What a confusing mess was the French Revolution. This book does not help. It assumes you have a good understanding of the history. Without that, it is very difficult to follow.

Amazing read. Learned much I never knew about his life after participating in the American Revolution and his role in the political changes in France for the next 50 years.

The science in this Science Fiction doesn't age well, however there is a great line:

“To the rest of the Galaxy, if they are aware of us at all, Earth is but a pebble in the sky. To us it is home, and all the home we know.”

Fun book. One of my favorite science fiction books in high school.

Not one of Larry Niven's better books.

If you enjoyed The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, and the other Smiley stories, this is a must read. I'd recommend re-reading The Spy Who Came in From the Cold first.

Re-read this book and it seems more juvenile than I remember from when I first read it 30 years ago.

The 3 book series is an excellent history of the heros of Civil rights movement leading up to the March from Selma to Montgomery.

updated version of Ringworld, but not as good. Hopefully the second book is better.

“Houston, be advised: Rich Purnell is a steely-eyed missile man”.

Reads more like a novel than history. Very good complement to Masterman's book “The Double Cross System”. It's also interesting to read some of the techniques used in the deceptions which show up in John le Carre's novels.

Fictionalized Biography = made up stories not written very well.

Not as funny as the first book in the series, but some good laughs.

Great new book about Known Space.

I met Mr. Polmar at Naval Postgraduate School in 1995, or 1996. I had an old dog-eared, duct taped (EB Green of course) copy and asked him to sign it for me. I apologized for the condition of the book, but he laughed and said he was happy to see that it had gotten a lot of use.
