book, but it was lacking in terms of the real risks/consequences of the rituals, the potential spiritual danger, and stupidity of calling the summoning rituals a “game”
I would recommend to anyone that reads this books, to do a lot of research about spiritual protection, the rules, consequences of the rituals before attempting any of them!
There are still some rituals that are dangerous that were not mentioned in the book so a follow up book, that is more detailed would be great. Other dangerous rituals that were not mentioned are: the three kings, the dark reflection ritual, dry bones among others. I look forward to reading more books like this in the future.
This book was vague about the real life details of the Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory AKA “the blood countess” or “Bloody Countess” so I found it disappointing to read.
Some people believe she was a vampire, a possible witch but she was definitely a real person, that was sadistic and evil due to learning about torture methods and witchcraft by one of her servants Darvulia.
This book is more of a reference book rather than a informative account of the life of Elizabeth Bathory, so I will read other books that are more detailed to find out more about her.
I don't understand why more accurate accounts of her life were not translated into English, since I would be interested in reading about it.
This book is just a overview of the life and what possibly lead Elizabeth Bathory to torture, mutilate and murder/bathe in the blood/possibly drink the blood of servants that were peasants or nobility for her own sick and sadistic pleasure. I would recommend this book to anyone that has never heard of Elizabeth Bathory, and they don't know anything about her or Vlad Tepes (Prince of Wallachia, Transylvania in Romania)
I didn't receive the version of the book that I wanted (Elizabeth Bathory in a red dress, the pages were printed in a waythat it isn't aligned properly so that is another reason I was disappointed with this book) :/
