Moose wants to be a fairy, and she tries on all her favorite outfits to find the perfect one. When she gets there and passes the fairy test, some of the other new fairies make fun of Moose because of her size. But when something threatens the new fairies, Moose does not hesitate to step in and protect them, even though they were mean to her.
Cute story about forgiveness and acceptance. I enjoyed this cute little read!
David discovers a monster in his basement. The monster is hungry, and David is a little concerned that he might become the snack of the monster. As he helps the monster head home, at the monsters request, he begins to wonder if he was being smart at going off with the monster.
When they get to the monsters house, the monster's mother says dinner will be served soon. This makes David wonder if he is going to be the dinner.
Imagine his surprise when something else shows up!
This was a sweet little story, and I enjoyed it. I loved the friendship aspect, even though David was afraid that he might end up being the monster's snack.
When his sister goes missing, the Little Wooden Robot goes in search of her. During their adventure of returning home, they must rely on each other to make it safely back.
I enjoyed this story, as it was a great lesson in working together, and friendship - with some adventure along the way! Perfect for young readers!
In “Childhoods of Famous People” we get a little background of things that they would have done as children. The author writes in such a way that you can guess who the famous person is, using the clues provided before it is revealed who they are. My kids had a fun time guessing at some of the famous names included here.
Interesting and fun read. Great for kids who want to know what it was like to grow up in different cultures around the world.

In Living Ghosts and Mischievous Monsters, the author takes us through different Native American ghosts and monsters throughout the culture.
I really enjoyed the stories and the different backgrounds that were presented within the book! Overall a great read! If you love a good ghost story, then you want to check this book out!

This was such a cute book! I loved reading through it and seeing all the different recipes and areas from around the world.
Bonus to this book, there is a recipe section in the back, with a breakdown for the each of the cultures, and some of their food - the dumplings!

As I was reading through this book, I really loved it. These Sea Stories were amazing, and I think I actually got sea-sick from my couch a few times as we were pitching through the storms and the different tragedies that beset the different ships that were discussed in this book.
Sea Stories takes you on different adventures, each tragedy besetting ships and crews, and their fight to survive the high seas.
I loved reading through this book! It was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend reading through this book!

Short, cute story about the Great Pyramid. Join Annie and Nico as they travel back to Egypt, and take a good look at the pyramid, who it was created for, what it holds, and some of the interesting facts surrounding it. I loved the breakdown at the end of the important figures and items, as well as the other great wonders of the world.

Sweet little story about a baby bird, who is just a bit different than the other birds. Another bird shows him how he can be a bird, but not fly.

What happens when you get to choose a wish? There are so many ways that you can spend those wishes, but Rabbit does not know to spend his wishes. He looks to his friends to see what they would get with their wishes. Instead of spending his wishes on himself, he instead gives them to his friends, but finds that he does not have any left for himself.
This is a cute little story of friendship, and how small simple acts can mean bigger things to friends. Loved the art work and the story flowed smoothly! Perfection!

Kathryn Warner did a great job of bringing as much information as she could about the five daughters of Edward I, and their ups and downs throughout life.
I enjoyed reading through this book!
I got to know Edward I and Llewellyn through Sharon Kay Penman years ago, and I am a bit more sympathetic to Llewellyn in this book than the author was.
Overall, this was a fabulous read! I enjoyed the breakdown of the military maneuvers, as well as the dedication that Edward I took in subduing Wales. He was more determined than his predecessors, and it showed through the steps and efforts that he took.
The author did a great job with the materials, and breaks it down in an easy to read piece that readers will enjoy and connect with.
This was a great read! I loved the in-depth analysis and the rundown of the issues that surround the battle of Hastings. While we have contemporary sources, what we are gleaning from modern study is very profound, and worth a deeper look at the official battle site - and the possible new location.
Absolutely amazing read, and one that was well worth the time to sit and read through. I was blown away through the information and the commentary by the author.
Perfect for those who are interested in the Battle of Hastings and the Norman invasion!
The Shades of Grey trilogy is the perfect reading material for a rainy weekend! I sat and read through the entire series, while recouping from being sick. There is something about these characters that draw you in, and the emotions that are evoked - well, you can feel it rising from the pages as you read.
The Civil War has long been one of my favorite areas of study, and Jessica James does a great job of weaving in historical facts around the story that she is setting.
Fall in love with the characters, and journey your way through a trilogy that will leave you wanting more when it is over! Fabulous and engaging from the start!

You are going to want a box of kleenex with you as you read through this heartbreaking book. As a mother, it was very difficult to read, but as a historian, it was full of great information!
I ran through the gambit of emotions on this one - anger, sadness, righteous indignation. Now, taking all that aside, I had to put it in the context of the times. Things were different, and I tell my students that we have to be careful to not place the strictures of today on the past.
Reading through stories of children watching other children, it was common place. Childhood work laws are not what they are today, and so sending a child to work in the factories, apprenticing them to work on ships, or other trades was the norm.
What was not the norm was the horrid abuse that some of these children went through. Reading through some of the stories and learning that some stood by and did nothing - why!? Was it out of fear, or cowardice? We don't know, and we won't ever know.
As I stated, you are going to want kleenex on this book - but the information it contained was very well done, and documented very well. It was not a hard read in context, but it is hard on the heartstrings.

Bob Drury takes us through the life and times of Daniel Boone - his struggles, family life, ups and downs, and so much more.
We don't hear about the hard times that he went through, or the stain that was sometimes fixed to his name. This book takes you through his entire life - from birth, the deaths of some of his children, ups and downs with the native tribes, and his eventual death.
Overall, I loved this book! It was full of great information, and some of it I was not aware of. I found this to be one of those books that you want to add to your research shelf, for future perusing and use.
For lovers of history, this is one that you don't want to miss!
Justice seems to move at a snails pace - but this was not always the case! Take a step back in time through the eyes of a member of Scotland Yard, and see how policing used to be!
For lovers of true crime, this book is PERFECT! I absolutely loved reading about the cases, the sentences meted out, and the no-nonsense take of the author in discussing both crime and criminal.
Oh my goodness, Sharon Bennett Connolly has done it again! This was the perfect romp through a medieval family! Honor, scandal, marriages, and intrigue all play into the Warrene family lines.
Beginning with William of Normandy, and going down through the Wars of the Roses, this book will read as an action-packed, give me all the information book!
I loved this one! The Warrene family was very prominent throughout the medieval history of England, and this book will dive into their past, and share everything that you could ever want to know about this ambitious family.
