I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this, and I'm annoyed that it took me years before I picked this up.
Honestly, this is one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a good villain origin story.

This was such a fun and nostalgic read and brought me right back to my teenage years.

While I think this book wasn't as good as Ally Carter's YA books, I did greatly enjoy it, and I hope she continues to write more adult books(hopefully Alex's story next?).

I really enjoyed this one.
I haven't had time to read the last two months, but I finally decided to pick this book up and I was actually able to make time to finish it.

An interesting start to a new fantasy series.
I was slightly underwhelmed in the beginning of this book, but by the end I was thoroughly engrossed in the story and I can't wait to read the next one.
I love a story with court intrigue and drama and this book delivers.
However, I do think it would have greatly benefited from a few more edits. It has a lot of potential, but just needs a little more work.
Overall, a decent start to what I think will be a very exciting series.

Officially obsessed with this book!
Probably one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
This book pretty much has everything I could want in a fantasy series and I can't wait to read the next one!

I really enjoyed this unique Arthurian retelling.
This book is full of action, interesting world building, great banter, a quest, one-tent trope, great imagery, love and betrayal.
This ended on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the second book.
