The original book came out in 2015 and has two more books: A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin.
A novella that bridges the gap between the events that happened and the ones that will happen in the later part of the series will be released on May 1, 2018. The books are produced by Bloomsbury Publishing and have had much acclaim since their release.
I was late starting to read this series, having read the first book in early 2018. At the time of this review, I am in the middle of the third book in this series.
The plot follows a huntress named Feyre (Fay-ruh), a 19-year-old human who kills a wolf in the woods. What Feyre is not expecting is for a creature to show up at her family’s door, and demand retribution for the deed.
Tamlin (Tam-lin) the male creature known as “one of the most lethal faeries who once ruled the human world,” kidnaps Feyre. As Feyre is getting to know Tamlin better, the feelings of ice coldness that she once had for him become more passionate and heated, but what Feyre does not know is that Tamlin is lying to her.
As Feyre learns more and more about the fae culture, and the world that she now lives in, she must find a way to stop the upcoming war or doom Tamlin and his world to be forever controlled by another ruling Court; i.e., loss of all freedoms.
One of the best things about this book is the fact that Feyre is a heroine who is not afraid to speak her mind. Usually, in high fantasy series where the leading lady is typically the damsel in distress, it is refreshing to see Feyre speak her mind and not hold anything back. Tamlin is not a great character, but you do start to feel for him as he lies to the reader and to the woman that he claims to love.
The other marvelous aspect of this book is the world building. It might be the fact that I have not read a ton of fantasy stories, but I was so impressed with the amount of detail that went into the universe where the book takes place. Maas really takes you into the mythical world, and once you are into the story, it is the kind of place that you do not want to leave.
I also loved the pacing of the book. Some parts of it were slow, but this was only because Maas offers details that become important later. The action scenes and the fast-paced sections of the novel are fantastic; the way that Maas writes an action sequence or a fast-paced scene in the book is like no other.

Characters-10
The characters in this book are delightfully fun. I love how the kids and adults have their own stories to follow, and their personalities keep the book interesting. Seeing the characters interact in this book is great. I'm big on Found Family, especially in Middle-Grade Books, and this book has strong Found Family vibes. With books like this, it's easy to have characters that are over the top, but Fearless is one where the characters feel grounded.
Atmosphere-10
Lots of the action in this book takes place in the Ethel Merman Theatre in New York City. There's a curse on the theatre, and the dark mysterious setting adds to the vibes of this book. I also love the moments outside of the theater on the streets of New York City.
Writing-10
One of the first things that drew me to this book was the writing. I loved how the writing was easy to follow, but also it made sense for this age group. I love the interludes in this book, and how the book incorporates music.
Plot-9
Fearless has an engaging plot. I enjoy following the clues and figuring out the mystery along with the characters. Outside of the mystery, there's a fun story about what goes into putting on a show, and the behind the scenes of the fun rehearsal process.
Intrigue-9
Fearless is an intriguing story. I love seeing the mystery unravel and how the characters come to a conclusion.
Logic-9
This book does a great job of explaining the emotions of the characters, and the story.
Enjoyment-9
I love this book so much. I think it's the perfect combination of fun and heartwarming. Kids and adults alike, especially ones involved in theatre, may enjoy the story.

Loved loved loved 9.86/10. I love one grumpy farmer cat dad and his sunshine social media influencer girlfriend.
Characters-10
I loved Evie and Beckett. We met them in Book 1, but I loved seeing their story unfold. I thought they matched each other perfectly in terms of personality. We also have appearances from the characters from Book 1, and I loved seeing them again. Evie as a character was definitely relatable, and I saw some elements of myself in her.
Atmosphere-10
I'm here for the small-town vibes of this series. I love the small-town stores and the phone tree.
Writing-10
I'm rating the audiobook a 10. I loved the duel POV,; both narrators did a fantastic job with the audiobook. The dialogue is witty and heartfelt.
Plot-10
I haven't noticed the tropes in the romances I read until recently. I loved the plot of this small town-second chance Romance, and I want to find more like it. The story was perfect because we saw how the characters were feeling and how the two of them grew throughout the story. I loved the small and big moments of their love story.
Intrigue-9
I was interested in the story. Because of spoiler reasons, I don't want to say why I docked a number for the intrigue of this story.
Logic-10
This was a logical story. The characters communicate most of their feelings and reasons for their actions. All the plot beats in this story made sense to me.
Enjoyment-10
I loved this story. I loved the characters, the plot, the writing, the setting, the cats, and how everything worked so well for me. If you like small town romances, check out this story.
