I felt like the relationship was rushed and I didn't get any chemistry (aside from sexual) between the main characters. I'm not a fan of women being treated like fragile children that need protecting. Wasn't the right vibe for me.
While the story was pretty good, I don't care, or know, that much about video games and that part of the book started to feel tedious to me pretty quickly. I also didn't like the main characters very much and was very frustrated by their lack of communication and sheer selfishness. I did like how the book dealt with real life issues and the nostalgia of the video games I played as a kid.
While I liked the overall story, especially Ruby's, I felt that this book was poorly written. There was so much fluffy, unnecessary language and a few times I thought to myself that no one would ever talk that way in real life. To me it seemed that the author was trying way too hard. I also felt like Cricket's character was all over the place and not really thought out.
I am officially obsessed with this series. I love everything about it.
