This was a really fucked up story. The assualt at the beginning of the story haunted me for years before I could even continue the book. It hangs as a dark cloud over the whole story and you are constantly reminded of it. Now the version of the beauty and the beast tale that this book retells is one of my childhood favorites, still is. A warning of this books content should have been put at the beginning. I think if this was just a retelling(of the classic version of the tale) it would have been fine. Also what was with the heavy god stuff towards the end and like a reference that the beast was some sort of nature god like pan??? Like what.
Umm okay .....
So this is my second story with a stalker element in it and I kinda like it. Don't get me wrong its messed up but its hot. Now I don't totally agree with the whole locking her in the basement thing and like the Stockholm syndrome thing there but its a romance so its supposed to be weird and kinda hot lol Might need to look more into stalker romance.
This book was really interesting. I was annotating the first 100 pages but me and annotating don't get along, it's probably why I avoided reading this book to be honest. However once I stopped I flew threw the book. Omg that twist caught me off guard. I don't think I've ever read something like that before.
I absolutely ate up this book. Its been a while since I read a book so fast. The idea of dumb “kids” (It's 20 somethings but still in the realm of movies/movie-making they'd be classed as kids) making a movie and something going horribly wrong sucked me in so hard. The aspects of horror fandom and the use of social media fascinated me. Honestly parts of the movie script almost felt like torture porn style of horror, I believe the book said its like we're all the monster which is definitely a troupe that's so good to explore in the movie verse. Its safe to say that I loved this book. I have been loving the horror/ thriller genre of late and I can't get enough.
I've been a big lover of true crime for as long as I can remember. I've always tried to understand the psychology behind the crime. I may never fully understand the minds of murders and the like but this book shows how the American justice system developed the tools to profile such criminals. I found this book really fascinating and the last chapter seems like the perfect reminder for us all.
Amazing!
Hunter and Zoey are so flipping cute. I really liked this book. This had less drama between our couple and was a bit more fluffier. Not a lot of spice, this one leans heavily on implied spice. It was nice to find out why Zoey was so guarded in the Archer book. Save to say I am gonna binge this series.
