Excellent new character. And Mr Locke did a superb job of tying it neatly into the existing Creed-verse.
Didn't quite grab me like previous Davenport novels have. The story was really quite slow.
The best of the Michael Bennett series, by far. I believe the antagonists made this story as good as it is. Perrine and his girlfriend Mariette really made the story.
Not as gripping as past Reacher novels, but still better than a lot of others out there.
Some of the stories in the middle of the book were lackluster, but most were pretty good.
Excellent. Second only to the very first Creed novel. And it looks like things will only get more interesting.
Quite rambling. I'm sure the story could have been told in about half the length. Too many meaningless descriptions of DC locals and whatnot. Almost like a tour-guide wrote half the book.
Better than the previous book, that's for dang sure. But it would have been hard to get worse than the middle book in this trilogy.
It's nice to get another book in the series that's not a rambling collection. The books with a tight focus are my favorites.
Wow! I've been waiting for this since it was first announced, and it didn't disappoint. Excellent characters. Wonderful use of emotion. One of the best books I've read in a while.
In the beginning, I felt like I was missing parts, or the author had forgotten to include something. The feeling eased as I continued to read, but never really went away. It's the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.
There is a potential here that Lightman kept scratching at, but never fully realized. Certainly an entertaining read, but it could be so much more than that.
Good main character, and it left me hoping it would be a series. What more could you ask for?
Not generally my kind of book, but I gave it a shot since it was so highly reviewed. Wasn't disappointed. Reminded me of Fathermucker, told from a woman's perspective.
First half was okay, reminding me of the previous Pearce novel. But then it switched to a gore-fest instead. Skipped large parts just because it was boring. Especially the drugged parts. It's enough to know a character is drugged and babbling. I don't need to read page after page of it.
One of the best books I've read in a long time. It really did have everything. It toyed with my emotions brilliantly, making me laugh out loud, making me anxious to the point of nauseousness, sad almost the the point of crying (I doubt I'm capable of crying, but this is as close as I've ever been), frustrated by the completely believable ineptitude of the characters and their personal interactions...
Brilliant book. Can't recommend it enough.
I have to admit, this book made think. It also made me feel stupid. It was good none the less.
Didn't have quite the same emotional punch as the first book in the series, but it was still very good.
Potential squandered. The book started off with a good premise, had an interesting cast of characters. But about half-way through, it switched gears. Characters started acting out of character. The story became disjointed. I wanted to really like this book, but it shot itself in the foot.
I know that Changes was the name of a previous book in this series, but it could just as easily have applied to this one. The ending was... wow.
