This review is added to the trailer of the Book on YouTube. Check it out at Book Trailer of “Eliza Bluebell” by A. J. York

Eliza Bluebell is one of the most magical and beautiful book I have ever read. Right from the start of the book, there is a different feel to the characters, the settings, even the language. A certain happiness unfolds by just reading the book.

Eliza Bluebell is a magical girl, and her shadow is her friend. She comes to the small village of Blossom Brook and changes everyone's life with her small magic and also her cup cakes. Eliza's magic is a special one. The Magic is the love in Various relationships. She brings people together in her sweet way and thus, brings happiness to the town. The most important part about that magic is that by the end of the book, some part of the magic rubs on you as well.

The book is written keeping children in mind as focus audience, but it is suitable for all age groups. The story is subtle and sweet and anyone who reads it will fall in love with Eliza. AJ has created a wonderful magical story with Eliza. I am definitely looking forward to even more of her magic to be spread around us.

A very annoying and controlling boss, who everyone hates, including Cynthia. And suddenly he is dead and Cynthia is the suspect. Like she did not have enough on her plate already. And also she is the only one in the office when Nathan is found dead. So even she knows she is the most natural suspect. So how can she convince everyone she did not do it?

Ita Ryan has created a nice web of intrigue and suspense around the murder of Nathan and Cynthia being the suspect. The way the story is written is also different. The book starts with the murder. Then goes back into the circumstances and then comes forward to the present. The back and forth is truly interesting and does not disturb the flow of the story. The brief romance between Cynthia and Harold, Nathan's son is also shown with a dark cloud on top.

The way Cynthia then takes upon the investigation herself and figures out who is the killer is also a systematic and proper procedure. It is a bit slow in between though and a tendency to skip comes over you. But overall a good read.

Cause of Death is the first in the series of Annie Avants Mysteries. A serial killler is on the loose who kills Hispanic women with black widow bites - a very painful way to die. Detective Annie Avants along with her partner Detective Tom Weston team up with Deputy District Attorney Jesse Greyeyes and Technical Investigations Chief Laine DelMonte to figure out who the killer is before another woman gets killed.

The mystery is really interesting and almost fast paced. The psychological aspect of the serial killer is shown only at the end. Till then, the reader is left wondering who is the killer and what is his motivation. There are some dead ends on the way but the route diverts soon and the race goes on. Annie Avants is a nice female detective with the right elements of feminine traits with a nice strong blend of courage and bravery.

Annie Avants is here to stay and so is Renee Benzaim.

This is the 8th book in the Series of Astro's adventure. Although I haven't read the previous 7, this is an amazing book in itself. Astro and his gang has to go to space to find a replacement for the Moon. At the same time, on earth, Speed Bump Charlie and his new side kick, Furball are all set to destroy all the dogs of the world. But bringing a replacement for the Moon is not easy. And so is getting rid of all the dogs in the world. Who manages to accomplish their mission and who does not?

Astro and his gang are amazing. I have always loved dogs and this book just falls right in the my list of loved books. The cute illustrations in between and the the way the story goes, the language and the way the characters are built, the typical Cat and Dog animosity and the idea of the story overall is really beautiful and artistically prepared.

The book is for a bit older kids who can read themselves. There is no doubt that it will be adored by every one who reads it

Check out the complete review at Sunny Side Up (Lake Erie Mysteries Book 1) > Review

Sunny Side up is a Cozy mystery novel with two ladies as the lead who end up acting detectives with the flow of the story. Francie and June are best friends. June is a journalist who travels places for stories and Francie, more often than not, accompanies her dragging her husband along with both of them. Such a trip makes them end up in Kelleys Island which is where the main story begins.

This is the first Cozy Mystery novel I have read. It was totally different from what I have read so far. But it is a change I welcomed. The pace is slow. The crime gets committed after a lot of time into the story. But in the meanwhile we are taken through the relationships between the three main characters of the story - June, Francie and her husband. The friendship between the two ladies are really remarkable. The beautiful relationship between Francie and her husband is so much evolved and settled down into that comfortable friendship. Hamm is not so much fond of June but he understands their friendship and lets Francie go with June every single time. The relationships among the three of them is very endearing.

The mystery itself is very soft and does not exactly make you grip your seat. But it does give you the essential element of intrigue, suspense and a mild thrill. The way the ladies act as amateur detectives and go about “detecting” evidence to figure out the mystery and remove suspicion from Hamm is written in a very believable manner. There are scenes which are written in an unbelievable setting.

Overall, the story is a leisurely read.

An under cover cop blows off her cover and gets forced by her own conscious to take a retirement to her childhood home. She comes home to a different sort of mystery with a chilldhood friend and her psycho husband. Aided with an ex-military boyfriend and the area Sheriff, Lucy Walker sets off to yet another adventure to save her friend and bring the psycho gangster husband to justice.

The story is gripping right from the first page. The story line is fine and properly written. The character development is perfectly done. The mystery is subtly crafted and solved. Caroline felt like a kid at times but I suppose she is supposed to be like that. There were certain parts in the novel which felt like it is being dragged or too much information was given. A complete chapter was dedicated to a folk tale of the country side which I felt was not at all required. But if you remove all that (it is not a lot to be removed. Just some) it is a nice read in all. The closeness in a small country side felt intimate and soothing. The overall feel of the novel was really nice. A mystery without going dark.

The Magic Well is the 2nd in the series of Jess Adventures. Jess is an 8 year old girl who loves to find things out and discover more about everything. Her best friend, Ruby, gets unwillingly dragged into all the adventures along with Jess.

This time, Jess and Ruby stumble upon a well in the backyard of their school. The well has not been in use for a long time and Jess wonders if the well might be magical. They decide to try and using coins Jess's dad had given her, they make their wish. And that is the start of the next adventure for Jess and Ruby.

The story is a cute and fun filled story. The innocence of the children are shown by their wishes and their reactions when their wishes come true. Their relationship with their family, parents, teachers and other class mates really showcase exactly how the school environment is currently for kids.

This will truly be a nice read for kids around the age of 7-10. For a bed time story or even for a self read project, it will prove to be a good exercise and a good learning way. For adults, it is a good way to reminisce their child hood days and get a nostalgic feel within.

Check out the complete review at Deception (Romantic Short Stories) > Review

Deception is a short romantic story with mystery to it. In fact the entire story is a mystery - Is she? Is she not? The romance is not such that it hits hard. It is a soft and sweet romance and the mystery underneath goes strong till the beautiful unraveling of it.

Although the story is short in itself, the foundation of the story is strong. The base being story, the built up is interesting and hence the story is engaging. The character built up is nice and all the characters in the story has got their proper place in it. There are no characters that are unduly introduced or kept through the pages.

The portrayal of Sasha is really nice and gives out a good, positive message out to the reader. Samuel, as the grandfather, is also an interesting character, who even though he is not well, still shows amazing strength of character and beautiful support throughout, and who has not yet lost that trick of catching small things normally unseen to the eye. Trey is shown as a typical male who runs to protect the ones he love, and who is very easy to fall in love with for the exact same reason.

Overall a wonderful read. The last few pages, where the mystery is opened up is truly interesting and nicely written.

Check out my complete review at Clash of the Couples > Review

The book is a classic relationship guide book. Various writers, both men and women, have given different examples of how fights happen in relationships, giving their own life incidents as examples. Some are outright hilarious, some are informative, but all are incidents which actually happen in most of our lives. There are many stories in there which I felt are true stories from my own life.

Along with incidents, there are also lessons which the writers share that they have learnt over the years. The lessons are on how to maintain a successful relationship between spouses and how to avoid minor tiffs. Truly said in the book is that most of the Clashes between Couples are over minor issues and never over major ones. If those minor issues can be passed without reaction, most of the arguments will not happen. But we being humans, that comes but very rarely and therefore... we come up and read “Clash of the Couples”. Totally get a copy of it and read. You will laugh but also learn in the process.

Check out the complete review at Tristan (A Kendall Family Novel, #1) > Review t

Move along, Bella Andre, Randi Everheart is in the field now. Ever since I read Bella Andre, I had loved this kind of series where every book describes the love story of every sibling in a large family of 5 or more siblings. In the books that follow, some part of the previous love story is also shared which makes the reader feel so much in the family. Tristan so much fulfills the expectations and over shoots it too. I totally loved the first book of the series and absolutely waiting for the next ones (5 more siblings) to come.

Tristan is the youngest in the Kendall family and the most notorious too. Everyone else in the family followed their family business but Tristan wanted to race and had his fondness for high power bikes. Then there is Victoria, Tristan's soul mate who got away. The chemistry they have is really interesting. Although at times, the concept of true love seems to be taken a bit too far, over all, you can ignore and enjoy the whole story.

Tristan really caught me fully. I am looking forward to Connor being out :)

The story is about a Music Journalist who gets an interview with the hottest rapper in the country and falls head over heals for him. It so happens that the rapper himself gets intrigued by the feisty journalist and they start a relationship. However star life is not something which everyone can go through easily, and that is what the novel is all about.

It is a Romantic novel with a bit of mystery embedded into it. The romance gives out some explicit scenes but not too much for the novel to pass on to the erotic genre. This is the first part of the novel and therefore the story ends at a cliffhanger, thereby taking us to the “coming up” book of the series to know what happens next

Check out the review at The Legend of Dust Bunnies, a Fairy's Tale > Review

There is absolutely nothing to not love in this book. Forget love, there is nothing to absolutely go crazy and adorable in this book. Every single word to every single stroke of that brush is simply amazing and so creative, that I cannot see how this book can go anywhere else than just towards perfection.

The story is about a small little Dust Fairy who feels out of place among his co-Dust Fairies. So to get rid of this boredom and to create a new friend, Artie creates Dust Bunny. Soon the Dust Bunny becomes so famous that we find it everywhere in our homes today. The cutest ever story of the creation of Dust Bunnies and the cutest ever story for children

The book deserves nothing less than 100% marks for simply everything - creativity, innovative story, imagination, artistry, drawing, presentation, everything. Loved it absolutely

It is just a 5 page book. But the story written in those 5 pages are truly brilliant. Such stories are good examples of why beautiful stories do not require hundreds of pages. There are so many emotions etched in those few words.

The story is about an emotional meeting between an old man and an old friend. The story is about the conversation they have sitting in his old house. And what a conversation it is!!

Just like the number of pages, I will give the same number of stars to the book. You must read it. It is just a 5 min read.

A science fiction short story is truly challenging. Giving the thrilling science fiction with the complete back story and also the suspense is truly an art. And David has nailed it completely.

The character of Alec Myre is shown as eccentric but completely sane as any scientist would be. But he also loves his family very deeply, which is a unique character among scientists. The background is kept crisp and proper. The climax is also in a few lines but packed with a punch. The way space and life is compared to a science program is truly amazing.

The story is a short read but an interesting one.

Check out the complete review at Catching the Departed (Andy Karan, #1) > Review

The summary of the book was very captivating. That prompted me to contact the author for a review copy. However, the story did not live up to expectations.

The author tried very hard to write a gripping mystery. The attempt was very clearly visible throughout the book. The descriptions were a bit too much, but not something which will bother you. The story is passable. It is definitely not bad, but it is also not as great as the summary gives.

Andy Karan is a journalist who has retired from Army. He has a thing for his boss at the magazine he works. He loves adventure and knowingly goes towards danger.

One thing I liked is the comparison of Andy Karan with the Character of Karan from Mahabharata. Andy refuses to be like Karan and strives very hard to not accept defeat in life. That is something which should be taken upon as a life motto for everyone.

Other than that, the story was an average mystery novel. I did not get the thrill which is normally associated with thrillers.

It is a short read, like a really short read, about 30-40 pages. But Suneetha has captured the entire Indian essence in those 30 odd pages. The story is really wonderfully written.

There is no slack at any point of the story. There is a bit of suspense, some humor, amazing family bonding, at times even extra ordinary and beautifully described story. It is a beautiful half an hour read. It simply desires to be read at one go and not something you can put down in between. Engaging, capturing and interesting - this short story has it all. 5 stars hands down

Check out the complete review at Catch A Falling Star (An Eden Mystery) > Review

If you google “Catch a falling star” you will come across many books with the same title of the Romance genre. In that context, when you see the book title, you tend to wonder what kind of book this will turn out to be. But oh how much mistaken you would be if you think that and not take this book up!!

Catch the Falling Star has every bit of mystery, deceit, intrigue, suspense, thrill, murder and mayhem as any other mystery book would have, in face I would say this one has a lot more to it than meets the eye.

The start of the book is very innocent and deceiving. You really might have second thoughts if you intently read the first couple of chapters. But no sooner have you gone deeper, than you realise that now there is no looking back. You will be so absorbed into the book that it will be impossible to keep it down without finishing it.

The characters of the book are so subtly developed but they achieve amazing perfection as the story goes forward. The scenes of the book are so natural and brilliantly crafted that you feel this just might be your neighborhood, after all. There is nothing in this book below perfection. An absolute star this one is.

Check out the review at Bark and Bagoo: Backyard Hullabaloo > Review

This book should be read with changing voice and lots of action. Both parents and children will have so much fun with this one.

I am already a fan of Junia Wonders. She really does wonders with her books. This book is equally colorful and beautifully Illustrated. But this one has got more action than Boy and the Very Lost Pony.

Mr. Barks and Mr. Bagoo are neighbors. Mr. Bagoo is a happy go lucky guy whereas Mr. Barks is an ex-military man. These differences are enough to say how much Hullabaloo might be happening in their neighborhood.

It is a truly beautiful book with so much colours and pictures in it. The action in it also will help the kids to be hooked. Such a nice one.

Check out the complete review at Disciple (Book of Immortals, #1) > Review

The book has a unique concept and a very interesting story line. Once you start it, it is very difficult to put it down unless you finish it. There is always a suspense lurking around somewhere at every turn of the page.

Celine dies in a plane crash and ends up as an antagonist in the book she was reading. It takes her some time to realize this but soon she remembers that she is bound to death very soon. Now to avoid getting killed, she has to use her knowledge of the story and her skills to change the path of the story. In this path, there are many other obstacles to overcome and many disciples and masters to come across.

It is a very interesting and unique story line. The flow is really nice and characters are nicely explained. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Check out the complete review at Explaining Cthulhu to Grandma and Other Stories > Review

The book contains 40 different stories of different Genre. Some are sci-fi, some psychological but all have some punch in it. The book is compiled of the works of various authors who can pack a bang in just a few words. The talent is clearly visible throughout all the stories in the book.

This is a typical Indian story, with the national audience as the target. Only Indians will understand the book and the flow of the story. I took it up assuming it to be a Children's novel. For someone who is so used to reading global books, such a book is ... out of league, to be honest.

This book is different because of the freshness in writing style. This book is different because although the story line is age-old, the feelings that the protagonists go through is something anyone can relate to in their lives. Many instances in this book are so much common in our lives that we feel the story can very well happen to us too.

It is a sweet and cute romantic novel. The characters have their flaws in totally relatable manner. The way they react to situations are very much like anyone would do. That gives the story authenticity. It is a beautiful read and something which should be tried when someone is feeling low during the day. Totally beautiful.

An Airship comes and threatens Holmes brothers with dire consequences to London if the demands are not met. And the demand is money. Sherlock is skeptical. What is going on? He asks and the kids agree. Of course they want to investigate and find out what is going on.

The illustrations of Brian Belanger are really nice and gives a nice image to the entire story.

The story is nice and short. Although there is not much of Sherlock around, the kids make up for all the adventure you require. An interesting read.
