This was not at all what I was expecting but in a good way. I liked it more than I thought I would and am glad I picked it up. It's written beautifully. I loved the Hebrew in it. I am neither Jewish nor Cuban but I really enjoyed that aspect of everything and how they were woven together. I love that this based on R.M's own experiences working in the cemeteries, and it has made me want to travel to Europe even more than I already do.
The entire time reading this I thought it would be a 4 star but the grand gesture (that may have made me cry) and Benny himself made me give it 5. I listened to the audio and I think it increased my enjoyment. Being able to hear the puns and banter was perfect. This is probably one of the most feminist romances I've ever read but I loved it. It's a good look at what women go through in real life and on the Internet daily. I look forward to read more maybe Reese's friends or Benny's brothers ? I would love for a series where there's little cameos of everyone.

I don't know why but this series just isn't for me. I recently read book 1 in preparation for this book and while I didn't hate it, I didn't really like it either. It was cute but I just am not connected to it. I restarted the first book twice because I thought I was missing something at first. There's a ton of info and backstories and history between everyone already and I felt the same way with this one. There's a ton of characters and just so much going on the whole time. I am not having a good time and had to force myself to keep going. I'm so sorry this didn't work for me. I was really excited for it. Thank you netgalley, publishers, and the author for an earc.
This was a fun and cute middle grade. Just the right amount of spooky for anyone who gets easily afraid in my opinion. I would like to read more about Leo and any other cooky adventures she gets up too, she is only 111. She has a long undead life ahead of her. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I started this but I was pleasantly surprised.
Leo is off to finally have her birthnight otherwise known as the night of her first kill. She has it all planned out which quickly does not work out for her. She ends up teaming up with a very unlikely friend to help stop the evil orphanmaster before he gets his full power and hurts any of the towns people. All in hopes of keeping her mess she has created from her parents and her nanny.
I would like the next book today please. Idk if there is a next book but I really hope so. I really enjoyed Worst Best Man and this book A TON. The Wedding Crasher was funny, hot and just all around cute. My favorite trope is fake dating and this did that perfectly. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud in a romance so much. The second hand embarrassment in a few parts was equally as palpable.
Swingers, sex parties, and birthing stimulators are a few things that I was not expecting that really made me stop for a second and just sit there thinking “how did we get here” and that's all I'm gonna say on that.
But I love Solange and Dean. They are both go all in or don't bother type people who fit perfectly together from day 1 and they just are so good together. I love Solange and Lina's family. They are peak meddling aunties and I would be okay just reading about their shenanigans honestly. I just want to read about them forever. I can't wait for a glimpse at their lives in whatever book comes next. I also would like a romance about Brandon?? He deserves his HEA too.
I wasn't expecting anything in this book. It is much heavier than I thought it was going to be but I still really enjoyed the story of family. I laughed a little, cried a few times, and my jaw might have dropped more than once. Also I did the audio and love that it was narrated by the author.
Please note: if you are looking for a review about the rep in it, I cannot give you that. I am a white lady in the U.S please look for reviews by Trinidadians on that.
EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO CRY IN THE CORNER A LITTLE LONGER.
This book was perfect. This is my first book by Joy Avery and I will be rushing to go read everything else she writes. I didn't realize this was book 2 in the Honey Hill series so I'm excited to read about Quade and Luden and I can't wait to read about Sebastian and Happi. My emotions were every where the entire time I was reading this. I laughed, I cried, I got annoyed they wouldn't just admit their feelings mostly but I loved every second of it. I am invested in their story and the side characters. Speaking of side characters, Zachary is the best kid on the planet. The entire thing was just so sweet and loving and also steamy. Rylee and Canten are just my fave couple right now.
