The Marquess Wins a Wife

I really enjoyed this book! The FMC, Lizzie, and her family are experiencing pretty abject poverty, and she’s doing her best to keep their household afloat. One way she decides to do that is to kidnap the man who got her younger sister pregnant in order to make him marry her sister — except she kidnaps the wrong man!

Our MMC, Lucas, was a really interesting character to read about. I liked his personality and how he and Lizzie interacted as they got to know each other. I also felt like he and Lizzie’s personal flaws and problems felt really real and believable, which made their love story even stronger for me.

Highly recommend if you enjoy banter, found family, and characters learning to grow past the problems that have been holding them back from their happiness.

WOW, this was an amazing book. First off, I love ancient history and learning about old civilizations, and this book has so many references and moments that were recognizable to me or really felt grounded in real history. It’s a great blend of historical fiction, fantasy, adventure, and romance

The main characters, Ellie and Adam, are both a treat and I loved watching their relationship develop as they adventured together.

I won’t spoil too much about the plot, but I do want to say that the villain in this book was very well-written. Right off the bat he feels deeply unsettling and scary, and it felt truly dangerous any time he was on page.

Looking forward to reading the rest of this series and seeing more of Ellie and Adam’s adventures!

This was a great book, I loved the dynamics between Guy and Arabella, and how grounded their relationship felt.

The scenes of intimacy were so well-written, and genuinely felt fresh and special in a way that so many books haven’t quite captured for me.

I‘m adding this to my list of books to re-read when I need something hopeful and beautiful and funny and comforting
