I thought the first book had twists that made me gasp through the book, oh man, I didn't see half of these coming and I was here for every single one of them! I can't wait to read on... It's going to hard to top this one (for me)..

This book was more evenly paced, which I was pleased about but it felt like a slower pace than a "medium" pace. There were a lot of side stories and trials and tribulations which I can tell affects the storyline but I'm not sure how much of it was needed truthfully - and honestly it took me off the main focus sometimes but I am hoping everything ties up nicely in the end book.

Definitely less "action-packed" than the last book, and while the book focused more on the character growth of Simon and touched a little on Clary and Jace and their relationship and struggles, I feel like it fell short in many ways of such a big build and it was the last page of when something ended up happening.. Definitely will continue the series because I'm invested now, but hope there's a little more happening in the last two books than this one.
