A spellbinding read. I liked the magical realism and the time travel aspect was interesting and helped with the mysterious aspects of the story. I liked the big reveal of who Birdie is to her especially.

I liked Libby as a character. She is flawed and has mental health issues. Then her mom moves them to this weird creepy house with soon to be discovered bug themed stained glass window. The mom does it to give the family mostly Libby a fresh start. This book had a lot of character development in my opinion and it was a good creepy little read. I'm impressed by the writing so I may try Ann Fraistat's other novel. I'd recommend this to my friends.

This story has ghosts, but they're not creepy or scary. It's a sweet story about a woman who stands out in a small community and her life in it. Dottie is all alone now. Her husband is non-responsive and in a vegetative state, and she goes along with her life until along comes a neighbor girl Magdalena. It's a story how you can feel love for someone even if they're not your family. I will be checking out Candi Sary's other works because this was such a wonderful story.

I wish I had reread My Heart is a Chainsaw before this book I didn't recognize some of the characters who were in Chainsaw However I still enjoyed the HELL out of this book! It was a real puzzle to figure out who the murderer was in each instance Although you shall never fear Jade Daniels is there to save your butt like the final girl she is

Definitely thought-provoking. Didn't know who to trust in this book. Told from two different POV if that sort of thing bugs you. I will be checking out this author's other works.

My favorite stories.
The Last Conversation- A quick little mystery where you are trying to figure out what is going on with the main character. Nice little apocalyptic sci fi bent.

Large Man- an interesting little science fiction story. I really enjoyed the Mr. C___ character.

I was going along, getting interested in the story then BAM triggered. Please read the content warnings before you read this book .

Oh but did this book give me the heebie jeebies. I was nervous the whole time. I was literally talking to the main character about her choices at one point towards the end. Anyway creepy possession story. Again Jennifer McMahon blew it out of the water. Highly recommend to everyone.

While I read this book quickly. The jump right into action made me want to read more to know what the heck is going on. There was I felt the drama between characters was too much like stereotypical high school drama from “adults”. This took me out of the story. Okay, story but glad I borrowed it from the library and it wasn't a purchase.

3.5 stars rounded up for the ending. I admit I think this book started out a little slow. In my opinion, it wasn't in a slow burn kind of way, just a slow start. I'd say about halfway through it got more speed and ended great and excitingly.

Margo and Patricia two women who are both unlikeable characters but you can't look away either. So you read on to see who will be victorious because you know that the cat usually eats the mouse, and who is which?

These are my favorite stories

As Red as Blood, as White as Snow by Christina Henry- a darker retelling of Snow White. What if Prince Charming wasn't as charming as advertised? What about that poisoned apple? Great take on an old classic.

Listen by Jen Williams. A new delicious tale with a musical curse that just goes on forever, Great main character.

Faith & Fred by Maura McHugh What a creepy multi-generational curse story, I felt bad for eveyone in this story.

Wendy, Darling by Christopher Golden HOLY CRAP this was a great dark story. My favorite!

Again by Tim Lebbon I've read and enjoyed some of this authoor's other works but this is a story I didn't expect from him. Actually for a curse story it's actually rather beautiful and sweet with a slight twist when you realize what's going on

The story is suitably horrific. It's full of lots of creepy moments, and fair warning it is splatterpunk.

I won this in a Good Reads giveaway. Which made me excited. Then I read it and thought it was a great “ghost” story. Both main characters are haunted by their past. This is about learning how to deal with things in your past.

Oh boy this was good. I loved every bit of it. The twist was not surprising but still delicious.

The first 2/3 of this book are interesting well written and mysterious. The last part goes off the rails. I mean seriously the last part made the book go from a 3.8 probably rounded up to 4 to a 2. That is because of the transphobic thing. I'm not going to deny it.

This is the first book of the Wayward Children series I'm giving less than 5 stars to. I enjoyed it but I felt that visiting Jack and Jill again was unnecessary. Beautiful writing but...

This book just wasn't for me. It kept triggering me to the point of almost did not finish. The writing style wasn't bad but the triggers for me bothered me too much to enjoy.

This is my first book by Sulari Gentill and I think she is a good author. I liked the book within a book concept. It wasn't overdone at all IMO. Although Leo bugged me I think he was supposed to. I did like the main mystery and how it was more of a character-based story rather than a quick mystery that is solved and you don't get to know the character that well.

Dark, gothic and a little heartbreaking. This is about a cult run by “Uncle” and the things you do for your ‘family (even if they are or are not related to you they are still your family). Recommend for people who like gothic fiction.

This was such a touching book about families and especially daughters. Mostly it was about familial love which can sometimes be acrimonious but is still love.

The titular story of this is GREAT! Really captures an unhealthy relationship in the early 2000's However the other two stories were just okay. Would read it again just for the creep factor of the first story.

I was in like Flynn. I liked the Scream and Happy Death Day references. For a YA book it was the right level of horror IMO. However, the ending and with the explanation as to why the killings are taking place totally turned me off. It turned me from liking this book to REALLY not liking it. I won't spoil who the killer is for those that read reviews before reading a book, but just know you were warned.

I've been on a retelling kick lately and this was one of my favorite retellings that I've read so far. Elizabeth is ab orphan that is taken in by the Frankenstein's and she figures the only way to stay “useful” to them is to put all her devotion to Victor Frankenstein. Yes she is manipulative but she has good reasons. I loved Elizabeth and feel in spite of her manipulative behavior she had a good heart.

The first 2/3 of the book were really good and if you've read Frankenstein you'll get a little more out of it, but the last part is crazy good.

Eerie dark and bleak but really good. The build-up to the last 1/3 was good but that last part just kicks you in the stomach. Great job! I recommend this book wholeheartedly/
