Great style. Great beginning, good ending, but it loses momentum in the middle.

Again, 4 stars for the witty style and for the book in its genre. As a whole, I would rate the genre only 3 stars. I mostly enjoy the start of her books, where she pays more attention to her protagonists and to sketching the scenery. I am less interested in the intricate puzzling she presents. I like to read about people, not puzzles.

4 stars - but only in its kind. I get rather bored bij this kind of detectives, where in the last chapter everythings gets reversed. Love the often witty descriptions of people in Christie - the beginnings are usually more interesting, therefore, than the endings. Pity.

A bit of everything, maybe, but the male gaze is pretty dominant. I have read better and funnier.

Great cozy, nice cast, good plot.

Thematisch geordende, komische biografie. Nuchter, vaak ontroerend, eigenwijs. Prachtig Nederlands.

Less good than the first, but still fun.

Too little action.

Light, witty, and since I listened to the audiobook, very well read/acted by Sam Dastor.

Great in its light & easy genre.

A failure of a book. Morally hard to stomach and psychologically nonsensical too. The making of a murderess would be a more apt title.

Simple yet pleasant.

This never touched my emotions so after 30% I put it aside.

Abandoned. Well written, but it utterly lacks humor, irony, any self deprication. Therefore boring.

I liked all of it, except for the way the puzzle fits together in the end. But I read these books for the sweet cast of characters. In a way rhis is an ongoing pleasant journey in the well read, witty, outspoken, cynical yet mild brain of a quirky author. For which I thank him.

Fun series. Nice cast of characters.. This book has a good plot, too (not all of them do).

Cozy mystery set in 11th century Britain, when the Domesday book was compiled. Charming. Well told. Nice cast of characters.

Interesting, well written, but bleak.

Phew. I used to like Camilleri, but this book is awful and boring. He has the hots for a passing crminologist - hard to stomach, his behavior. The case hardly develops. Abandoned halfway.

Why on earth did he construct it this way? A story in a story etc. It does not make it better, just more confusing and drawn out. Will not finis this book. Funny how a writer can write such different stories, some awesome, some just so-so.

A sweet book. Great writing style. The plot was a little too intricate, or I should have read it in one go, whichever way it was, I gave up keeping track exactly of who did what and why towards the end.

Dreary. It kept going nowhere, and it kept replicating a lot of things from Kain and Able (part one). I gave up in chapter 10.

Geestig. Goede tekeningen. Hard gelachen.

Funny. I enjoyed this light romance a lot, the witty selftalk etc. Yet at 4/5 I felt the book was over. It dragged on and on while you knew it was all going to be just fine anyway.

Brilliant in her catgory. Modern families and relationships. Almost always entertaining. This one started slowly, but got interesting soon. The lover was an somewhat boring character though.
