I know I can't do this book justice in my review but I will try for Amanda's reviewing sake. What an INCREDIBLY powerful memoir, truly highlighting the struggles that AFAB people (Assigned Female At Birth for those who don't know) face in the medical world on a daily basis. The horrifying struggle that it was for her to get a diagnosis, let alone treatment, is something no one should have to face, yet I know that millions of AFAB people do, and I know that with this government the U.S. has right now it's only going to get worse. Truly impactful, insightful, and brave of Amanda to put her story out like this in plain English. Not only did she continue to advocate and fight for herself, but she succeeded in getting treatment. Not a cure mind you, but a treatment that helped mitigate some of the pain. I'm truly inspired by Amanda and how powerful she is for sticking up for herself, even in a system that wants people like her to be quiet and suffer in silence. I cannot say enough praise about this book, and I think this, and books like this, should be a requirement for everyone born without a uterus to read. Thank you Amanda for sharing your story!!! 💖

Favorite Part: When Demeter figures out how to incapacitate Dracula with prayers and strengthen Agnus with the moon slideshow.
Thoughts: This was quite what I was expecting but I LOVE that about it and I LOVED this!!!!! I will say, I do think the ending felt a bit rushed and should've been a little longer and more conclusively done, but otherwise I thought this was FANTASTIC!!!!! Favorite Character: Alice
Favorite Part: When Alice realizes the baby is actually a pig, sets it down, and starts thinking about all the children that would be better off as pigs.
Thoughts: What a delightfully whimsical tale! It did drag on a bit right before the end, and I have to admit, I think it's a bit boring that it was all just a dream, but overall it's very good and very fun!!!
This was a fascinating journey through the animal kingdom and the concept of death!!! Not only do I feel like I learned a lot about what constitutes the concept of death, but I also feel like I can appreciate Philosophy more after reading this!!! I have to agree with the author that the concept of death is widely spread throughout nature, and that a lot of animals have at least a Basic concept of death!!! After this, I am very confident my dog has a concept of death lmaooooo

Favorite Section: The end where Senator Sanders talks about the hope he has for this country and the idea of a political revolution that works for the people, not the Oligarchies.
Thoughts: Not only does this make me angry, this gives me hope that we, as young Americans, can change our country for the better!!! I think this should be required reading in both highschool and college, and I think more and more of the working class needs to rally and demand what we deserve!!!!! Overall, I find this very inspiring and believe more people should read this!!!!! Senator Sanders, I doubt you'll ever see this, but if you do, I want to thank you for writing this and inspiring me to get involved locally!!!!!!

Favorite Part: When Ethan and Ophelia almost have an intimate moment when they are all about to head to the towers to see if that helps.
Thoughts: I LOVED this, though I do wish it had been slightly longer at the end to explain some things more, like how they got the aliens out of all of them, and what the future is going to look like for them. Overall though, what a FANTASTIC sci-fi horror story!!!!! S. A. Barnes is making more enjoy sci-fi more and more, a genre I thought I'd never be able to do more then scratch fhe surface of!!!!!

Favorite Character: Nessa, though Mags is the most relatable character for me.
Favorite Part: When Nessa fed Laura to keep Mags from dying.
Thoughts: What an Incredible story about personal demons and overcoming destorying yourself!!! I LOVED every page of this, and the only thing I could ask for is more background on how this happened to Mags's family in the first place!!! I loved the symbolism of locking it away vs. letting it out and how that changed the story for the better!!! I also really loved the color explorations and how the colors changed things!!! Overall, an Incredible story!!!!!
So I can't rate this like I do fiction books, but this definitely deserves to be talked about again and again and again. Especially for us "white" people, I think every person who considers themselves "white" needs to read this at least twice (I myself plan on reading it again soon, not this year but maybe next, so I can redigest everything it's saying). This, as Toni Morrison said, "is required reading." It shows just how much black people in America struggle, and all the fears and burdens they struggle with. All in all, an absolutely incredible read!!!

Thoughts: While not the best of Austen's work, certainly not the worst either!!! I loved the epistolary style of the book, and most of the characters were delightful!!! The biggest issue I have is how short it is, I would've liked a slightly longer story!!!
