Proud of my trashy book taste. Love scifi, space opera and fantasy. Utterly unable to pay attention to nonfiction books 😵

See allI can only describe this book as stultifying. It takes an awful lot of bad to force me to give up on a book midway through; Aurora isn't quite that bad. Not quite. It is, however, one of the most undirected, rambling, *boring* reads to which I have subjected myself in years. I found myself actually desperate for it to be over so I could move on to something with a little life in it.
Rare is the book bad enough that I give up on it mid way through. This is truly a special case. The writing is excruciating; the story an unimaginative mess; the dialogue forced and unnatural. To top it all off it's casually sexist throughout, and indulges in the hero-character-saves-female-from-herself-via-raping-her trope.
I want to burn the memory of this book from my brain. Utter trash.
