I so rarely share my thoughts on books I disliked, but I truly don't understand the hype surrounding Tender is the Flesh.
I understand the points it is trying to make, namely the corruption, class divides and violence that humans already enact against each other being thrown into the spotlight, with the main premise of the story being humans eating meat from other humans.
However, there was nothing clever, original or interesting in this book for me. Violence and torture porn for the sake of shock value, and no substance.
I definitely don't recommend it, and suggest that anyone considering reading it should check the trigger warnings beforehand.
