As long as I live I will recommend this book
I will advocate for this book to be taught at every level of college/university... there's so much to learn from self esteem and relationships with others from this book
The prose, the character work and that ending ...everything was nothing short of phenomenal for me ... definitely my favorite read in 2023
I feel this is a fantasy series that will have divided opinions from the start and I usually enjoy that but this one ...I will find it hard to believe there are people who didn't like this story
I feel this was really authentic ...one blind character, a mermaid and a priest who isn't loved by the people she actually serves
From the start the story is a bit sluggish in revealing the true enemies and what to expect from our heroes/villains and I can't believe I actually enjoyed that ..such delays usually put me off and I drop books like that very quickly
I wish the author described the buildings and layout of the continent more and I hope that changes in the following book
I did enjoy the slight development in her character work especially with naranpa and serapio in just 300+ pages ...I look forward to the second installment
Amazing, spectacular, show stopping, never done before , SENSATIONAL
Just insert the lady gaga GIF there
Good God almighty, this has to be the perfect end to one of the most exciting series I have ever read ...the writing, the pacing, the character arc involving Alizayd....the consequences of choosing the heart over head , consequences of war and lies spanning centuries
Everything tied up perfectly in the end ...the storytelling is definitely one of the best I have ever read ...I will never forget this experience...what a fantastic journey
If this is truly her debut work then I am in awe of the cohesive plot
The storytelling is just ...MWAHH ....this is amazing ...I can't truly put into writing how much I enjoyed this
Darayavahoush, Nahri, Alizayd even Ghassan ....all incredible characters that had their moments that had me like ..”oh shit”
This is exceptional storytelling...I will recommend this till the day I die ..thank you
Itkovian, Gruntle and The tiste andii were the main stars of this book but the most memorable would definitely be Shield anvil Itkovian of the god fener
I was blown away by the siege of capustan ..every creature, every sentence , every battle sequence in that part of the book was the best thing Erikson ever wrote in this series so far ...his pacing was better than deadhouse gates. ( Which almost killed me btw)
His ability to handle different characters at the same time with clashing personalities continues to impress on a superior level ...I am in awe of this book ....this was a life changing fantasy experience that I will never forget
