Feminist retelling is a bit strong when it doesn't even pass the Bechdel test.
Started reading this during a time where my anxiety was more prominent, and as a warning to some there are some parts of the book, especially at the start, that can trigger anxiety. It's probably best to read this when you're in a good place mentally, but there's lots of interesting points in here and food for thought. Would definitely recommend reading it, but take your time - it's not a book for reading in one sitting.
It's a page turner at the end, and the plot is fine, but I struggled with the writing style. Felt like a lot of overused clichés and sentence structures that made certain parts of the book a little tiresome to read. Overall though, it's a quick read with a decent plot - good book for a holiday read!
This is such a fantastic guide to sourdough and I love the recipes in here - especially the San Francisco style recipe!
Really useful to have the troubleshooting section and it's definitely helped to improve my bread. I think all sourdough bakers can learn something from this, whether just starting out or if they're more experienced bakers looking for some different recipes to try.
Highly recommend this for anyone looking to begin or get better at baking sourdough bread.
