The characters might've been basic, the plot twists not all that shocking. But the book still has a heart that I trust surely to bloom into something greater.
A great show of what their lives are like. Personal and sad, but great. The ending is good, but I would've liked a short epilogue, but that just might've been false to the story.
The slug guy is evil. This volume gets darker, better drawn, and more mysterious. The world is starting to take shape. Guts seemed even angrier here. We even get to see from another POV.
The writing was beautiful, the story disgusting. The character of Ballard made me react the most in my book-reading journey thus far. He doesn't deserve anything, but still, it made you feel for him.
