Horny archeologists searching for magical artefacts while preparing for THE knot season!
This book was a fun read and got me a lot more invested in the artefacts search and the training to be part of the guild side of the story then I what expected. I didn't expect the plot to be this interesting and developed and I really enjoyed it!
4,75⭐️ This book has such an interesting and captivating story. I really appreciated my time with this book, the universe is rich and complex, the magical element is well thought out, the characters have depth and their flaws are explored and the romance is mostly A1
The two things that I wasn't a fan of: - The cover is beautiful and I really like it, but our heroine is clearly described as having brown skin and unless i'm mistaken, the heroine on the cover does not correspond to that description. - Also the first real interaction between our two romantic leads, things got out of hands in my opinion and I could have continued without that specific part. I understand the context, but I couldn't wrap my head around that first interaction, even with the full story I still feel iffy about it.
I am so excited to read the sequel to this great book and I feel really happy knowing that there are more tomes to come in this series!
This book contained some really great advices and realizations about life the author has experienced and wanted to share in a big sister kind of way.
I enjoyed it and some of it really resonated with me, but I wish I was a little more invested in her story. Maybe this is because we lived such different lives?
3,75⭐️ Interesting POVs to a mythical tale, I also liked the use of modern slang (without falling into the Internet slang(in my opinion)). It helped me understand the complex emotions the characters were having throughout the book and seeing it through a modern glance made it feel realer and closer to my reality.

2,5⭐️ The start got me interested in the story, but than it dragged and the focus wasn't on our main characters anymore, because of that it lost my attention.
Also the connexion between the main couple felt very shallow and more circumstancial than a deeply felt love. Because of that, the drama felt less impactful as a reader.
3,25⭐️ I forgot how Ali Hazelwood' MMCs always have so much yearning for the FMCs. I liked that, but I would have loved to have more of the emotional attachment between the characters other than just the physical part.
Also, for a story this short, I feel that a lot of time was spent on the side characters which took away from the main couple(though I would not be mad if we had a Mike and Otto short story at a later date).
This book was way too long for the story,
maybe it's just because I'm used to my romance books being a MAX of 400 pages...
I liked the first half way more but after that it just kept dragging.
The story wasn't bad, but I didn't really care for the characters either, I'm sorry to say this one is a 3 stars.
