Very funny. I liked the issues he grappled with and the answers he came up with. Not crazy about how he always had to go to extremes, but I guess that gets book contracts. :)

This book was really awesome. So much more than just a book with ideas and patterns–each chapter was a true lesson, with ideas that I had never thought of before but which made lots of sense.

The narrative jumped around so much that I lost track of what was present and what was past at some points. There were unanswered questions and things that never got resolved. I did want to keep reading to find out what was going to happen.

Loved, loved, loved this book.

This was good, but couldn't hold a candle to her other books.

Hilarious. I wish I knew more French, and that I wasn't reading it in a free, crappy Kindle version.

Loved these stories. None of them made me depressed. Yay.

Solid kids' book.

Loved it like I did the other two.

I love the characters. The plot is too faced-paced for me.

A series of interconnected, sometimes slightly contradictory vignettes, each with its own slightly cheesy ending. Entertaining, I guess.

I would almost give this 4.5 or 5. It was really different from anything I've read in a long time–both in plot and the way it was written. Dense writing–I had to stop and go back and read a sentence again more than once.

Very funny. Loved the characters. The story jumped around a bit, but considering that the author was under 20 when she wrote it, it's great. Strong female character.

This book was perfect in every way. Thank you, Jasper Fford, for the recommendation.

This was really good. I resisted it for a while because I thought it would be too violent/sad, but the violence was mostly off-stage (thought still awful) and the sadness felt right–would have felt fake if it ended any other way. I really liked the characters.

Heavy-handed, portentous, no humor, obvious plot. Couldn't bring myself to read the last 5 pages.

I really enjoyed this. She was very honest about her struggles. Gonna start following the blog to see what happens...

Loved this book. So funny and honest and great. Plus, it's got a lot about libraries. What more could you want?

There was a good story here, if you could find it buried under some truly craptastic writing.

I loved this book. Some of the characters' stories were hard to take, but it all felt very real. At first it was hard to get used to jumping from story to story, but soon I began to look forward to each one. And the way it fit together at the end made it all feel very right.

I love Ann Patchett. So glad there are so many more of her books I haven't read.

Enjoyed it–looking forward to the sequel arriving in my mailbox any day now.

The plot thickens. Lots of fun.

This was really great. Disturbing in parts, but excellent.
