Thank you Netgalley for this ARC! I have really enjoyed the Knockemout series but book 2 fell a little flat for me. I almost didn't read book 3 but I've had a thing for Lucian Rollins since book 1 so I'm so glad I read this one! For anyone disappointed in book 2, read this one! You won't regret it. Lucian and Sloane Watson have been best friends since childhood. They were next door neighbors so they knew each other's secrets and kept them from everyone else. That is until Lucian's secret threatens to harm his future, and Sloane has no choice but to intervene. In doing so, she breaks a promise to him that he never forgives her for. Fast forward to the future and Sloane and Lucian are frenemies. They tolerate each other for the sake of their mutual friends but bicker and fight nonstop over mundane issues. When their bickering turns to foreplay, they decide that a one night stand is the only way to put out the flame they have for one another once and for all. In order for these two to have a future, they must reconcile with the past. So steamy, so sweet, everything I hoped for to end this series!

This book is heartbreaking... the things this poor girl went through, all in the public spotlight. I just hope she finds herself and can be successful in life.

One of the cutest children's books I've seen in a while.

Five creepy stories to read in October. Definitely worth the short read. Illustrations were fantastic.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! This audio book kept my interest and I was invested in the characters. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but it does have some heavy content; foster care situations, LGBTQ relationships, and parents with opioid addiction. A story about two siblings who end up separated after their parents disappeared. The story follows the sister mostly, as she navigates life with new parents and struggles with her own demons. Then one day out of the blue, a doctor calls and says she's with the brother she thought died years before. What happens will warm your heart and make you feel for these two siblings.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this novel! I would classify this as a slow, family drama with a feel good story. It's about Camille and her daughter who move back home to Alabama after the sudden death of her husband. While they try to pick up the pieces of their lives, they have the support of Camille's parents and a newfound friend in Mack. Soon, Camille starts to see Mack as more than a friend. Is her heart ready to love again? Just when she starts to think so, she discovers a law suit has been filed against her father and Mack is involved. Will they be able to work together to fix the one thing keeping them apart? Overall, I enjoyed this story. Not my typical read but enjoyable nonetheless.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this audio. I'll admit I was originally drawn to cover. The story itself started out fantastically and then... lots of sex ensued. So much that it lasted for chapter after chapter. It just was not for me at all. I could get usually get behind the friends to lovers plot but this one just fell flat for me. I skipped through most of the end just to find out what happened with the brother learned the truth. This needed more character building and more communication between all three of the main characters. It was just lacking for me.

This one kept me intrigued and guessing until the end. While I didn't love the ending (sad face), I get it... I guess. I can't even explain why I liked this one - perhaps because it was different. The main character was very likeable.

I could not get into this one...

Libraries mean so much to so many. As a librarian, I was drawn to this book solely because of the title. I'm so glad I read it. It follows a librarian named Sayuri Komachi who somehow senses what exactly the visitors of the library need. She directs them to books that forever change their lives and I just could not get enough of this feel good story. I did enjoy some parts more than others, but overall found it quite enjoyable.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of book 4 in one of my favorite series. I've read them all but I have to say this book was by far my favorite. I was drawn to all four main characters and their families. This series is about a magic coffee shop that allows visitors to travel back in time. People with regrets are drawn to the shop to try to change the past to in turn, alter the future. When they discover changing the present is not an option, they must decide whether the risk of going back in time is worth it to see a loved one one last time. Each person in book four who visits the past touched my heart so much. Such a tender hearted story that will leave you thinking, who would you visit if you could go back and what would you say to them? I only wish they were longer ❤️

Adorable and uplifting

This book was adorable and uplifting. The illustrations were beautiful. It show's children how effective kindness can be. Everyone in the story sees a kind deed and then pays it forward. A gentle reminder that even though sometimes this world is sad and bleak, there's always good, you just have to pay attention ⭐️

I surprisingly enjoyed this title. Not my style of book at all but so well written it was impossible not to love. It started out slow but picked up pace a bit in the middle. At first, I was only drawn to the present storyline and how the family coped with COVID. But I eventually became drawn to the story of Duke and Lara from the past. That and the combination of Maryl Streep's voice made this one a must read.

I almost passed this one up. I'm so glad I didn't. A story about two people so in love but the timing is never right. Why? Because Clementine lives in an apartment that's magical. It allows people who live there to visit with other apartment tenants in 7 year gaps. When Clementine's grandmother dies, she moves in. What follows is a love story that spans 7 years, but partly in the past and partly in the present. I fell in love with these characters. I laughed and cried. And then I listened to the authors note which tells what she went through while writing this book and I cried even more. Part rom-com, part magic, and absolutely fantastic, it's a love story you don't want to miss ❤️

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this audio. I really enjoyed this novel as a forty-something myself. Parts of it really hit home. Nell is struggling in life. She's no longer engaged to be married and her business has flopped. She moves to London in hopes of a fresh start but everywhere she turns is another reminder of everything she's missing in life: her friends are married with children, everyone is happy, and it just seems to Nell that she's missed her chance of happy ever after. Then she meets and eighty something widow. Together, they help each other figure out what's missing from their lives and Nell discovers that you don't have to me married, successful and with child to be happy. Parts of this novel were sweet and sentimental, while other parts were laugh out loud funny. Overall, I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone over forty.

I really enjoyed the first few hours of this novel and then I quickly lost interest. Just didn't keep my attention. Was looking for a good fall novel about witches. Sadly, this wasn't it for me.

This was a short but enjoyable read. As a librarian, it was a must read for me and I highly recommend it to my fellow librarians. The patrons were relatable, as were many of the coworkers. All but Margo of course, at least I hope not

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. I've been seeing McFadden books pop up everywhere so I wanted to know what all the hype was about. I'll admit I was quite impressed. The coworker was an entertaining read. A story about coworkers in an office filled with secrets. Dawn Schiff is strange. She's very quiet and most of her coworkers agree that she's an odd duck, mostly because all she talks about is turtles, which she collects. “She is so weird, what grown woman collects turtles.” At this point I had to laugh because guess what? I'm 42 and also collect turtles. I guess that makes me strange.

At any rate, Dawn is never late so when she doesn't show up for work one day, the one coworker she has befriended, Natalie, grows worried. Natalie is the opposite of Dawn in every way; beautiful, popular, well liked by her colleagues; but she feels sorry for Dawn.

When Natalie finds a turtle on her desk and answers Dawn's phone only to hear someone on the other end asking for help, she begins to suspect something terrible has happened to her coworker.

What follows is a series of events and twists that keep the reader wondering who is really at fault in this story...

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I'm embarrassed to admit that I forgot about it and then I almost gave up on it. It starts out slower and isn't my typical read but boy am I glad I pressed on. I became completely engrossed with this story of two families of witches and the wars that tore them apart for years. This novel was so well written and has everything I could ever want in a story (magic, witches, love, what-ifs, revenge, mystery, etc). I could go on and on but instead I'll just say read it! You won't regret it ❤️

This was my first book by Kate Morton but it most definitely will not be my last. A phenomenal storyteller. I couldn't stop reading. ⭐️

This book was helpful in many ways. As women (at least in my experience), we tend to judge ourselves based on the opinions of others. I also tend to compare myself to others even though I know I shouldn't. I've also had family members say very mean/hurtful things about my fluctuating weight over the years. But, no one is harder on me than myself and that's something I'm trying very hard to work on. My goal after reading this book is to like myself for who I am in this moment, to not beat myself up if I eat more sweets than I should, and to appreciate my body the way it is, regardless of what others think or say.

This might be my favorite Burkholder book yet. Although I do wish we could have seen more of that happy ending.

I really don't know how to feel about this one. It started strong and then I just found Anna super annoying. It was apparent she wasn't being entirely truthful throughout and then... the ending. I'm still not

This one hooked me in from the first chapter and finished strong. Loved it. A great suspense novel that leaves you guessing the entire time. Can't wait to read more by this author.

This might be one of the strangest books I've ever read. I absolutely loved it until the very end. Now I'm not sure how I feel about it. As cliche as it is, I think I would have rather it been the husband
