See allI don't think I ever would have picked this book up if it weren't the only interesting-looking thing on the shelf of books to pick from for the summer reading program. I found myself presently surprised – it was engaging right from the beginning. I think the most interesting thing to me was seeing how things from my religion – I'm mainstream LDS – were twisted into nearly unrecognizable rules and ideas in the FLDS church. I think it's terrible the things people do to each other in the name of God. I'm glad she finally found happiness and I hope things get better for the people raised in that church.
I recently found Tamora Pierce and have been blazing through her novels, but this one and its sequel are definitely my favorites so far.
I thought this one took a little time getting into but then was one of my favorites so far. Salvatore is really good at telling a story. I really wish I had read this before the Drizzt books because it would have flowed nicer that way. It would have worked well to learn of him here first and then read the others because I wanted to know more about the character.
This is absolutely the worst piece of garbage I've ever willingly picked up. I still can't quite fathom why I finished it. It was disturbing, disgusting, terribly written, and droll. I loathed this book. Let this be a warning to you all!
