See allOh my god. I'm writing this directly after finishing it and I am absolutely dumbfounded! I knew Agatha Christie's reputation for mysteries but I assumed it was over hyped like most book reviews that I see. I NEVER saw the ending coming. I was on the edge of my seat with each new piece of information that was reviled and the pacing was incredible. The drama too?! I am actually obsessed. I cannot wait to read another Agatha Christie book.
I enjoyed the pacing and the plot. The monster was really well developed, the suspense really added to how much it scared me. I loved everything except for the other three main characters. They really worked as horror novel characters but everyone other than the main character was so hard to connect too. I consistently just got frustrated with them and their unwillingness to communicate. technically they were not bad characters just not the type that I enjoy. They were each their own people and subtle similarities and differences. I enjoyed the book and I enjoyed the Netflix movie :)
It took me a while to actually get through this one, I just didn't reach for it very often. The writing was good; I think it was the subject matter of these stories that I just did not like. All of the characters are slightly off-putting and I know that I prefer a character bases book. The plots of the story were interesting but I just didn't love it. I would definitely read another Bora Chung book however. I really enjoyed her voice and writing style overall.
