Interesting, well worked crime thriller. Soon to be a film with Eric Bana.

pure nasty. one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever read.

Really enjoyed this. Like a modern reimagining of John Carpenter's The Fog............ without the fog or any boats.

I really enjoyed this. It's bleak, its really sad and I kind of worked it out quite early on but that didn't spoil it for me. If you love atmospheric, gothic and creepy definitely give this one a go.

Absolutely loved this. Can't recommend it highly enough, especially people who love folky wicker man style tales of ritualistic sacrifice. It was made into a mini series with Bette Davis in 1978. Anyone seen that?

In 1963 Walter Tevis correctly predicted that human beings would indeed turn out to be hideous scumbags, breaking and ruining everything in their path. Devastatingly sad.

Even in Victorian times people would quite happily piss on your chips. Trust no one.

This book is relentless and GASP!!! what an ending!!!!

Cake, choirs, interior design and witchcraft.... what's not to like.

Not really a fan of short stories but I really enjoyed this. Love, death, dogs, food, murder and a bit of curtain twitchy naughtiness.

Morbid obsessional sexual compulsion.

Dark, twisted, uncomfortable and upsetting.

Read it.

Not just a story about ghosts but a story about abuse and the lengths people will go to cover it up. This was my second Joe Hill book, I enjoyed it but not as much as The Fireman.

Well, I didn't see that coming.

Epic romp with witches and some romance. Well written and bonkers. At 1207 pages I felt it could have been maybe 7 pages shorter.

I read Outsider first and it brought me here. Restored my faith in Stephen King.

I stuck to my rule of reading 150 pages before giving up. Just did nothing for me at all, couldn't get into it. Its a shame, really loved The People Next Door.

Another brilliantly dark and twisted thriller from Sarah Pinborough. Better than Behind Her Eyes I think.

Lovecraft at his best, so far ahead of its time. Wish someone would make this into a film.

This is definitely the best Stephen King book i've read in a long long time. The ending is a bit of a damp squid which is why its not a 5
