I was one of the lucky few who stumbled onto this book through early TikTok posts—and honestly, I don't understand why it took me so long to finally read it. The hype? Completely deserved.

From page one, I was locked in. The tension is palpable, the found family dynamics hit all the right notes, and the twists kept me guessing until the very end. Did I mention the tension?!?!

One thing is certain: I need Book 2. Now!!!

And there we have it... my 3rd 5 star read of the year!

This was so addictive! The slow burn, the second chance, the drama, the found family, and the love.

Absolutely devoured this and would happily again! 💗

I'll admit, this almost became a DNF—the heavy Southern drawl from both characters nearly lost me. But by chapter 5, I was fully invested in the story and characters, and I couldn't put it down. The ending sets up the next book perfectly, and I'll definitely be continuing the series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and J.L. Beck for the early listen!

"Lights Out" remains my favorite in this trilogy, and this sequel ranks a close second.

The author clearly poured care into the story while infusing it with the same personality that made the first book so enjoyable.

A romantic suspense packed with humor, it had me laughing out loud more than once. The surprises kept me guessing, and honestly, the unexpected twists made the story even better.

💙❤️💚

Talk about your complex characters and relationships! On the surface, you think it's a sports romance, but at the end, you realize it's a beautiful story of people with family and generational trauma who fall in love and heal each other.

“Maybe I haven’t made it clear, love. You are a risk I’m willing to take.”

This was so enjoyable! At times, it leaned too much on its "Gothikana meets Dexter" theme, but overall it developed into a steamy, nail biting, addictive read.

Thank you, Avina St Graces and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this early!!

"He looks at me the way men like him always do. Like I’m temporary."

Queue the Feminist Rage!!! A romantasy retelling of the Scarlet Letter? YES!

This truly delivered time and time again. The authors brillant plotting with twists I didn’t see coming, but all connected.

I am beyond eager for the series to continue!!

*Very grateful for an ARC from the author! Thank you for sharing this world with me!

Oh, Tanner! Yes, I am in love with you! ❤️

Tanner falls first and hard! Millie is determined and strong, and when it comes to love - her determination is her downfall. It's a beautiful HEA! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh, sweet Scout! How I loved her journey. Truly a story about finding what *YOU* want and following your heart. 💗

I connected with this one on a deep level. The mental health representation mirrored my experience and Radley's journey gave me hope. And Lux? He is exactly who us mental health girlies need.

Contains spoilers

It was cute! I enjoyed the characters and the guys reading Cosmopolitan.

<spoiler>and i so appreciated the realistic sex scene where she did not get there. It's so rare in romance books! </spoiler>

Bones story was the strongest of the series! I'm eager for Nite's story.

It was alright... i struggled to really connect with the characters.

I really want Jasmine to get her own book... but I can understand why she doesn't yet. She needs to find someone not to tame her, but to run alongside her ❤️

Oh, my heart. I loved this trilogy! The characters, the love, the growth, and the friends! I am not ready to leave Maxton Hall 💗

This one needed to be longer! I need more of Graves & April. 🖤💜

5.25 stars! Yes even bonus stars!! Perfection! The characters, depth, love, growth, and flamingos!!! How i ADORED this and its easily one of my favorite books!!

Audiobook was near flawless. A few lines repeated...maybe missed during editing? But I still LOVED the narration.

I loved the mystery and was totally shocked late in the book (no spoilers!)

I did struggle to connect with the characters though.

While set in North Carolina, I kept picturing it in the Pacific Northwest along with the Cat & Mouse Duet. There were a few elements in this story that felt repeated from the Cat & Mouse stories.

The domestic abuse is a large part of this story and I appreciated the author realistically handling such a difficult topic.

Felt like the story never really...took off.

I really, really enjoyed this series! And I'm so relieved we ended with an HEA!

I first fell in love with the story ten years ago, getting hooked from the very first chapter. After a long reading slump that lasted nearly a decade, I finally returned to it—and I’m thrilled I did, because I couldn’t put it down. This book is a refreshing departure from my usual, spicier reads, keeping me eager to discover what happens next.

February 2026 Re-Read: This brought back memories! 10 years ago I loved this story... let's see what I think now!

January 2016: Why was this book only 50 pages?!

I read this in just one sitting and absolutely loved it! First, let me offer up some praise for the author's development of Katelynn and how she is a strong woman and one who does not give everything up for Finn. As a feminist, I greatly appreciate stories like this! Moreover, I loved reading how Katelynn handled working in a male dominated industry (sports journalism). I hope the rest of the books in the series live up to this!

February 2026 Re-Read: The male main character living in the Trump Tower in Chicago did not age well... The characters do not make any specific comments about Trump. Just the mention of the character living in the Trump Tower in Chicago. Book published in 2014.

January 2016: Although I love the story and the characters, this really should not have been divided up into six books of only 50 pages. This really could have been just one book.

February 2026 Re-Read: Oy vey... 10 years later and I'm struggling with this book.

January 2016: Even though I hate how this book is split up, I am hooked on the story!!!

Once you finish Hunting Adeline, this should be next! It offered some closure, after enduring lots of pain.
