Reinterpretations of classics are always interesting to me. As a Dracula fan I loved the focus on Lucy and how it gives her humanity and nuance. I also liked the incorporation of a cult into the mix.

I did enjoy the city vibes and the way it was written but I found the characters quite dull, protagonist included. This book is more about emotions, vibes and feelings than plot.
Truth be told, he did tell us he was at the end of his tether.

I thought this was going to be a family drama, and it was, but it was more of a historical account of Chile 🇨🇱 told through the generations of this family.
Resonated with a lot of elements here because Latin America shares similar backgrounds.
Didn't like the mild redemption arc of Esteban Trueba at the end. He was a POS and should've died alone as Ferula said.
I did like Alba's understanding at the end that vengeance of what happened to her would only bring more pain eventually. Revenge is like a chain that needs to be cut off.
