In an attempt to tie things off, the relationships between and identies of the characters were hugely improbable.

This is up there in my list with Susannah Clarke's “Parisi” and the novel “The 10,000 Doors of January”. Reading it while traveling myself, and being travel-weary, only enhances the experience.

Meh. Stepford-esque. The social message was drowned out by the irreality of “turning white” though Mormons will like it.

Oprah this or Oprah that... I really don't care. Bottom line...I would come undone, too, if life threw all of the crap at me that it very unreasonably throws at this unlikely protagonist.

What a great read, along the lines of My Antonia and Haruf's Eastern Colorado novels like Plainsong. I will put the rest of this author's ouvre into my Hold queue.

How depressing.

Not sure what it was about; but the dialogue was really good!

Save me from any more romance novels. This book had zero redeeming qualities, it was a sex scene, and a boring, repetitive one at that.

Finally, a good, no a GREAT book. This dealt empathetically with the crisis faced by gay people and New York City while being extremely engrossing in terms of storyline. So happy to have read this as I have been faced with truly horrible tomes in the last few weeks.

I read this just to see whether or not I was misinterpreting the shittiness of the first book but no I wasn't. I know it's fantasy but who'se?

I don't know why my friends are so hung up on this series. It is completely ordinary on one hand and on the other presents such an unrealistic portrayal ff romance and sex that one wants to puke. I also thought the violence was overdone.

Wow, pretty long, but another piece of American history about which I had no idea.Good read.

Just when you thought you were reading the musings of an aged English Walter Mitty, suddenly you are and there is something more! Wow, just wow.

Gave up on this one in the second evening of reading. Was hoping to hang on long enough to find out why the sister quit apparently bailed on her all-important wedding, but truth is...I . Just. Don't. Care. If I have to plow through another sex scene, and they are not different, no matter the summer in question. I'll die of the weirdness. Maybe JD Vance will like this. Certainly a lot of baby making. BORING.

I will think about this book until the end of my days.

I still feel guilt about selling my first edition of “In the Time of the Butterflies” But this book would have me know that there is no guilt to have. What a great premise– A Cemetary for Untold Stories! One wonders if it stands to reason that the US is the same kind of cemetary, or if the DR is?

I got along with this fine until the REALLY BAD, TOTALLY IMPROBABLE rush of an ending. Now all I can say is “whatever.”

Gets alla the stars for keeping me reading, though I could do without the psyco-babble. Not sure I got the point, if there was one, but it was fairly entertaining.

Wow. I kinda thought this was going to be another disappointing “I Hope This Finds You Well” kind of book, but it was so much more. Wow. Same!

I did not want to read this book and did not want to like it; it took a little bit to get into it but then it could not be abandoned. Still not sure if he's serious about being the father.

I already read The Bookbinder, so really looked forward to this. It hit the spot! Strangely, I believe I have read it already! But the second time, if I have, was just as riveting.

A novel about the complex lives of office workers....

Gave up on this dog after 300 plus pages of trying. I just couldn't see it going anywhere. I mean, he doesn't like DJT, neither do I But that does not a novel make. What was it about? No say....

Loved, loved, loved this. Gave away my whole day to it. Reminded me of P. by Susannah Clarke, but better. Felt the storyline was better developed. I am not often a reader of fantasy, but will keep my eye out for more from this author!
