Dreary characters indeed. DNF.

Love this series. Cozies.

Getting a bit annoyed with Slash - the male protagonist - ‘s patriarchical behavior. The relationships are all rather cliche, come to think of it. These books are all about action, the relationships an afterthought.

Beautifully written book about a bad marriage. Controlling husband, alcoholic mother, suffering children. Finished it for the great writing, not the content. Weird plot. Unbelievable, actually, that the mom would abandon her kids that way. And what about that guinea pig? Was the mom going crazy?

Fast paced. Funny.

Fun. Fast. Nice characters.

Started out fun, lost tempo. Sloppy structure, sloppy plot, lots of repeats explaining things that were more than clear already. Pity. Charlaine Harris is way better.

DNF. Unpleasant atmosphere, in contrast to the earlier books.

Terrifically well written. A plausible thought experiment. Dystopic. Original. A rather convincing plot, although not terribly well balanced.

Funny tempi. Whelan and especially Bryce get stuck in bad places for a loooong time - the story seems to be stalling a little there. Other events fly by, transitions happen in an instant - like the killing of Bryce and the murders by Whelan.

Yes, the heroe gets killed. Rather unceremoniously, too, Shocking, but not in real hardass politics. So it seems fitting as well.

All in all a surprising read. Unusual, a little rough around the edges, but surprising.

DNF - I'd had enough at about 90 % of the book. It is a guilty pleasure, this crazy slow and very light romance, it's like nice background chatter. It is also repetitive - those strong arms! - and everyone seems to eat only pizza at every meal, and every initiative is followed by the main characters: ‘Are you sure?'

But it sort of went on and on after it should have finished. And then she is going to spend all her money on shooting her moms ashes into space? Was that the plan?

At that point I switched the audiobook off. Too bizar.

DNF. Too far fetched.

Five stars for its kind. Young adult, what's right and wrong, enemies, great losses, young love. Very fast paced. Lots of action.

Degelijke policier. Voorgelezen door de auteur.

DNF. Horrible characters.

Great plotting.

A fun light read. Humorous, fast paced, mix of a crime novel and love story.

Liked her first book better. This one was less well thought our, the plot less neat.

3,5 stars really. The first book was much better. More surprising, explaining ASS better.

DNF. Boring dialogue between King and Maxwell, full off fillers and unconvincing conflict. Unreafable.

DNF. Longwinded. Too much explanation, too little action. Also: too many points of view, rather confusing.

Quirky. Unusual. Weird. But fun. Almost only monogue, hardly a plot, far fetched, and urban fantasy really, not a cozy - with a lot of humor. I listened to an audiobook narrated by the Geordie author. Grrreat accent! That probably enhanced the experience. It was like listening to someones quirky stream of consciousness.

I liked this book for its unusualness, its not adhering to any of the rules. The story has no proper buildup, the lover is not hard to get at all, a new profession falls into her lap, and a crime happens all of a sudden and then gets rolled up way too fast. Never mind. Such is urban fantasy life.

DNF. Weird story. Convoluted and not very convincing.

4,5 really. It's not a Big book. But really ok in its policier-kind. The ASS of yhe main character is a little exaggerated. In novels and movies, every person with Apergers is a savant. But to have ass explained rather well, otherwise, is a bonus.
