Not the longest story in the collection of recent SW books but a decent read. A few cool cameos coupled with a building story that plonks you nicely into the events of TROS.
After watching the film “Everest” I was interested in the details of the 1996 disaster and this book came up more frequently than others. Although it's a difficult read in places, not down to the author's ability to describe events, more so the amount of death at the hands of the conditions and the inner turmoil that remains to this day. Intriguing, horrific and personal. Recommended if you're after an honest account of the events.
A cool idea having a collection of stories but different authors and some are better than others. Will likely pick up again and re-read at some point.
A decent start to the new era of Star Wars storytelling and a refreshing look at the galaxy without the weight of the Skywalker story. A disaster tale told well with a good insight into the Jedi at their prime along with a more in-depth look at the Force. Throw in a savage new band of baddies and you have a good Star Wars read. The pacing is a tad slow at times but otherwise, Charles Soule delivers. Looking forward to the next novel in the High Republic era.
