I read it only to see how close to Verity it was. It was very close, but I actually liked it better. But that's not saying much. Both had stupid unbelievable people. And whomever think Montauk is a cheap place to buy a house has done no research whatsoever!

A true love letter to books and reading!

I did listen to the whole book even after I figured out the ending, so yes, I am calling the book predictable. I was hoping for a real twist to prove me wrong. The editing could of been much tighter, parts were very repetitive and slogged it down.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. The ending could have saved it, but alas, it didn't.

Lee/Leo/Nora seemed like a weirdly normal, sociable woman for a 26 year woman who couldn't move on from a relationship that lasted 6 months from ten years ago (when she was 16). Maybe she was extremely obsessed with it/him (which would have made a better twist–an unreliable narrator who had amnesia!) Also, it seems as if she has no other friends in her life other than Nina.

Other than a few outdated terms (that are a bit offensive today) it held up better over time than I thought it would.
