A solid entry book. Truthfully I started this book with the audiobook and could not get into it at all; I find that it did not do the series justice. I had to wait to get my hands on the physical version instead. Malice wasn't incredible but it was a good read, Gwynne writes action scenes incredibly enrapturing your attention at ease.
I look forward to reading Valour and seeing where the series heads.
Honestly? I'm disappointed. I predicted so many of the ‘twists' that it felt disappointing and a slog by the end of it. I thought this trilogy would be a spectacular read that would jump to my favourites list yet it falls so far behind it; astonishingly the first book was better than the subsequent ones, hopefully, the next two are better. So many things were pointless or could have been done better.
unexpectedly this book jumped into my top 3 cosmere books and not going to lie, my favourite mistborn story. the amount of cosmere connections was enough to make me entirely grateful for reading the entire cosmere before this. also Wayne is a top 3 all fantasy favourite for me now.
Truly a rusting good end to era 2, I look forward to Stormlight 5 and Mistborn Era 3.
