It was a slow burn but when it kicks off this story was quite wonderful. I thought I was in for a fantasy world and was quite surprised by the turn it took but delighted. The pairing of Orpheus and Fenris was wonderful, starting slow then becoming really moving. For a first book this was absolutely wonderful and I had a really good time!

Très bon essai de Daisy Letourneur (la Mecxpliqueuse) sur les hommes et la masculinité, extrêmement bien documenté et sourcé. J'avoue que le tout est assez terrifiant et force à regarder les choses en face, mais je pense que c'est le genre d'ouvrage vraiment nécessaire si l'on veut arriver à faire mieux en tant que société. Dur mais juste et vital.

Un court texte en hommage à un ami disparu qui a marqué l'adolescence de l'auteur. Ayant perdu quelques amis au long des années ce livre m'a pas mal touché et je m'y suis retrouvé dans plusieurs passages. Seul bémol, les attaques gratuites de l'auteur par rapport à la gauche.

J'avais préféré Radical du même auteur, celui ci tenait au final plus du pamphlet politique que d'un roman. Si le message et le prisme à travers lequel la prostitution et la pornographie étaient très intéressant par rapport à l'hypocrisie de l'époque, l'histoire en elle même manquait au final de force et l'on s'attachait peu aux personnages que je trouvais finalement peu crédibles, trop détachés.
Tu crois vraiment qu’après tout ce que j’ai traversé, je vais me contenter d’un salaire de merde, qui en soi est peut-être très bien par rapport à la moyenne, mais qui ne correspond plus du tout au coût réel de la vie en région parisienne ! Le jour où on proposera des rémunérations en adéquation avec le prix des loyers, de l’immobilier, de la bouffe, de la carte de transport, alors je réfléchirai à ta proposition, je t’assure… Mais là, je dirais que ce serait de la prostitution de me vendre pour aussi peu… compte tenu de ce que je gagne.

Cet essai traite au final plus des problèmes de masculinité toxique que du désir masculin. Il a cependant le mérite de ne pas être anti-porno et d'aller un peu plus loin dans ses interrogations.

Liked this one. Things start to get really interesting with Murderbot especially has he's going back to his first team. The tension was quite heavy and I had a really hard time letting go of the book so I scarified some sleeping time just to finish it!

A nice anthology of queer Arab writers talking about their experience, their culture, encounters with white saviors, ... Most of them were really interesting, giving great cultural insights on Arab queer lives and perceptions. I learned quite a lot and saw several faults I did myself when interacting with queer Arab previously so this will help me be better.
