I F*CKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!
didn't have high hopes getting in, I tried reading it before but ended up DNF'ing. But then I listened to it on audio. It was so good! This book made me almost cry on a full bus. The romance was so cute, but it had so many good and bad moments. The emotions were so real.
Really, I could talk about this book all day but I'm not going to. Just read it. This is the only book I've given 5 full stars this year. That says something.
I revived this book from NetGalley in return for my honest opinion
Actual rating: 3,5 stars
I liked the book, but I feel like I missed a lot of good things because I didn't understand the culture fully. I did like Sam and Layla, they were Rey cute, but I need to say that I expected some more depth into their romance dialogue. I liked the idea of a marriage game. It was fun to see Layla go on a ‘date' with all the suitors. (Except a few). I need to say that the book had a lot of quirky and funny Layla one-liners.
I revived this E-ARC trough Netgalley in return for my honest opinion
I rarely give books 5 stars these days, but I love this book so much!
Ren was great, I loved her. Derek and Marcus were angels, Adley and Lesa were endgame and im here for it and Kellen deserves the world. Oh and Holland was fantastic.
The story was well written. The plot was interesting and written like it was happening somewhere in the world. I loved the different plots towards the ending of the book all showing the same event trough different eyes. That made it a lot more interesting.
Please do me a favor and read the book when it's released in 2021. Really sad that it had been prosponed, but I will definitely be getting a physical copy!
That's all I wanted to say!
Honestly, I'm only giving this book 4 stars because I put it doen for like 3 weeks because I wasn't engaged into the story anymore.
It was such a good book, honestly one of the best books I've read in a while. Loved the characters, the plot was cool but I wasn't overly excited because of it. The first sentence gave a fun start but it really didn't sum up the entire book. Still really loved it
It took me ages to get into this book. I'd picked it up before but never got past the first 3 chapters. So much new information, names and things to learn, I just couldn't. But, I'm glad that I picked the book up after watching the TV-Show for the second time. It was so good! Loved the setting, Diana and Matthew were great, so much going on. It was truly a great read.
I used to love books set in WWII because I love historical reads. Not really the biggest fan of the books anymore.
The book was good, the characters where very interesting and I love the fact that there was a homosexual character. Obviously, the book is very important, so I liked to read a book that was set in the Netherlands. I've traveled past the Hollandsche Schouwburg so many times without realising what happened there in WWII.
But besides that, the book was pretty boring. I didn't love it as much as I thought I would.
But, if you want to read a book that sets in WWII in Amsterdam, then this book is your thing!
Listened to this book.
Honestly, I loved this book. Cat isn't one of my favorite characters, but she's cool. Cole... I don't know how i feel about Cole. I absolutly loved Lee, and Anna a bit too.
But the plot, the storyline, the worldbuilding. I just loved all that. So complex, but still so well written that it just clicks.
The book is absolutly worth reading it!
