God knows why I like these books so much, but I do. Must be the clever mix of mystery and romance in each of them and a smart roller coaster of emotional ups and downs.

Less funny than the first one, but still a nice read. A 3,5 really.

Disappointing after the House in the cerulean sea. At 60% I am loosing all interest. It doesn't get lift off.

For a cozy, this has everything: a humorous tone, an entertaining and sympathetic protagonist, warm connections, a weird murder case - and I have laughed out loud several times. A very endearing book.

Well written but too bleak for my liking. Although the cliffhanger was such that I may have to read the next book nonetheless.

A scifi thriller based on Schrödinger's cat: a great read, fascinating & believable, great plotting.

This book started out very witty - men being robbed telling the robbers how bad a job they are making of it - but soon it turns into an action oriented adventure story, as per usual. Not bad, but not great either.

But they are a nice cast of characters, and the plot shifts a few times. So, enjoyable enough.

A friendly and entertaining story, not very intricate.

Leuk, maar te veel van hetzelfde. Halverwege wist ik het wel.

Good old Jack Vance! Rereading my teenage crushes. This is a fast paced SF fairy tale, with a heroe and a princess and a few hellers and tons of villains. As should be.

Very good, as usual.

3,5 really. Well written, yet the plot was a touch awkward, fitting too neatly and politically nit very believable.

Quit reading at 20%. Very well written, but it did not grip me. Feels like a very masculine book - all deeds.

Same as the other one I read - great style, great characterisation, somewhat boring plot.

A light read. An interesting take on autism. Well written, more of a novella. Lacking dept, shallow plot.

Not a great plot, but really well written.

I got fed up.

Well written but weirdly amoral.

Excellent book. Finally. Dan Nelken studied award winning ads and substracted sensible guidelines for writing headlines. Illustrated by said campaigns. Very amusing & elucidating. Writing tips in few words.

I listened to the audiobook on Storytel, read by David McCallion. His performance is respinsible for a probably higher rating the when I would have read it on paper. Also, I tried two other books in the series perfirmed by others, but McCallion has ruined it for me - only his performance fits Munro.

Love the wit and character of the protagonist, DI Munro.

After the excellent 3rd book in the series, this one is a lot more uncomplicated. Or less interesting.

The family loyalty thingy gets a little annoying, too. Lots of repetition throughout this series.

Yet, a pleasant enough read.

Best book of this series so far.

A good read, good plot, nice characters, just a little one dimensional. The writing somewhat formulaic.
