Goodreads really needs a .5 option. I'd give this a 3.5. Cute book, but a little lacking

I'm amazed there are so many books in this series. The main characters are so unlikeable and blah. It's like every other detective/cop novel out there.

I loved this book so much. I see a lot of reviews talking about how rude the main character could be, but I enjoyed the rawness and honesty of her inner dialogue. This was a great listen, I'm hoping Catherine has plans to write more!

THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD! I'm actually slightly upset it's over since this is Kelsey's only book. It was so well written with great twists and turns that kept me guessing. The imagery she used was not at all what I was expecting from a debut novel. MORE!!!

This writing style is far from my favorite. Every single line of dialogue is the same (Eric says, Andrew says, she says). It was hard to get through and then left us on a cliff hanger.

Fucking hell, I can't do it anymore. This book is terrible, absolutely terrible and I cannot finish. The author is all over the place with where they want to go and the story doesn't FOCUS. If it was only about Angelea I'd be more interested, but Terry has to jump to other side stories and I'm bored.

He repeats himself CONSTANTLY. We do not have the memory span of a guppy, I promise you don't have to say the same thing 400 times. This book reads like a high school student trying to bulk up an essay with more words to meet the minimum.

God, this book is disturbing on a whole new level. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's well written and definitely draws you in, but before diving in I would recommend reading some trigger warnings.

**2023 update: upping this to 5 stars because I STILL think about it.

Haunting, infuriating, and hard to put down.

But PLEASE BE AWARE: SEXUAL ASSAULT TRIGGER WARNING

The ending saved this book. Once you find out what's going on the rest of the story makes sense and is actually pretty good, but I have to admit it was a struggle to get there. I almost stopped reading it a dozen times because I was frustrated with the characters from the very start, especially the “romance”.
If the bulk of the book was more like the ending this would've been a 4 star, but as is I struggle giving it a 2.

Raw and honest but a big predictable. I wanted this story to be a bit more fleshed out, but other than that it's solid for young adult.

God, I have no idea how this book has more than a 1 star rating. It's terribly cliche, the characters are annoying as hell, the storyline is dry as hell. Lewis is a terrible lover interest, Summer is a dab lead character, Clover is a horrible villain. Don't read this garbage. Just don't.

How do I say this nicely? This would be great for a 12 year old except I wouldn't really want my 12 year old cousin to read the sex. The writing is so cringy. She really beats HOPELESS into your brain.

I loved this book from the very first chapter. It was definitely a different format from most thrillers, which I thoroughly appreciate! It was haunting and disturbing and totally kept me on the edge of my seat.
But then...(spoilers)

THERE WAS NO TWIST, or rather it came too late. The bad person is exactly who they portrayed the whole book and the ending left you feeling no different than you would have without the letter. The letter itself was such a bore to read and frankly didn't change anybody's mind. Good book but bad ending.

I downloaded this book on a whim to listen to on a plane without looking at the description. I was looking for a thriller...I did NOT expect erotica. I DEFINITELY didn't expect gay erotica lmao. Not really my thing, but after a few sex scenes I skipped through them and enjoyed the suspense part of the book. Not bad, kind of generic for a detective/cop novel. But yeah. It's gay erotica, so be aware of that.

I've never been so disappointed in a book. I LOVED The Butterfly Garden because it was unique, thrilling, and absolutely fucked up. But Roses of May is just like every other detective novel that I was trying to avoid. SNOOOOZE. The characters aren't likeable or relatable, the plot is predictable, the climax is boring, and the string connected the The Butterfly Garden is as thin as can be.

The first book is still one of my favorite books of the 2010s, but Roses of May was simply awful. I started The Summer Children with hopes it will be better, but so far looking like more of the same lame cliches and boring plot lines. Dot should really have quit while ahead.

Couldn't even finish it.

I can literally NOT finish this book. I have never been so turned off by a book before in my life, and I even suffered through Fifty Shades. Lord, I loved Odd Thomas but this is just way too much. I need brain bleach.

I can't handle Nora Roberts anymore. Every single book is exactly the same. Strong woman moves to a new(country) place, meets an asshole guy (portrayed as “sexy” and “strong willed”) and is essentially bullied into a romance. These books just terrible.

I loved this series. Yes, it is a little bit predictable, but sometimes it's nice to dive into a book that you can just relax and enjoy. This was a great wrap up to a great series.

This is a must read for comedy! Such a witty little book. I can't wait to read the next in the trilogy.

Can I give this book a negative rating? This whole series was so terrible and I can't believe I actually finished it.

I'm really hate reading by this point. God, this book is terrible. If anybody here thinks that the relationship portrayed by Daniel and Luce is real love PLEASE REEVALUATE YOUR LIFE!

Nora Roberts certainly has a style. I knew who the killer was before it was even introduced that there WAS another killer. This book is 100% predictable especially if you've read even one of her other books. SNOOZE. Last Roberts book I'm reading for sure.

I felt that the whole backwards telling ploy thing really distracted from the story. It took me a few minutes each time to get back into the plot and I kept back tracking.

I was disappointed with the ending, but this was a good book and I was very spooked by the whole thing.

Unexpected twists and turns the whole way. I enjoyed this one.
