im sorry this was very boring. i get the point but in my opinion it was done poorly. this would do better as a tv show probably but as a book its just kinda a slog to get thru

literally nothing happend in this book up until the last 2 chapters but the atmosphere and dread and the survival was so good. any book abt surviving the winter, specifically in a small community, will automatically be amazing to me

3.5

man this is a hard one to rate so i might change it eventually. i loved so many things about this one: leah's chapters, the relationship between leah and miri, the atmosphere, the writting; but then there were so many boring chapters that made the book feel like it's 400pgs long. i love everything sea/ocean themed, especially in horror, thats why i think im willing to rate this higher than i should (and also bc its a lesbian horror novela and thats my fav subgenre of books). also this reminded me so much of the game called “iron lung” and the movie “the shape of water”

noooo!!!!!! this was so predictible 😭😭 the whole book i was like “surely it can't be __, that would be too obvious and dumb” ....... oh well. im so dissapointed but at least it was a quick and easy read

if the first 30%-40% weren't such a slog to get through i would probably rate it higher. i guessed the plot twist but it was still scary and interesting so i didn't mind. this would make a great movie tbh, hope someone will pick this up one day

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE EPIDEMIC OF THIS HERE CRACK PIPE

read this in one day, it was very similar to the first book thats why its one star lower but still a crazy read as always. freida puts crack in those books.

3.75

sadly this was not an amazing 5 star read for me as i hoped it would be. i love all the characters ( jesper and wylan my beloved ) but i could not care less abt the heist and all that sorry. it wasn't what i expected at all but i will continue with the series just for the characters alone

SO GOOD. it ripped me out of a slump. so infuriating to read but so interesting, i couldn't put it down

3.5/5

a pretty solid story, would like it more if the characters weren't as cringy as they were

this book was such a slog. i dnfed it like 4 times before bc i just couldn't get into the story and writing but everyone gives it 5 stars and raves about the ending. i should've just let it go coz it was not worth it in my opinion. the first and last chapter were good, the rest was awful and felt like it was 500 pages long. i would love it if the first chapter was just a short story tbh

2.75

first of all i wouldn't call that horror, it's more of a slightly weird literary fiction story?? i liked how all the stories intertwine, it was fun unraveling it all. the writting is a bit dry, it gets boring at times and overall i just expected something else from this

2.5

this makes me so sad. thought i would love this book but it put me into a huge slump and took me way too long to read. i love the characters and all the funny stuff between the friends and delilah but the romance just did not hit me like it should. i found myself not caring abt anything after the 50% mark, nothing really happend and it was a bit boring :/

had some moments that were boring/uninteresting to me but overall it was very good and made me hate this country even more

kinda fell apart after the 60% mark but the ending was good again. i wanna be her friend so bad

2.5

this was fine, loved it at the beginning but the cat and mouse part dragged for me. it was fine at first but then idk i just stoped caring and i felt like there was no pay off or satisfaction at the end. almost no plot twist and the ones dat happend i didnt really care for. it wasnt anything bad, pretty quick to read but just fine.

2.5

as someone who doesnt like short stories this was fine

4.5

such a great read, i really like the way this was written. i had some concerns before reading this book but thankfully i was wrong. this touched on so many important topics and in my opinion everything was handled well. my fav essay by far was “men like you”

3.75

this was insane???? read in one day, i think Jennifer Hillier might be my fav thriller author. this wasnt as good as little secrets, mostly bc it was a bit too ridiculous for me but i still loved the ride.

1.75

this just wasnt what i thought it was so i didnt care about anything. not a fan of survival stories without any scary/paranormal stuff. but that aside the book was just fine idk, nothing new or surprising

4.5

SO GOOD. i teared up. read it in one day with almost no breaks, it ripped me straight out of a slump

i'm finally freed from this boring book. on paper i should love it coz i loved normal people but I didnt care abt anything or anyone, nothing happend in this and everyone was annoying. gave it 2 stars just bc it had alot of sentences and thoughts I annotated and found relateable but it still wasnt enough to save this book.

1.5

boring, predictable and just overall bad

3.5

read that in one day, a solid book. theres alot of stuff that bothered me abt this one but at the same time it was very fast and entertaining to read. i didnt really connect to the characters as much as i would like to so all the stuff that happend didnt make an impact on me. loved the plot twist doe, didnt see it coming.

rating this 3.75 stars but im gonna be generous and round up

its a solid start to a series but idk why i just didnt connect to it. i love the characters but i didnt really care abt anything until the last 200pgs maybe. still a great book and i wouldnt rate it any lower coz its more of a me problem tgan the book and im excited to continue the series coz i know it gets better

3.75

this took me way too long to read bc of my job and slump but i still liked it alot. reminded me of gggtm series but if the main character was a grown woman.
